John Travis Jackson
John Travis Jackson, 73, of Crossett died Wednesday, September 20, 2000, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. A native of Warren, he was retired from the Georgia-Pacific plywood mill and was a member of the First Baptist Church on Florida Street in Crossett. A deacon in the church for the past 35 years, he was also a member of Exodus Lodge #403. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Eddie "Bo-Bo" Colen, Jr., and his parents, George and Erma Lee Bronson Jackson. Survivors include his wife, Queen Ester Jackson; seven sons, Rev. Curtis, Bobby Dale and Colby Jackson of Crossett and Rev. Travis, Johnny and Winfred Jackson of Fordyce; three daughters, Jacqulyn Willis and Patricia Jackson of Crossett and Carolyn Dismuke of Harrell; 30 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Monday, September 25, in the First Baptist Church on Florida with Rev. Curtis Jackson officiating. Pallbearers were members of the Exodus Lodge #403 with the deacons and trustees of the church and Silver Star Chapter #306, Singing Union #3, Community Singers #1 and the Church School as honorary pallbearers. Burial followed services at the Westview Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.

Jewel Mae Perry
Jewel Mae Perry, 67, of Montrose died Thursday, September 21, 2000, at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bayou Mason Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Perry of Montrose; two daughters, Darlene Cupit of Boydell and LaDonna Mixon of Jerome; and three grandchildren, Thomas Mixon and Perry and Jason Cupit. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 23, in the Bayou Mason Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Christmas officiating. Burial followed services at the Bayou Mason Cemetery, directed by Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.

Roy P. Prince
Roy P. Prince, 65, of Crossett died Thursday, September 21, 2000, at the Ashley County Medical Center. He was born November 7, 1934, to Fred and Valeria Woodson Prince. Survivors include two cousins, Bea Scott and R. D. Woodson, both of Bastrop, LA. Grave-side services were at 10 a.m. Friday, September 22, in the Bartholomew Cemetery in Bonita, LA, with Rev. Lynn Townsend officiating. Arrangements were by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.

Calvin Eugene Tucker
Calvin Eugene Tucker, 61, of the White Station community outside Crossett died Monday, September 18, 2000, at his home. A life-long resident of Crossett, he was a retired truck driver and was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Tucker. Survivors include a son, Carlis Edwards of Crossett; his mother, Laura Tucker of Crossett; seven brothers, Elder Marion, Raymond and Clifton Tucker of Seattle, WA, Eli Tucker of Blytheville, and Johnny, Sylvester and Curtis Tucker of Crossett; three sisters, Rosie Turner and Viola Shields of Seattle and Marie Martin of Crossett. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 23, in the Ryles Chapel A. M. E. Church with Bishop W. H. Satterwhite officiating. Pallbearers were Genice Tucker, Jessie Tucker, Jr., Charles Lawson, Eddie Williams, Terry Thompson and Thomas Spratt. Burial followed services at the Ryles Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
