Ethel Brouyette Reith
Ethel Brouyette Reith, 86, of Rochester, Indiana, died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at the Woodland Hospital in Rochester. Born May 19, 1914, in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Herbert and Beulah McHenry, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh. She marriage Guy Brouyette, Sr., on October 12, 1934, and marriage Joseph A. Reith on June 6, 1974. Her second husband preceded her in death on May 5, 1993. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Brewer, in 1972; a grandson, Jay Lee Vance, in 1981; and a sister, Sally Anderson. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy and husband Earl Vance of Rochester and Sallie and husband DeWayne Broach of Hamburg; two sons, Guy Paul "Sonny" and wife Kay Brouyette of Akron, IN, and Frederic and wife Sallie Brouyette of Rochester; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 13, in the Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home in Rochester with burial following a the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Rochester. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
Mark Julius Tolefree
Mark Julius Tolefree, 62, of Hamburg died Monday, July 10, 2000, at the Ashley County Medical Center. A life-long resident of Hamburg, he was a retired timber worker, and a Methodist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Enos and Janie Kazee Tolefree, and a brother, Leon Tolefree. Survivors include three brothers, Rev. Levi Tolefree and George Tolfree of Crossett and James Tolefree of Rockford, IL; and a sister, Vera Washington of Crossett. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Friday, July 14, at the Cromwell Funeral Home chapel with Rev. W. R. Taylor officiating. Pallbearers were Adrian Tolefree, Earnest Cromwell, Jr., Chris Washington, Leslie Tolefree, Larry Tippie and Herman Pippen. Burial followed services at the Westview Cemetery.
Mr. Omer White
Mr. Omer White, 90, died Saturday, July 15, 2000, at his residence in Fountain Hill. A native and a life-long resident of Fountain Hill, he retired in 1975 from Ashley Drew and Northern Railroad after 46 years. He was an active member of the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church for 70 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eatmon & Sula Griffin White; two brothers, Grover & Carl White and two sisters, Janie & Allene White. He is survived by his wife of 67 years; Lois Oliver White of Fountain Hill; a son, Gerald "Buddy" White of Hamburg; a daughter, Sylvia Alldread of Pine Bluff; a brother, Sterling White of Fountain Hill; a sister, Odell White Sivils of Hamburg; three grandchildren, Dana Roberts, Kim Thornton and Chuck White and five great-grandchildren, Damian & Jeremy Roberts, Ashlee Bonner, Philip Roberts & Colby White. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Monday, July 17, in the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church with Revs. Bill Elton & Gene Gregory officiating. Pallbearers were J. B. Oglesby, Kerry Yelvington, Bobby Griffin, Dennis Thurman, Bobby Allison, V.W. Cason, Clint Jeffers & Charles White. Honorary pallbearers were Milton Simmons, Willie Roy Taylor, Bobby Graham, Carl Sivils, Mike Richard, Shelby Scott, Johnny Walthall, T.J. Stanley, Vernon Locke, Harold Hollis, Shane Smith, William Moffatt, Steve Bolin, Buddy Griever, Johnny W. Pierce and George Vestal. Interment followed services at the Flat Creek Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church, c/o Mr. Velton Cason, 213 Ashley Road 482, Fountain Hill, AR 71642.
Larry Dale Acord
Larry Dale Acord, 51, of Mist died Saturday, July 8, 2000, at the Ashley County Medical Center. Born April 21, 1949, in Dermott, he was a Baptist and a truck driver who retired from the United Parcel Service. He was preceded in death by his father, Price Acord, and a sister, Menna Sue Acord. Survivors include his fiancee, Peggy Hallman; two sons, Wayne Acord of Mist and Stephen Acord of El Dorado; a daughter Shonia Singleton of Monticello; his mother, Elsie Wright Acord of Alma; one brother, Darrell Acord of Montgomery, AL; two sisters, Doris Jordan of Mulberry and Barbara Toney of Spartanburg, SC; and two grandchildren, Eric and Heather Singleton. Funeral services were planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, at the Ocker Funeral Home in Alma. Pallbearers were to be Ricky Craighead, Mike Parker, Ben Toney, Kenneth Moorehead, Charles Reese and Smiley Garcia. Ricky Acord was to be an honorary pallbearer. Burial was planned to follow services at the cemetery in Dyer.
