Billy Gerald Barnett
Billy Gerald Barnett, 62, of Crossett died Sunday, November 12, 2000. Born January 2, 1938, in Bastrop, LA, to the late James Willard and Mabrey Smith Barnett, he attended Louisiana State University and graduated from Northeast Louisiana University. He owned Berry Packing Company in Crossett. He attended the First United Methodist Church of Crossett, served on the board of First State Bank of Crossett, was a former board member for the Southeast Meatpackers' Association and was an avid hunter and cattleman
Survivors include his wife, Harriet Stockley Barnett of Crossett; a sister, Nelda Ruth Barnett Johnson of Monroe, LA; his children, Clair Ramsay and husband Rick of Little Rock; Jett Sheehy and husband Mike of Atlanta, GA, Todd Barnett and wife Shelley Pennington Barnett of Houston, TX, Brad Davis and wife Lonni Welch Davis of Crossett; Jon Barnett and wife Ginger Allgood Barnett of Houston, and Temple Langston and husband Tim of Harlingen, TX; grandchildren Alex and Clancy Graham, Smith, Michael, and Ryan Sheehy, Taylor, Jake, Hayden and Cameron Barnett and Reeves Davis.
Funeral services are planned for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, in the First United Methodist Church of Crossett with Revs. Bill Williams and Sally Johnson officiating. Burial will follow services at Pinewood Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Cancer Research Center, 4301 West Markham, Slot 623, Little Rock, AR 72205 or to the First United Methodist Church, 500 Main Street, Crossett, AR 71635.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, at the Jones Funeral Home in Crossett. . The family will be at 1408 Cedar in Crossett.
Elvis Bradley
Elvis Bradley, 94, of Crossett died Monday, November 6, 2000, at the Crossett Leisure Lodge. Born June 26, 1906, in Dermott to Elvis and Texanna Bradley, he was employed at the Crossett sawmill and later retired from the Georgia-Pacific plywood plant. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Caroline Bradley, Bessie Wilson and Texanna Bradley; and three brothers. Thomas, Joseph and Jim Bradley.
Survivors include his wife, Angel Lee Bradley of Crossett; six daughters, Mary L. Johnson, Redenna Tate Aubrey and Charlotte Williams of Crossett, Joyce M. Glover and Melvalene Bradley of Milwaukee, WI, and LaJune Givins and husband Charles of Denver, CO; three sons, Elvis Bradley of Milwaukee, and Thomas Lee Bradley and Earl Terry of Crossett; grandchildren Frederick L. Givins of Denver, Denise Y. Gilbert, Randall Terry and wife Valerie, Eugene Johnson and wife Linda, Joe Willie Johnson and wife Barbara and Lisa Wilson of Crossett; Bonnie Glover and James E. Johnson of Houston, TX; Edmond Johnson of Chicago, IL; Craig and Bonnie Glover, Elvis II, Sultan, Naeem, Khaleelah, Tyra, Tekivia and Makala Bradley and Genary Ford of Milwaukee, Satonya and Sandy Ford of Little Rock, and Earl Terry, Jr., of Des Moines, IA; many great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Monday, November 13, in the Calvary Full Gospel Church with Rev. David Henderson officiating. Burial followed services at the Westview Cemetery, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Corssett.
Mr. Cecil H. Broach
Mr. Cecil H. Broach, 83, died Saturday, November 11, 2000, at his residence in Hamburg. A native of Ashley County and a resident of the Milo community outside of Hamburg for the past 40 years, he was a retired pipefitter and a member of Local #798 for fifty years. He was an U. S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #9360 in Hamburg and a Methodist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Myrtis Bolin Broach, two brothers, Ray & Royce Broach, and a sister, Dorothy Broach.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Luna Sawyer Broach of Hamburg; a son, Dewayne Broach of Hamburg; a daughter, Patricia Anne Broach Jay of Fort Lauderdale, FL; a sister, Ruth Roper of New Orleans, LA; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Monday, November 13, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg with Rev. Mike Titsworth officiating. Honorary pallbearers were members of VFW Post #9360. A private interment of ashes will take place in the Eden Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 1610, Little Rock, AR 72203.
Zenith Dale Sivils Carter
Zenith Dale Sivils Carter, age 89, of Crossett, died Thursday, November 9, 2000, at the Crossett Leisure Lodge. Born on March 9, 1911, to Henry Cornelius and Aurelia Carlisle Sivils, Mrs. Carter was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Crossett. She was proceeded in death by her husband, H.T. "Jack" Carter; a grandson, Chuck Goodwin; seven brothers and one sister.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Goodwin, and husband Charles of Crossett; one granddaughter, Tara Kettles of Little Rock; two great-grandsons; one step-granddaughter and one step-grandson.
The family received visitors from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 10, and grave side services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, at the Pinewood Memorial Park Cemetery with the Reverend Jimmie Lewis officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
