Mr. Nathan "Skip" Hensley
Mr. Nathan "Skip" Eugene Hensley, 49, of Snyder died Wednesday, October 4, 2000, at his residence. He was a native of Jonesboro, a resident of the Snyder Community outside Hamburg since 1985 and a former resident of Los Angeles, CA, and Eudora. He was a machinist and a member of the Indian Switch Assembly of God Church in Eudora. He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Hensley in 1993.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Smith Hensley of Snyder; a son, Skip E. Hensley and wife Shelly of Fulton, MS; his mother, Helen Hensley of Weldon; a brother, Melvin Wayne Hensley of West Memphis, a sister, Mary Jane Bynum of Jonesboro; and two grandchildren, Nathan Lee & Lois Elizabeth Hensley.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 8, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg with Rev. Roger West officiating. Pallbearers were John Hawkins, Keith & Glenn Ladd, John Harris, Randell Harris and John Barfield. Interment followed services at the Jennie Cemetery in Chicot County.
C. L. Hopper
C. L. Hopper, 75, of Crossett died Sunday, October 8, 2000, at the Ashley County Medical Center. Born March 2, 1925, to Elmer Lee and Mary Evelyn Earnest Hopper in Tinsman, he was a three-year U. S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a combat engineer in the Philippines and the Solomon Islands. A Little League and Babe Ruth manager for several years, he retired as a supervisor after 40 years of employment with Chase Bag and loved to hunt, fish and garden. He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a brother, Edmond Hopper.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Grace Esther Johnson Hopper of Crossett; a son, Ronnie Hopper and wife Becky of Crossett; three sisters, Mervyn Townsend of Crossett, Myrtle Dodd of Hampshire, TX, and Elna Jean Berard of Beaumont, TX; and two granddaughters, Mandy Caroline Horton and husband Robby and Carrie Lynn Hopper.
Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 11, in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett with Rev. Bob Vest officiating. Burial will follow services at the Arkadelphia Cemetery.
Willie Herman Jenkins
Willie Herman Jenkins, 71, of Crossett died Sunday, October 8, 2000, at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Born October 9, 1928, to Joe Cleveland and Evalena Mills Jenkins, he was a retired Georgia-Pacific forestry employee and enjoyed constructing fishing nets. He was a member of the Community Chapel Church.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Jenkins of Crossett; four sons, Jimmy Jenkins of Lufkin, TX, Billy and David Jenkins of Crossett and Glen Jenkins of Waldo; two daughters, Betty Williams of Crossett and Peggy Higginbotham of Hot Springs; two brothers, Arlie and Joseph Jenkins; two sisters, Katie Murphy and Verda Mae Rodgers, all of Crossett; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, in the Jarvis Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow services at the Crossroads Cemetery, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Mr. William James "Dub" Lochala
Mr. William James "Dub" Lochala, 78, of Hamburg, died Monday, October 2, 2000, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. A native of Crossett and a resident of Hamburg since 1946, he was an U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from the Georgia-Pacific Extrusion Plant in 1981, and he attended the Friendship Pentecostal Church of God in Crossett. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Alabama Rickman Lochala; four brothers, Ira, Espie, Chester and Curtis Lochala; and a sister, Eunice Estelle.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Cummings Lochala of Hamburg; a son, John David Lochala and wife, Sandi, of Dallas, TX; four sisters, Irene Langley, Gladys Murphy, Onie Rickman and Elouise Young, all of Crossett; two grandchildren, David Lochala of Little Rock and Tammi Sheppeard of Arlington, TX; a great-grandson, Joshua Caleb Sheppeard and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 4, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg with Revs. John Grantier & John Ripley officiating. Pallbearers were Royce & Bennie Young, Jimmy & William Murphy, Chris Irvine & Espie Mac Lochala. Interment followed services at the Hamburg Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Friendship Pentecostal Church of God, 127 Shelton's Loop, Crossett, AR 71635.
