Mr. Jefferson O. Grice
Mr. Jefferson O. Grice, Jr., 50, of Moscow, TN, died Thursday, December 14, 2000, in Somerville, TN. He was a native of Kenova, West Virginia; a resident of Moscow, TN for the past two years and a former resident of Memphis & Little Rock. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Little Rock and was preceded in death by his father Jefferson Grice, Sr. in 1980.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Roby Grice of Moscow, TN; a son, Nathan Grice of Little Rock; two daughters, Jennifer Hennessey of Little Rock and Maci Grice of Independence, MO; three step-sons, James King of Germantown, TN, Jonathan King of Reagan, TN, and Joseph King of Memphis, TN; his mother, Virginia Courson Grice Riley of Little Rock and a grandson, Klye Harris.
Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg with Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating. Pallbearers are to be Bobby Davis, Don Davis, Chris Cook, P.G. Bradford, Russell Mathis, and Paul Courson. Interment will be in the Pinewood Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Central Arkansas Chapter, 10411 W. Markham, Suite 130, Little Rock, AR 72205-1409
Julia Woods Rickman
Julia Woods Rickman, 65, of Crossett died Friday, December 15, 2000, at her home. Born March 17, 1935, in Hamburg to George and Brooksie Coulter Norrell, she was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Crossett and was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, George Norrell, and a sister, Willie Swan.
Survivors include her husband, Pat Rickman; a stepson, Dennis Rickman; three daughters, Sandy Harrison and Dixie Adams, all of Crossett, and Julia Reed of Monroe, LA; two brothers, William Norrell of Crossett and James Norrell of Homer, LA; three sisters, Frances Gray of Monroe, LA, Lillian Green of Sterlington, LA, and Mary Ruth Johnston of Harrell; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were on Sunday, December 17, in the First United Pentecostal Church of Crossett with Bros. Larry Hickman, Bryan Peck and Ronnie Turner officiating. Burial followed services at the Carlock Cemetery, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Orland G. Sanders
Orland G. Sanders, 78, of Crossett died Sunday, December 17, 2000, at the Ashley County Medical Center. Born August 22, 1922, to James Curvis and Mamie Chamberlis Sanders, he was an U. S. Army World War II veteran and a machine operator for Georgia-Pacific Extrusion before retiring. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his spouse, Mildred Sanders of Crossett; two sons, Glen Sanders and Randale Sanders of Crossett; a daughter, Teresa Jenkins of El Dorado; two brothers, Doyle Sanders of Locust Bayou and Darce Sanders of Camden; a sister, Unavee Barner of Hampton, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home in Crossett. Burial was to follow services at Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Margarette E. Hobbs
Mrs. Margarette Etheridge Hobbs, 89, of Hamburg, died Thursday, December 7, 2000, at the Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. A native and lifelong resident of Ashley County and Hamburg and a resident of Monticello for the past six years, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hamburg, a homemaker, seamstress, cook, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and prayer warrior. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hogan Hobbs, in 1995; a son, James Hobbs; a grandson, Mark Hobbs; her parents, Ruben & Colen Rebecca Allen Etheridge; six brothers and five sisters.
Survivors are two sons, Billy Hobbs and wife Francis of Zwolle, LA, and Gerald Hobbs and wife Linda of Dumas; two daughters, Julia Alice Willis and husband Charles of Demopolis, AL, and Martha McGarrity and husband John of Monticello; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 9, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg with Revs. John Ross and. Rick Etheridge officiating. Pallbearers were Dennis Willis, Anthony Hobbs, Nanette Judd, Geralyn Miller, Charity & Leah Dennington. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the Dorcus Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church. Interment followed services at the Hamburg Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 352, Hamburg, AR 71646 or to the donor's favorite charity.
