Mrs. Deila Mae Holcomb
Mrs. Deila Mae Holcomb, 91, of Wilmot died Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at her residence. A native and life long resident of Wilmot, she was a homemaker and a member of the Wilmot Baptist Church and Delta Chapter 571 of the Eastern Star, Delta Chapter 571. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Evans Holcomb, in 1966; a son, Arthur Carlton Holcomb, in 1981; her parents, William & Lillie Long Warren; two brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by a daughter, Gladys Jean Holcomb McAlister and husband Fred Leon McAlister of Jones, LA; three granddaughters, Robin McAlister Mangione and husband Michael of Fayetteville, Elizabeth McAlister Monk and husband Dwayne L. of Choudrant, LA and Ashley McAlister Hurst and husband Kevin of Jones, LA; and six great-grandchildren, Sara Elizabeth & Hannah Leigh Monk, Cody McAllister Hurst, Evan James Hurst, Ryan Thomas Hurst and Dominic Mangione.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 12, in the Wilmot Baptist Church with Rev. Dwayne L. Monk officiating. Pallbearers were Darrell Clifton, Danny Simms, James Crossley, Tracy Mayo, Kevin Hurst, Michael Mangione, Leland Pruitt and Travis Warren. Interment followed services at the Dry Bayou Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg.

Richard John Weber
Richard John Weber, 44, of Crossett died Monday, July 2, 2001 at his residence. He was born in Canton, Ohio, on August 1, 1956, to Richard J. and Anabella Engle Weber.
He is survived by his wife, Helene Weber of Crossett; his mother, Anabella Weber; three sisters, Gretchen Haren, Kate Sponseller and Kirsten Boswell; three brothers, John Weber, Marling Weber and Mark Weber, all of Ohio; and one stepson, Chance Word.
A Memorial Mass of Resurrection was held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, July 6, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church. Arrangements were by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.

Bettie Jane Wesley
Bettie Jane Wesley, 58 of Little Rock, who was born April 19, 1943, to Inezer Wesley Sanders and Jessie L. Woodson in Eudora, departed her life at UAMS in Little Rock, Tuesday, July 10, 2001. Mrs. Wesley was baptized at age ten on August 15, 1953, by the late Rev. E.D. Handie at Zion Chapel Baptist Church. She later joined Independence Full Gospel Church where she served as church pianist and remained a faithful member until her death.
Mrs. Wesley was a 1961 graduate of East Side High School of Eudora and a 1965 graduate of Philander Smith College, Little Rock. She was a mentor to six siblings that followed in her footsteps and attended/graduated from Philander Smith College.
An accomplished pianist since age twelve, Bettie was the pianist for the Zion Chapel Sunday School; Sister Pearlie Williams and the Stars of Faith; Midway Baptist Church, Old Shiloh; St. Paul, Eudora, and St. Paul, Green Ridge; Second Baptist Church, 29th and High, Little Rock; Greater Shiloh, North Little Rock; First Baptist Church, Higgins; Faith Temple, Little Rock; and God's House of Deliverance, Jacksonville. She also enjoyed teaching piano to many students, both in Eudora and Little Rock.
Mrs. Wesley was formerly employed at Philander Smith College, the State Department of Education and NPT, Inc. Her mother, Inezer Wesley Sanders; father, Jessie L. Woodson; brothers, Jessie Jr. and Kenneth Woodson; grandparents and niece, LaTanya Webster, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wesley is survived by two sons, Marlon D. Wesley, Little Rock, and Kevin J. Jones, Conway; two granddaughters, Elexus and Kira Jones, Little Rock; sisters, Vertie and husband Raymond Staples of Eudora, Johnette and husband John Walker of Wilmot, Joyce Webster and Vaughneier and husband William Davis, both of Little Rock, Brenda, Althea and Pamela Woodson of Richmond, CA; brothers, Bonnie and wife Brenda Sanders and Cedric Wesley of Little Rock, Curtiss Wesley of Sherman, TX, Terrill, Keith, Rodney and Ralph Woodson of Richmond, CA; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services was held Saturday, July 14, at 11 a.m. at Zion Chapel M. Baptist Church in Eudora with Rev. Clyde Sanders, Rev. Rodrick Torrence, and the pastor, Rev. Glen Donald officiating. Burial was in Hill Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of Eudora.

Mary Jane Beck
Mary Jane Beck, 59, of Crossett died Friday, July 6, 2001, at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Born July 10, 1941, to Houston T. and Lula Charlene Hamilton Childers, she was a homemaker, a member of the Second Baptist Church, a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Wallace Beck; two daughters, Karen Harrington and Connie Jordan, all of Crossett; two sisters, Ramona Savage of Chatham, LA, and Pat Lunsford of Crossett; a granddaughter, Jane Marie Jordan of Crossett; and a very dear friend, Rose Surratt.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 8, in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett with Clay Courson and Bill Elton officiating. Pallbearers were Curtis "Elmo" McDill, Wayne Keith, Charles Rice, John and Talbot Surratt, Jason Savage and Tim Jordan,
Burial followed services at the Crossroads Cemetery.
