Mrs. Maria Navarro
Mrs. Maria Del Refugio Nol Quirarte Navarro, 62, of the Snyder community, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at her residence. Mrs. Navarro was a native of San Iqnacio Jalisco, Mexico; a resident of the Snyder Community since 1996 and a former resident of Ameca Jalisco, Mexico. She was a homemaker and a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Hamburg.
She is survived by her husband, Gerardo Navarro of Snyder; seven sons, Ramon Navarro of Lake Village, Jesus Navarro of Montrose, Pedro Navarro of Tyro, Gerardo Navarro of El Dorado, Gustavo Navarro of Lake Village, Pablo Navarro of Nevada and Carlos Navarro of Montrose; five daughters, Leticia Mondragon of Snyder, Atanacia Gomez of Texas, Carolina Jimenez of Boydell, and Maria Jimenez and Maria Elena Navarro of Snyder; three brothers, Gabrid, Hilario & Ruben Nol of Mexico; two sisters, Maria & Juana Nol of Mexico; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 31, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg with Rev. Ariel Hernandez officiating. Interment will be in the Calle Posito Sin Numero Pantion in Ameca Jalisco, Mexico. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg.
Mrs. Vera Lee Rice
Mrs. Vera Lee Rice, 83, of Hamburg died Saturday, June 2, 2001, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. Mrs. Rice was a native of Kilbourne, LA, a resident of Hamburg for many years, a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Rice in 1987; a daughter, Linda Rice Collins in 1988; an infant daughter, Kitty Lou Cinder; her parents, Van & Nora Gatlin Pullin; two sisters and a brother.
She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Charles Rice & Mickey Rice Hamburg; two daughters, Betty Sue Hunter of Columbia, S.C., and Brenda Carnell of Hamburg; two brothers, Ralph Pullin of Warren and Rev. Charles Pullin of Hamburg; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Kinney of Navasota, TX and Bobbie Sue Carpenter of Hamburg, 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m., Monday, June 4, in the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Revs. Charles Pullin, Mike Titsworth & Joey Meredith officiating. Pallbearers were Dustin Carnell, Luke & Gary Brown, Colby Collins, Rex & Scott Hunter, Christopher, Jason, Greg & Petie Rice. Interment followed services at the Zion Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg.
Mable Milton Ross
Mable Milton Ross, 74, of Crossett died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at her home. A native of Wilmot and a Crossett resident for the past 42 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church on Florida Street. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jessie Knox and Dennis McAdoo; a granddaughter, Hannah Foster; and her father, James Milton.
Survivors include her husband, Napoleon Ross; one daughter, Karen Foster of Crossett; two adopted daughters, Denita Baldwin of Milwaukee, WI, and Inger Williams of Crossett; her mother, Lucreshia Milton; a brother, Wardell Whaley of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters, Mary Kidd of Los Angeles, CA, and Elizabeth Duckery of Wilmot; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2, in the First Baptist Church on Florida with Rev. Curtis Jackson officiating. Pallbearers were Robert Baldwin, Cornelius Brown, Calvin and Johnny Duckery, and Kevin and Rodney Hollins. Honorary pallbearers were Darren McAdoo, Jr. and Sr., Deverick McAdoo, Christopher and Nicholas Ball, Randy Williams, Adam and Nicholas Knox and Stanley Goree.
Burial followed services at the Westview Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
CARL ADAMS
Carl “Deanie” Adams, 65, of Hamburg, died Jan. 24, 2015 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.
He was a lifetime resident of Hamburg, a retired logging contractor and a member of First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Hattie Pollock Adams; a sister, Virginia Ann Adams and four brothers, George Glenn Adams, Charles Louis Adams, Clifton “Chubby” Adams and James Adams.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Goodwin Adams of Hamburg; two daughters, Emily Adams Wright and Carly Adams Deweese, both of Hamburg; three brothers, Donald Adams and Richard Adams, both of Hamburg and W.T. Adams of Crossett; a grandchild and other relatives.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
