Jonathan Ray Craft, Jr.
Jonathan Ray Craft, Jr., an infant, of Crossett, died September 3, 2001, at the Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. He was born July 12, 2001, to Jonathan Ray Sr., and Crystal Pepper Craft.
Survivors in addition to his parents are two brothers, Tony Pepper and Thomas James Craft; one sister, Selena Craft, all of Crossett; grandparents Starr and Tommy Boles of Crossett, David Pepper of Jonesboro, LA, Ronnie and Terrie Craft of Redfield and Beth Duncan of Pine Bluff; and a great-grandmother, Wanda Jones.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, in the Unity Baptist Church with Dale Jordan officiating. Burial followed services at the Unity Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Doris M. Farrar
Doris M. Farrar, 78, of Crossett died Monday, September 3, 2001, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital. Born January 7, 1923, to Willie B. and Myrtle Willis McDougald, she was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking and working her flowers. She was the last surviving charter member of the West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church and was preceded in death by an infant sister, Elise McDougald.
Survivors include her husband, A. G. Farrar; one son, Buddy Farrar; one daughter, Gwen Shaffer; two sisters, Helen Sivils and Joyce Dubose, all of Crossett; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, in the West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Franklin and Donnie Dubose officiating. Pallbearers were Steve, David and John Paul Shaffer, Mike Purtle, K. K. Fox and Steven Roberts. Burial followed services at the Crossroads Cemetery, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Mr. Gaston Harrison
Funeral services for Mr. Gaston Harrison, 101, of Bastrop, LA, were at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, in the Golden Funeral Home chapel with Revs. Howard Hudson and Leslee Phillips officiating. Burial followed services at the Extra Cemetery.
Mr. Harrison, a farmer and member of the Extra United Methodist Church, died Wednesday, August 29, 2001, at the Hickory Manor Nursing Home in Bastrop. He was preceded in death by his wife, Launa Sawyer Harrison; two sisters, Birdie Kitchens and Zelma Harber; two brothers, Lee Harrison and Herbert Harrison; and one grandson, Jeffery Jenkins.
Survivors are two daughters, Mary K. Jenkins of Pine Bluff and Dorothy Atkins of Bastrop; one brother, Bealie Harrison of Bastrop; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Steve Atkins, Jim Atkins, Morris Jenkins, Mark Jenkins, Vernon Harrison, and James Harber. Honorary pallbearers were Buddy Anderson, Dr. Robert Lyon, Julian Kinnaird, George "Red" Kinnaird, Vernon Cain, Doyle Kitchens, John E. "BoBo" Harrison, Kelly Pugh, Kent Williamson and Richard Nicholson.
Gary Randall Honeycutt, Sr.
Gary Randall Honeycutt, Sr., 54, of Crossett died Tuesday, September 4, 2001. Born January 1, 1947, in Camden to W. T. and Bessie Domanski Honeycutt, he was employed as an electrical and instrument technician at Georgia-Pacific and was a member of the Church of the Redeemer. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed duck and deer hunting, fishing and golf.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Honeycutt of Crossett; a son, Gary Randall Honeycutt, Jr., of El Dorado; a daughter, Ursula Dyer of Longview, TX; his mother, Bessie Honeycutt of Crossett; one sister, Jan Gillespie of Crossett; a stepson, Morgan Sneed of Crossett; a stepdaughter, Megan Ostner of Memphis, TN; and five grandchildren, Brandon Dyer, Tyler, Cody and Owen Honeycutt and Savannah Ostner.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 6, in the First Baptist Church with Bros. Kirk Hall and Jerry Grant officiating. Pallbearers were Paul Rainwater, Gary Draper, John Miles, Gary Higginbotham, Don Sullivan, Richard Byrd, Jimmy Pennington and Danny Malone.
Burial followed services at Pinewood Memorial Park, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
