Mildred Ann Kincaid
Mildred Ann Allison Kincaid, 64, of Crossett died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at her home. Born May 3, 1937, in Hamburg to Herman and Virginia Eastwood Allison, she was a retired employee of Georgia-Pacific Corp and was a member of South Main Baptist Church where she was involved in numerous activities. She was a former member of the Order of the Amaranth, and she enjoyed working in her yard. Mrs. Kincaid was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Kincaid.
Survivors include her mother, Virginia Allison of Vivian, LA; two sisters, Carla Sue Walton of Shreveport, LA, and Gayle Cox of Vivian, LA; one niece, Tasha Beck; and numerous cousins and other relatives.
Funeral services were planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, in the South Main Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmie Lewis officiating. Interment was to follow services at the Cleveland Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Jeffie Monroe Wilson
Jeffie Monroe Wilson, 81, of Crossett died Friday, May 4, 2001, at the Ashley County Medical Center. Born in Dabney, AR, on December 22, 1919, to Raleigh and Lillian Davis Wilson, he was a member of the First Assembly of God in Crossett, and at the time of his death, he attended the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, of which he was a founding member and deacon on the board. He was an U. S. Army veteran and loved hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, and two stepchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Wilson of Crossett; a son, Tommy Wilson of Hampton; two daughters, Linda Dufrene of Des Allemands, LA, and Naomi Everett of Portland; three sisters, Marry Bedwell of Salem, MO, Irene Davis of Atlanta, TX, and Ruth Null of Fordyce; three stepchildren, Ruth Miller of Crossett, Ben Frisby of New Summerfield, TX, and David Frisby of Monticello; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, in the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church with Revs. Lee Nunley, Warren Finney and Charles Miller officiating. Pallbearers were Donald Forbes, Sidney Dufrene, Joey Wilson, Shane Dykes, Michael Frisby and Lee Frisby. Honorary pallbearers were the congregation of the church. Burial followed services at the Crossroads Cemetery, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
William W. "Wimp" Boyd
William W. "Wimp" Boyd, 70, of Crossett died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at the Ashley County Medical Center. Born January 13, 1931, to Percy and Susie Brady Boyd, he retired from the Georgia-Pacific paper mill after 42 years. He was preceded in death by a brother, P. K. Boyd, and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Fannie Boyd of Crossett; a daughter, Patricia Brantley and husband Kent; two grandsons, Chris Brantley and wife Angela and Jason Brantley, and a great-grandson, Tyler Brantley, all of Junction City.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 29, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett with Bros. Jimmy Lewis and Steve Franklin officiating. Pallbearers were Henry Carter, James Coleman, Bobby Croswell, Billy Howie, Mike Brown, Frank Dolan, Nicky Burt and Keith Craig. Honorary pallbearers were Dewey Carter, Bobby Burt and David Rice. Burial followed services at the Crossroads Cemetery.
WAYNE MIDDLEBROOKS
Wayne “Buddy” Middlebrooks, 94, of Bastrop, La., died Dec. 3, 2015.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Meridian Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kevin McDaniel officiating.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clem B. and Minnie Harris Middlebrooks and five brothers, L.E. Middlebrooks, Bobby Middlebrooks, James Middlebrooks, Lawrence Middlebrooks and Edward Middlebrooks.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Jane O’Neal; a brother, C.J. Middlebrooks; two sisters, Catherine Farrar and Ida Mae Spikes; three grandchildren, a great-grandchild and other relatives.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Don Jones, Danny Jones, Darwin “GoGo” Jones, Danny Jordan, Mike Hinton, and Herman White.
Golden Funeral Home of Bastrop, La. is in charge of arrangements.
