Mrs. Malvia Golden
Mrs. Malvia Golden, 94, of Crossett died Thursday, January 18, 2001, at the Ashley County Medical Center. A native of Ashley County, a Crossett resident since 1979 and a Montrose resident for many years, she was employed by the E. J. Austin, Outlaw and Montrose Variety Stores. She also worked for the Southeast Arkansas Community Action Corporation in Warren for six years before retiring. A member of the North Crossett First Baptist Church, she was a former member of the Montrose Baptist Church where she was church clerk, Training Union director, song director and Sunday School teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Parker Golden, in 1968; her parents, Harvey and Jeredine Adams Woods; four brothers and a sister.
Survivors include three sons, Johnny and Edward Golden of Crossett and Jimmy Golden of Houston, TX; a daughter, Clydean Carden of Crossett; a sister, Carrie Corder of Portland; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 20, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home in Hamburg with Revs. Gayle Riles and Robin Allen officiating. Pallbearers were Lamar, Tommy and Sonny Woods, Douglas Crane, Dewey Ward and Keith Martin. Honorary pallbearers were members of the North Crossett First Baptist Church Senior Adult Men's and Women's Sunday School Class. Burial followed services at the Snyder Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the North Crossett First Baptist Church, 416 W. Church Street, Crossett, AR 71635.

Martha Hardison Stover Henson
Martha Hardison Stover Henson, 93, formerly of Crossett, died Saturday, January 13, 2001, in Montgomery, AL. Born September 29, 1907, to the late Mack Millard and Florence Keener Stover, she placed second in the Miss Alabama Nursing Home pageant in 1999 at the age of 91. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Maxine Whitman and husband Tommy of Wetumpka, AL; a sister, Addie Stover Roberts of Longview, TX; four grandchildren, Debra Ann Johnson, Marsha Kay Brown, Thomas James Whitman and Chuck Whitman; ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, in the Temple Baptist Church with Bro. Milton Wilson officiating. Pallbearers were Charles Whitman, Sr., Thomas James Whitman, Charles Whitman, Jr., J. J. Johnson, Randall Wilson and Dewayne Wilson. Cliff Wilson was an honorary pallbearer.
Burial followed services at the Pinewood Memorial Park, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.

Mr. Houston Johnson
Mr. Houston Johnson, 39, died Sunday, January 14, 2001, at his residence in Hamburg. A native of Warren and a resident of Hamburg for most of his life, he was a mechanic, a logger and a member of the Rolfe Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Lovell Johnson, in 1992.
Survivors include his wife, Renee Slaughter Johnson of Hamburg; a son, Tony Lovell Johnson, a daughter, Ashley Geneva Johnson, both of Beekman, LA; his mother, Jimmie Lou Johnson of El Dorado; four brothers, Donnie Johnson of Mansfield, LA, Jimmy Johnson of El Dorado; Ricky Johnson of Hamburg and Randall Johnson of El Dorado; 11 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, January 19, in the Rolfe Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Revs. Carlton White and Joey Meredith officiating. Pallbearers were Michael & Frankie White, Roger Smith, Sammy Johnson, Billy McDonald and Deane Streeter. Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Wayne Johnson, Troy Hagood, Kenny Meredith and Archie Lee Haynes. Interment followed services at the Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the Rolfe Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, 786 Hwy 82 W., Crossett, AR 71635.

Ellen Francis Orr
Ellen Francis Orr, age 85, of Hermitage, died Friday, January 19, 2001, in the Baptist Medical Center. Born September 30, 1915, in Eagle Lake, a daughter of the late Charlie and Emma Hamilton Colvin, she was a housewife and homemaker and a member of Eagle Lake Crossroads Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garner Orr, whom she marriage April 1, 1934, and he died January 13, 1985, and one sister, Ruth Stanley.
Survivors include two sons, Tony Orr of Warren and Collier Wayne Orr of Eagle Lake; three daughters, Connie Michel of Ingalls, Angelyn Indest of Orlando, FL, and Reia Thomas of Hamburg; one brother, Sam Colvin of Eagle Lake; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, January 22, at 1:30 p.m., at Frazer's Funeral Home with Revs. Michael Griffith and Buddy Burton officiating. The organist was Scott Lindsey. Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery in Ingalls. Pallbearers were Robert Michel, George Indest III, Steve Orr, Todd Orr, George Indest IV, Alex Indest, Mike May, Scott Lindsey, Scott Smith and Brett Stoval. Honorary pallbearers were her nephews.
