Lucille Futhey Laiche
Lucille Futhey Laiche, 91, a life-long resident of Crossett, died Friday, March 30, 2001, at the St. Francis Medical Center. Born November 8, 1909, to Eugene Augusta and Nannie Leona Hathaway Futhey in Hamburg, she retired after 34 years as a secretary for Crossett Forestry, a division of Georgia Pacific, and she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crossett.
Survivors include her husband, Roland Joseph Laiche of Crossett; a special niece who made her home with them and they considered a daughter, Nona Maxcy Jordan and husband Don of West Monroe, LA; a grandson, Damon and wife Sondra Jordan of Shreveport, LA; a granddaughter, Lisa Payton and husband Richard of West Monroe; two great-grandsons, Zachary Jordan and Colton Payton; two great-granddaughters, Victoria Jordan and Jordan Payton; two nieces, a nephew, and several grand-nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 31, in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett with Rev. Jimmie Lewis officiating. Pallbearers were Eugene Burnett, Walter Carpenter, Billy Jack Ragland, Bobby Brooks, Rusty McCaughan, Doogie Darling and Bruce Martar. Honorary pallbearers were Billy Wayne Yarbrough, Walter White, Ashley Williams and Carroll Haisty.
Burial followed services at Pinewood Memorial Park.

Mr. J. P. (John) Malloy
Mr. J. P. (John) Malloy, 79, of Ogden, Utah, formally of Fountain Hill, died Tuesday, March 27, in Ogden. Mr. Malloy was a native of Fountain Hill and a resident of Ogden since 1945. After going to Fountain Hill School, Mr. Malloy served in the C.C. Camp for two years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Air-Sea Rescue Unit in the South Pacific Flying P.B. Catalinas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Malloy; his parents, Roy C. & Violet Malloy and two brothers, Lester & G.W. Malloy.
He is survived by a son, Dan; a step-son, Kelly; three daughters, Susan, Patricia & Michelle; three brothers, Alvin Malloy of North Little Rock, Carnell Malloy of Crossett and Preston Malloy of Hamburg; two sisters, June Evans and Joyce Ann Johnson of Hamburg; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Grave-side funeral services are 11 a.m., Friday, March 30, 2001 at the Aultorest Memorial Park Cemetery in Ogden, Utah. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Myers Mortuary in Ogden, Utah.

Mr. Charles J. Martin
Mr. Charles J. Martin, 73, of Hamburg died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. A native of Gillett, a resident of Hamburg for the past 34 years and a former resident of Parkdale, and Ashfork, AZ, he retired from P. E. Barnes pallet mill in 1982 and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eula V. Martin in 1999; a son, Jimmy Don Martin, in 1958; a daughter, Penny Louise Martin in 1966; his parents, Nathaniel Thomas & Rebecca Pope Martin; four brothers, Thomas Martin, Jr., Frank, Wilburn & Earl Martin; two sisters, Pearl Martin & Lucille Askew.
He is survived by three sons, Thomas Martin of Hamburg, Charles Wilburn Martin of Parkdale and Mike Martin of Hamburg; two daughters, Diane Thomas of Hamburg and Myrtle Carter of Crossett; two sisters, Sue Cossey of Hamburg and Marie Roark of Peru, IN; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services are set for 3 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg with Revs. Charles Pullin & E. W. Ricks officiating. Pallbearers are to be Dewayne Collier, Butch Zaunbrecher, Bruce King, Chris Johnston, Johnny Barrett, Carrol Parker, Frank Edward Ricks and Andy Tanksley. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews. Interment will be in the Bell Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Bell Cemetery Association, c/o Mr. Jack McManus, PO Box 114, Parkdale, AR 71661.

Mrs. Maurine Weeks McDaniel
Mrs. Maurine Weeks McDaniel, 87, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at the Beverly Health Care Center in Hamburg. Mrs. McDaniel was a native of Houston, MS; a resident of Hamburg since 1949 and a former resident of Round Lake, MS. She was a homemaker and a member of the Nazarene Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey McDaniel in 1999; a daughter, Doris Daugherty; a son, Harold McDaniel; her parents, John G. & Mattie Spurell Weeks; three brothers and a sister.
She is survived by two daughters, Mae Daughtery and husband Ben of West Monroe, LA and Pat Sled and husband Charles of Malvern; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Grave-side funeral services and interment were at 10 a.m., Friday, March 30, 2001 at the Promise Land Cemetery with Rev. Charles Pullin officiating. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg.
