Jane Frances Maxwell Williams
Jane Frances Maxwell Williams, 81, of Bastrop, LA, died Monday, December 4, 2000. She was born in Bastrop July 21, 1919. She and her husband, Robert Shirley Williams, moved to Beekman, LA, where they retired. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Boston, MA, and the First Church of Christ Scientist in Monroe, LA. She worked as a legal secretary and after retirement, went to Boston to work in the translation department of her church. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include three children, James Robert Williams and wife Sharon of Washington, D. C.., Shirley Frances Williams of Bastrop and Leon Harris "Harry" Williams and wife Sue of Clemson, SC; five brothers, David M. Maxwell, James L. Maxwell, Paul E. Maxwell, Don R. Maxwell and Richard T. Maxwell; one sister, Rosetta C. Satterfield; a sister-in-law, Mildred Melton; and grandchildren Daniel James Williams of Knoxville, TN, Ann Marie Wills and husband Howard of Merriam, KS, Melissa Robb and husband Bill of Ellis, KS, Robert James Williams and wife Isabelle of Enid, OK, Penelope Jane Reyes and husband Tedoro of San Francisco, CA, Stacee Elizabeth Aspland and husband John of Long Beach, CA, Carrie Lyn Williams of Atlanta, GA, and Ethan Alan Frederick and wife Megan of Atlanta; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 9, in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett.
John Frank Wolf, Jr.
John Frank Wolf, Jr., 75, died Thursday, December 7, 2000, in Texarkana, TX. Born January 18, 1925, in Hamburg to John Franklin, Sr., and Essie Dell Noble Wolf, he and his wife made their home in Idabel, OK, for the past 30 years after moving from Baton Rouge, LA. He retired from Weyerhauser, where he was employed as a power house supervisor. He was an U. S. Eighth Air Force veteran of World War II, with tours of duty in England and Czechoslovakia. A Baptist, he was preceded in death by his parents, who lived in Crossett.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Darlene Wolf of Idabel, OK; three sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip Aubrey and Margaret Wolf of Alpharetta, GA, John Frank Wolf III of Hugo, OK, and Billy Bob and Jeanette Wolf of Idabel; two daughters, Brenda Gibbs of Fredricksburg, VA, and Julia Alice Ives of Texarkana, AR; a brother, Louis Aubrey Wolf of Little Rock; a sister, Evelyn McCormick of Crossett; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 9, in the First Baptist Church in Idabel, OK. Grave-side services were at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, in the Pinewood Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mickey Noble, Scott McCormick, Jeff Ives, Jarrod Ives, David Wolf, Harbison Moffatt, Tony Moffatt, Norris Burchell and Gary Johnson. Arrangements were by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Michael McCauley Briggs
Michael McCauley Briggs, 59, of Crossett died Tuesday, November 28, 2000, in Houston, TX.
Survivors include his parents, Norman and Betty Briggs of Crossett, and a nephew, Mark Gripp of Eugene, OR.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 4, in St. Mark's Episcopal Church with Father George Hart officiating, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Willie Daniels
Willie Daniels, 91, of Lacey died Sunday, November 26, 2000, in the Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. A native of Drew County, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Promise Land Baptist Church in Lacey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Jo Daniels, on November 5, 2000; two sons, William Terry and Willie Daniels, Jr., and his parents, King David and Margaret Lambert Daniels.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Mae Daniels and Mae Thomas of Lacey; a sister, Robizine Blanks of Fountain Hill; 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, December 1, in the Promise Land Baptist Church in Lacey with Rev. Olderns McQuay officiating. Pallbearers were Johnny Ray, Hubert, Ernest and Charlie Smith, Mark Graham, Gary Lambert and Willie Lamar and Walter Daniels. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons and trustees of the church.
Burial followed services at the Lacey Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
