Milton Monroe Johnson
Milton Monroe Johnson, 88, of Crossett died Monday, December 4, 2000, at the Hamburg Leisure Lodge. Born January 12, 1912, in Sheridan, he was an U. S. Army veteran of World War II, a retired forester for Georgia-Pacific Corp., and a long time member of the South Crossett Missionary Baptist Church. He loved to fish and work in the yard.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Helen Louise Johnson of Crossett; one son, William Edward Johnson of Enfield, CT; three grandsons, Justin, Jarrod and Jacob; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 7, in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett with Rev. Don Justice officiating. Burial followed services at Pinewood Memorial Park.
Harold Dean Lott
Harold Dean Lott, 70, of Bastrop, LA, died Saturday, December 9, 2000, at the Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop. A retired industrial painter, he was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Ella Evans Lott.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherry McDonald of Bastrop; four sons, Carl Lott of Lake City, FL, Harold Douglas Lott of Bastrop, Dennis Wayne Lott of Adona, Ark, and John Stephen Lott of Pineville, LA; a sister, JoAnn Simms of Minden, LA; three brothers, Raymond Lott of Houston, TX, Ralph Lott of Tioga, LA, and Floyd Lott of Crossett; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 12, in the Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Eppinette officiating. Burial was to follow services at the Egypt Cemetery with arrangements by Golden Funeral Home of Bastrop.
Mrs. Cornelia Hines Parker
Mrs. Cornelia Hines Parker, 85, of Crossett died Sunday, December 10, 2000, at the Beverly Health Care Center in Hamburg. Mrs. Parker was a native of Clahoun County, a resident of Crossett since 1952 and a former resident of Dermott and Hampton. A homemaker and member of the North Crossett Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil J. Parker in 1971; her parents, Charlie & Amelia Thomas Hines; a sister; two half sisters and a half brother.
Survivors are two daughters, Margaret Jean Waldrup and husband Allen of Hamburg; Jerri Palmer and husband Billy of Longview, TX; two brothers, Charles William Hines of Austin, TX, and Robert O. Hines of Cove City, OR; three sisters, Ruth Leisinger of Dayton, TX, Lula Roe of Shreveport, LA, and Ruby Smith of Tyler, TX; four grandchildren, Tammy Henry and husband Bill of Crossett; Ginger Welch and husband Jim of El Dorado and Kevin Palmer and wife Summer of Austin, TX, and Susan Palmer Altom and husband, Dan, of The Woodlands, TX; three great-grandsons, Will & Stephen Henry and Robert Allen Welch; one great-granddaughter, Mary Ellen Welch; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Grave-side funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, in the Union Grove Cemetery south of Harrell with Rev. Charles Pullin officiating. Honorary pallbearers were to be Kevin Palmer, Dan Altom, Bill Henry, Jim Welch and Brady Parker. Funeral arrangements were by Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the Union Grove Cemetery Association, c/o Earl Gorman, Rt 3, Box 124, Hampton, AR 71744 or to Gideons International, PO Box 83, Crossett, AR 71635.
Flora Mae White
Flora Mae White, 83, of Bastrop, LA, died Sunday, December 10, 2000, at the Cherry Ridge guest care home. A homemaker and member of the Central Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by her husband, Olan W. White, and a son, Glen Dale White.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Ellis and husband Richard of Austin, TX, and Mickey Farrar and husband Leonard of Bastrop; five sons, Sherwood White and wife Virginia of St. Petersburg, FL, Donald White and wife Betty of Little Rock, Darrell White and wife Elaine and Ed White and wife Beverly of Bastrop, and Jimmy White and wife Judy of Downsville, LA; a sister, Loyce Stell of West Monroe, LA; a brother, D. S. "Boots" Madden of Texarkana, AR; 24 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were planned for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 12, in the Central Baptist Church with Bros. Freddie Spears and Thad Douglas officiating. Sons were to be pallbearers with grandsons as honorary pallbearers. Burial was to follow grave-side services at the Promise Land Cemetery at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, with arrangements by Golden Funeral Home of Bastrop.
