LueDilla "Hulie" Wilson
LueDilla "Hulie" Wilson, 79, of Hamburg died Saturday, November 25, 2000, in the North Monroe Hospital. A native of Ashley County, she was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Wilson; three sons, one daughter and four sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Aubrey Wilson of Atlanta, GA, and Cleveland and Nathaniel Wilson of Hamburg; two daughters, Doristine Dunn and Maggie Ware of Hamburg; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, in the Mount Zion Baptist Church with Rev. W. R. Taylor officiating. Pallbearers were to be Anthony and Thomas Wilson, Levell Stanley, Jr., Johnny and Billy Ray Stanley. Burial was to follow services at the Johnson Memorial Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
Mrs. Vernie L. Jones
Mrs. Vernie L. Jones, 90, of Crossett, died Saturday, November 18, 2000, at the Beverly Health Care Center in Crossett. A native of Meridian, MS; a resident of Crossett since 1981 and for many years a resident of Wilmot, she was a homemaker and a member of the Dry Bayou Assembly of God Church outside of Wilmot. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 70 years, Cleveland Jones, in July of this year; her parents, Charlie & Minnie Collins Ward, three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Charles "Buddy" Jones and wife Dorothy of Crossett and Gerald Jones and wife Mary of Monticello; a daughter, Louise Taylor and husband Budd, of Crossett; a sister, Thelma Shannon of Bastrop, LA; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Grave-side funeral services and interment were at 1 p.m. Monday, November 20, at the Dry Bayou Cemetery with Rev. Cecil Harvey officiating. Funeral arrangements were by Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the Dry Bayou Cemetery Association, c/o Mrs. Polly Wolf, 138 Ashley Road 378, Wilmot, AR 71676.
Willowree Jones
Willowree B. Jones, 89, of Crossett, died Wednesday, November 15, 2000. Born January 7, 1911, to William Eldridge and Sarah Alive Silver Byrd, Mrs. Jones was a member of the Crossett Eastern Star Lodge #303 and a dual member with the Margaret Chapter #151 in Hamburg and was the State Sweetheart of the Arkansas Grand Chapter of the Eastern Star in 1999. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crossett and was preceded in death by her husband, William Jess Jones.
Survivors include one son, William Bruce Jones of Galena, OH; one daughter, Hazel Smith of Crossett; one brother, Oliver Brisco Byrd of North Carolina; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 19, at the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett with Rev. Steve Franklin officiating. Interment followed services at Pinewood Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Sidney Lamb
Sidney Lamb, 77, of Lake Village died Tuesday, November 14, 2000. A farmer and member and deacon of the Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ella Lamb; a grandson, Landon Lamb; and two sisters, Lucy Ward and Floree Hayes.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lamb; two sons, Jimmie Lamb of Watson and Billy Lamb of Lake Village; two daughters, JoAnn Payne of Lake Village and Mary Eva Schuk of Conway; three brothers, Leon and Robert Lamb of Lake Village and Frankie Lamb of Arkansas City; three sisters, Bernice Standridge of Lake Village, Alice Smith of Dermott and Laverne Fuel of Hamburg; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 16, in the Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church with Bros. Phillip Payne and Elmer Holiman officiating. Burial followed services at the Oak Grove Cemetery, directed by Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
