Benjamin Prentiss White
Benjamin Prentiss White, 89, of Warren died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation in Warren. Born November 22, 1911, to the late Benjamin Thomas and Alice Elizabeth Watkins White, he was a retired Potlatch Corp. employee, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and a member of Warren Lodge #33, F&AM. He was preceded in death by his wives, Faloah Jolley White, who died in 1947, and Syble Willia Phillips White, who died June 24, 1997; and two sons, John D. and Richard B. White.
Survivors include three sons, Robert L. White of Crossett, Henry C. White of Stuttgart and Donald Ed White of Hampton; three daughters, Ann Adams of St. Louis, MO, Sherry A. White of Warren and Susie Knight of Hamburg; two brothers, Rev. R. V. White of Wilmar and Clifton White of Crossett; 15 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Monday, May 21, in the Frazer's chapel in Warren with Revs. R. V. White and Larry Donaldson officiating. Pallbearers were Leon Burton, James Kitchens, Donnie Baker, Danny Durey, Mike Brumley, Sammy Hayes, Lewis Smith and William E. White, Honorary pallbearers were Jackie Williams and Dr. Kerry Pennington. Burial followed services at Oakland Cemetery.
Roy Phillip Wisecarver
Roy Phillip Wisecarver, 78, of El Dorado, formerly of Crossett, died Friday, May 18, 2001, at his home. Born September 17, 1922, to Ralph and Bertha Gilbert Wisecarver in Crossett, he was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and retired in 1985 from Georgia-Pacific after 42 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Warren Wisecarver, and a sister, Eugena Little.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Patsy Wisecarver of El Dorado; three sons, Phillip Wisecarver of Crossett, Kevin Wisecarver of Sparkman and William Wisecarver of El Dorado; a daughter, Stephanie Hamilton of Norphlet; a brother, Troy Wisecarver of Crossett; a sister, Juanita Bolton of Harrell; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20, in the First Assembly of God on Parkway with Revs. Gloria Green and Monroe Hill officiating. Pallbearers were Brent Sherrick, Robert Fletcher, Danny Courson, Charlie Frank Courson, Dee Wisecarver, Jay Wisecarver and Robert Dale Hill.
Burial followed services at the Crossroads Cemetery, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Frances Silliman King
Frances Silliman King, 70, of Conway died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at her home. Born May 3, 1931, in Conway to of V. M. "Buddy" and Velma Fletcher Silliman, she was a self employed businesswoman and a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James W. King; three daughters, Lynn Wilson of Greenbrier, Susan Brakefield of Alachua, FL, and Mary King of Conway; a brother, Vance L. Silliman of El dorado; two sisters, Wanda Blackwood of Hamburg, formerly of El Dorado; and Melba Phillips of Texarkana, TX; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Monday, May 14, in the Roller McNutt chapel in Conway with Rev. Robert Winters officiating. Pallbearers were Bob Blackwood, Matt McNeely, Chuck Phillips, Larry King, Kenny Harrison and W. Harrison. Burial followed services at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 10411 West Markham Street, Little Rock, AR 72201.
KEN TAYLOR, JR.
Ken Taylor, Jr., 54, of Montrose, formerly of Crossett, died March 21, 2015 as the result of an automobile accident.
Memorial services are at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at First United Methodist Church in Crossett, with Dr. Russell Moore officiating.
He was a truck driver and a member of Greggton United Methodist Church in Longview, Texas.
He was preceded in death by a son, Connor Taylor and his grandparents, J.D. and Laura Mae Frazier and Dalton and Lois Taylor.
He is survived by a son, Jeffery Taylor of Crossett; a daughter, Ashley Taylor of College Station, Texas; his parents, Kenneth Taylor Sr. and Janis Frazier Taylor of Cantonment, Fla.; two sisters, Rita Harrison of Cantonment, Fla. and Amy Beckett of Ozark, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 500 Main Street, Crossett, AR 71635 or to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1394 Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, Fla., 32514.
Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
