Lucille Fleming Pruett
Lucille Fleming Pruett, 87, of Crossett, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at the Ashley County Medical Center. Born on July 12, 1913, to William and Cora Lee Dodd, Mrs. Pruett had worked for the Ashley County Medical Center as a clerk for 15 years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Crossett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Fleming.
Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy Hooks and Evelyn Kelley, both of Crossett; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, at the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett with Don Ward and Randy Maxwell officiating. Pallbearers were Frank Dodd, D.C. Dodd, Danny Dodd, Brian Pruett, Scott Pruett, and Jerry Roland Dodd. Interment followed services at Lakewood
Cemetery (Old Crossett Cemetery).

Miss Eloise Richardson
Miss Eloise Richardson, 74, of Portland, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at the Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. A native of Parkdale and a resident of Portland for most of her life, she was a homemaker, a member of the Portland United Methodist Church, and loved life, people and children. She was preceded in death by her parents, J. D. & Maggie Kindness Richardson.
She is survived by two brothers, Jack K. Richardson of Hamburg and Earl R. Richardson of Onalaska, TX; a sister, Margaret Pennington of Austin, TX; two nieces, one nephew and several great nieces and nephews.
Grave-side funeral services and interment were at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 5, at the Parkdale Cemetery with Rev. Gerald Myers officiating. Funeral services were by Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg.

Virginia Lang Sasser
Virginia Lang Sasser, 86, widow of Ira L. Sasser, died on April 6, 2001. Born October 12, 1914, in Collins to Elmer and Maude Ross Lang, Mrs. Sasser was a member of First Baptist Church of Crossett. She retired after teaching for 31 years in Collins, Hamburg, Enon and Bellaire Academy in Arkansas and Springhill and Bastrop, LA. She was preceded in death by an infant son and two brothers, Tom Lang of Pascagoula, Miss., and Frank Lang of Fallon, Nev.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Shirley Sasser of Crossett; one sister, Mary France Jasay of Little Rock; one brother and sister-in-law, Willard D. and Gennell Lang of Summerville, S.C.; three grandchildren, Carla Sasser Christian and husband Bill of Germantown, Tenn., Scott Sasser and wife Donna of Crossett and Jason Sasser of Crossett; five great-granddaughters, Danielle, Meredith and Kaitlin Christian, and Carli and Sadie Sasser.
Grave-side funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, April 9, at the Collins
Cemetery in Collins, with Dr. David Newberry and Rev. Randy Maxwell officiating. Pallbearers were Carey Philley, Ed Dumas, Bud Bulloch, Ted Carmichael, Jr., Bob Kizer and Bobby Owens, At 1 p.m., the family conducted a memorial service at the Collins Baptist Church. Arrangements under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.

KAY THORN
Kay Fudickar Thorn of Monroe, Louisiana returned to her heavenly home on February 20, 2017, at the age of 76. Kay attended Northeast Louisiana University. She and her husband were the owners and operators of Thorn’s Communications for 32 years. Kay was a member of the State of Louisiana Life Safety and Property Protection Board. Kay received the Presidential Service Award in 2010 for her lifetime commitment of service to Louisiana Electronic Systems Industry. For years, Kay was active in the International Cake Exploration Societe (ICES) who, in 1993, recognized her for significant contributions to the art form of cake decorating by inducting her into the ICES Hall of Fame.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence L. Thorn, father, Ernest Williams Fudickar, mother, Francis Pettiss Fudickar, and brother, Paul Fudickar, III.
Survivors include her sisters, Libby Beckett (Don) of Crossett, Arkansas, and Betty Birmingham of Shreveport, Louisiana; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The family would like to provide heartfelt thanks to Norman Gilbert, Jeff Ellerman, Onice Williams, Pam Williams, Bryan Thorn, and Toni Thorn for their loving care and support throughout the years.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Beckett, Norman Gilbert, Jeff Ellerman, and Bryan Thorn.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, Louisiana, with graveside services following at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 1:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in the memory of Kay be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
