Jack David Townley
Jack David Townley, 45, of Crossett died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at his home. Born July 22, 1955, to Belton Albert and Jo Ann Johnson Townley, he worked for Georgia-Pacific as a back tender and was a member of the Jarvis Chapel Baptist Church and the McCormic-Hill Deer Camp. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved sports, coaching girls softball at Huttig High School last year.
Survivors include a son, Bradley Jonathan Townley of Salt Lake City, UT; his parents, Belton "Dugan" and Jo Ann Townley; two brothers, Ricky and Randy Dale Townley; a sister, Kimberly Watson, all of Crossett; three nephews, five nieces, two great-nieces and one great-nephew.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, May 25, in the Jarvis Chapel Baptist Church with Revs. Gayle Riles and Ray Hearron officiating. Pallbearers were Dan Doughty, Tony Blann, David Thomas, Mike Matthews, Jerry Gill, Steve Hebert, Brent Stokes and Jimmy Lloyd Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Griffis, Bobby Vickers, Jerry Pahal, Doug Garner and Dale Bolin.
Burial followed services at the Crossroads
Cemetery, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.

Ronald Paul Wilkens
Ronald Paul Wilkens, 79, of Crossett, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001. He was born on November 29, 1921 to Ernest H. and Nellie Bridgeford Wilkens. Mr. Wilkens was a member of Masonic Lodge #1328 of Houston, TX, and a World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary Wilkens of Crossett; three sons, Ronald Paul Wilkens Jr. of Hockley, TX, Randy Harville of Plantersville, TX, and David Harville of Cypress, TX; two daughters, Janis Dietzel of Houston, TX, and Evelyn Harville of Crossett; one sister, Dorothy Alban of Freeport, TX; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 25, at Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett with Carlton White, John Reed and Dan Bonnette officiating. Pallbearers were Harold and Jimmy Bonnette, Bill Carpenter, and Leon, Frankie and A.E. White. Interment followed at Pinewood Memorial Park.

Irene Rice Boyd
Irene Rice Boyd, 92, formerly of South Fulton, Tennessee, died May 13, 2001, at Belmont Village in Memphis where she had made her home for the last two years. Mrs. Boyd was born May 15, 1908, in Milo to the late Mallie V. and Maybell Moffatt Rice. She was reared in Milo and graduated from Crossett High School. She had been employed as a clerk in the Ashley County School Superintendent's office in Hamburg and was instrumental in establishing the Parks and Recreation Department in Arkansas. She and her late husband, Paul G. Boyd, moved to South Fulton where they owned and operated a gas company for many years. She was a member of Fulton First Baptist Church and a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was also an avid bridge player.
Survivors include a brother, Forrest Rice of Crossett; three grandchildren, Irene Templeton Smith of Cordova, TN, Paul Boyd Templeton of Harrisonburg, VA, and Ann Thomas Templeton of Enumclaw, WA; and one great-grandson, Thomas Hudson Smith of Cordova.
She was presided in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Templeton; a brother, Floyd W. Rice; and three sisters, Annabelle Crane, Marie Branson Barton, and Myrtle Rice.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, at the Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, Kentucky. Burial was in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 115, Second Street, Fulton, KY 42041, or the Alzheimer Association, 3960 Knight Arnold Road, Suite 215A, Memphis, TN 38118.

Ms. Diane Pryor Harper
Ms. Diane Pryor Harper, 54, of Hamburg died Thursday, May 17, 2001, south of Monticello. She was a native of and raised in Crossett and was a resident of Hamburg for the past 28 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hamburg and a former member of the First Baptist Church in Crossett. She was a homemaker, worked with pre-school children for many years, and helped start the girls softball program in Hamburg, and she loved to write poetry.
She is survived by a daughter, Kim Smalling and husband Mark of Little Rock; a son, Chris Harper of Monticello; her parents, Fred & Audrey Phillips Pryor of Crossett; three brothers, Fred Pryor, Jr. of Windermere, FL, John Pryor of Little Rock and Phil Pryor of Azle, TX; three sisters, Carolyn Morgan of Branson, MO, Pam McKinney of Crossett and Beverly Pryor of Dallas, TX; and two grandchildren, Connor & Corbin Smalling of Little Rock.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 19, in the First United Methodist Church of Hamburg with Revs. John Alston and Leslee Phillips officiating. Pallbearers were Michael, David & Scott Temple, J. D. Andrews, Donnie McKinney and Robert Morgan. Interment followed services at the Pinewood Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the Diane Pryor Harper Memorial Fund to Benefit Children; c/o Farmers Bank, PO Box 350, Hamburg, AR 71646 or to First National Bank, 218 Main St., Crossett, AR 71635.
