Junior Rainey
Junior Rainey, 67, of Warren, formerly of Crossett, died Wednesday, November 22, 2000, at the Bradley County Medical Center. Born September 15, 1933, in Bradley County to the late Wallace, Sr., and Mary Hamilton Rainey, he was a retired employee of Georgia-Pacific's plywood division and a Presbyterian. He was preceded in death by a son, Lanny M. Rainey, and a sister, Nancy Rainey Owens.
Survivors include his wife, Nettie Clanton Rainey; a son, Wendell M. Rainey of Crossett; a daughter, Teresa Rainey Walsh of Crossett; a sister, Barbara Huddleston, of Dallas, TX; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 24, in the Cavalry Presbyterian Church at Johnsville with Rev. Troy Pruitt officiating. Charles Cauley was soloist and pianist. Pallbearers were Danny Rainey, Eddie Ferrell, Clay Lowery, Billy Joe Ferrell, John Lewis Suratt and Dugan Townley. Honorary pallbearers were Sonny Rainey, Ernie, Troy and Travis Ferrell and Donny Ray Lowery.
Burial followed services at the Calvary Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Presbyterian Church, 143 Bradley Road 56, Hermitage, AR 71647.
Mrs. Lucille Standridge
Mrs. Lucille Standridge, 77, of Collins, died Saturday, November 25, 2000, at her residence. Mrs. Standridge was a native of Hector, a resident of Collins for the past four years and a former resident of Dermott and Boydell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Boydell Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Mikel Standridge in 1984; her parents, Henry & Maudie Heffley Price and a granddaughter, Faith Densmore.
Survivors include two sons, William Hardie of Cominto and Michael Standridge of Collins; three daughters, Wanda Densmore of McGehee, Gladys Densmore of Ladelle, and Mildred Carrington of Grand Rivers, KY; a brother, Mitchell Price of Eudora; two sisters, Lillian Standridge of Dermott and Hazel Ballinger of Russellville; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Monday, November 27, in the Boydell Baptist Church with Rev. E.W. Ricks officiating. Pallbearers were Paul Boykin, Quinton Adcock, Larry Pruitt, Wilford Cottington, Chuck Hudgens, John Wooten, Lynn Cater and James Cottington. Interment followed services at the Montrose Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 901 N. University Ave., Little Rock AR 72207.
Owen Winston "Teddy" Warren
Owen Winston "Teddy" Warren, 83,of Crossett died Wednesday, November 22, 2000, at his residence. A life-long resident of Crossett, he was retired from the Georgia-Pacific paper mill and was a member of the Gates Chapel A. M. E. Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, Will C. and Willie P. Hughes Warren, four sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include a son, Milton Warren of Chino, CA; three daughters, Delois Warren of Los Angeles, CA, Alestene Creighton of Gardena, CA and LaJetta Hudson of Lakewood, CA; eight grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, in the Gates Chapel A. M. E. Church with Rev. Tyrone Broomfield officiating. Pallbearers were to be Odell Lawson, C. T. Foster, Eugene Streeter, Donald Flentroy, Roy Curtis and Curtis Boston, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were to be John W., Derek and Anthony T. Creighton, Keith Hudson, Robert Jackson and Rev. Nolan Watson. Burial was to follow services at the Westview Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
Leatha B. Watts
Leatha B. Watts, 78, of Crossett died Saturday, November 25, 2000, at the Crossett Leisure Lodge. Born January 13, 1922, to Alford and Mary Bays Rice, she was a homemaker and a member of the Beulahland Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis V. Watts.
Survivors include a son, Alford Lewis Watts and wife Norma of Crossett; a sister, Flozeal DeWeese of McAlister, OK; and two step-children, Tarra and Chadd Rice.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, November 27, in the Community Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Lawrence Amos officiating. Pallbearers were William Carroll Pippen, Mike Sturdivant, Jack Hamm, Darrell Rice and Ernest Coulter. Burial followed services at the Crossroads Cemetery, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
