Maude Hickman Duncan
Maude Hickman Duncan, 95, of Pine Bluff died Sunday, December 17, 2000. A homemaker and member of the Olivet Baptist Church in Little Rock, she was preceded in death by her husband, Major Seth V. Duncan; her parents, John J. and Sarah E. Hickman; and four brothers, Luther, William, Roy and John C. Hickman.
Survivors include a sister, Margaret Hickman Chambers of Hamburg; a nephew, James I. Hickman of Oark; and a niece, Judith Gates of Battle Creek, Michigan.
Funeral services were Wednesday, December 20, at 1:30 p.m. in the Roller McNutt chapel. Burial followed services at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway.
Hogan Morrell Estelle
Hogan Morrell Estelle, 85, of Crossett died Tuesday, December 26, 2000, at the Ashley County Medical Center. Born October 15, 1915, to Willie and Lillie Stanley Estelle in Ashley County, he retired as a mechanist supervisor with the Ashley Drew and Northern Railway after 30 years of service. He loved to squirrel and bird hunt in his younger days and was a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, J. B. Estelle, and his wife, Mildred McFarland Estelle.
Survivors include a brother, George Estelle of Van Buren; two sisters, Helen Crowder of McGehee and Sally Ross of Little Rock; three stepchildren, Wilda Marchand, Russell Curl and Mae Curl; seven step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, December 29, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett with Rev. Roy Craig officiating. Burial followed services at Pinewood Memorial Park
Mr. Dewey Golden.
Mr. Dewey Golden, 75, of Hamburg, died Sunday, December 31, 2000 at his residence. Mr. Golden was a native and lifelong resident of Hamburg. He retired from the Georgia-Pacific Plywood Mill in 199, and he was a former employee of Murphy Ford. He was a charter member of the Gardner Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex & Josie Murphy Golden and two brothers, Roy & Lewis Golden.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pearl Reynolds Golden of Hamburg; a son, Ricky Golden and his wife, June, of Hamburg; a daughter, Helen Stagg and her husband, George, of Crossett; four grandchildren, Bobby & Billy Golden, Jamie Craig & Amy Griffin; two step-grandchildren, Jeff & Jennifer Stagg and five great-grandchildren, Robby & Roxanne Craig, Coby & Blake Griffin and Samantha Stagg.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 3, in the Gardner Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Pullin & Rev. Klois Hargis officiating. Pallbearers are to be Dennis Byrd, Russell Maxwell, Bennie Jordan, Johnny W. Pierce, John Dailey and Dewayne Fulgham. Honorary pallbearers are to be Clint Carpenter, Robert Maxwell, B.L. Barrett, Floyd Fairchild, Ted Rial and Royce Bowden. Interment will be in the Hamburg Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the Gardner Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 506, Hamburg, AR 71646.
Lavern Haynes
Lavern Haynes, 39, of Hamburg died Monday, December 25, 2000, at the Ashley County Medical Center. A native of Montrose, she was a homemaker and a member of the Emmanuel Church of God in Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Haynes; her father, Andrew Moore; a sister, Cassandra Elaine Gulley; and two grandmothers, Corene Robinson and Evelyn Jones.
Survivors include a son, Keitrich Brewer of Monticello; a daughter, Tiffanie Haynes of Hamburg; six brothers, Perry Dupree of Palmdale, CA, Al Brewer of Montrose, Ricky Moore of Pine Bluff, Jimmy Moore of St. Louis, MO, and Dean and Percy Moore of Dermott; seven sisters, Gloria Barnett and Linda Williams of Hamburg, Lois Moore, Paula Moore and Dorothy Hollins of Crossett, Shannon Dukes of Monticello and Christine Moore of Dermott; and two grandchildren, Phalilah Brewer and Keitrich Brewer, Jr.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 30, in the Emmanuel Church of God in Christ with Bishop Danny Mays officiating. Pallbearers were Rick Dunn, Kelvin Stroud, Ricky Moore, Joe Williams, Charles Barnett and Michael Dupree.
Burial followed services at the Carlock Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
