Biographical And Historical Memoirs of Pulaski, Jefferson, Lonoke, Faulkner, Grant, Saline, Perry, Garland And Hot Spring Counties, Arkansas

Clarence Doyle Coody, Sr.
Clarence Doyle Coody, Sr., 70, of Crossett died Saturday, June 30, 2001, at the Crossett Leisure Lodge. Born October 18, 1930, to Clarence E. and Doris Lochala Coody in Hamburg, he was a carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Betty Ann McNeice.
Survivors include two sons, Doyle Coody, Jr., of Crossett and Kenny Wayne Coody of El Dorado; a daughter, Helen McNeice of Crossett; a stepson, Willie Earl Pollock of Bastrop, LA; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, July 2, in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett with Revs. Jason Dubwig and James Fleming officiating. Pallbearers were Michael West, David Goodwin, Rusty Linares, Dustin Smith, Dearl Patrick, Ronnie Bowen and Jarred Bowen.
Burial followed services at the Antioch Cemetery.

Thelma Ruth Harrison
Thelma Ruth Harrison, 90, of Dermott, formerly of Wilmot, died Friday, June 29, 2001, at Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. She was born January 28, 1911, in Atkins to the late Arthur and Molly Ethel Holloway Myers. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Whitfield Harrison, and a son, Delbert Ray Harrison.
She is survived by two sons, James L. Harrison of Monroe, LA, and Billy Ralph Harrison of Gardendale, TX; six daughters, Margaret Hensley of Bastrop, LA, Edith Marie Gay of Monroe, LA, Frances Marilyn Barnes of Bellaire, Thelma Fay "Sissy" Echlin of Star City, Nancy Sue Barnes of Dover, Shirley Jean Makovec of Dermott; one sister, Rea Johnson of Hamburg; 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 1, in the Griffin Funeral Home chapel in McGehee with Rev. Ricky Burke officiating. Burial followed services at the Beech Creek Cemetery near Hamburg.

Lee Andrew Smith
Lee Andrew Smith, 49, of Toledo, OH, died Monday, June 18, 2001, in Toledo. Born December 20, 1951, in Wilmot to the late Tom and Alma Smith, he moved to Toledo as a young child and attended Libbey High School. He was employed with the city of Toledo for a number of years in the refuge, parks and recreation department and held various other jobs until his health failed in 1992. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John L. King.
He
marriage Crystal Owens in May, 1980. Survivors include a son, Lee Smith, Jr., of Toledo; two brothers, Felton and wife Milreen Benton of Toledo and Lorenzo Smith of South Bend, IN; three sisters, Lottie and husband Curtis Haskins of Wilmot, Tommie L. Harris and Rosa White and husband Moses of Toledo; an aunt and great-aunt, Theola McNeal and Bennie Mae Browning of Toledo; and a special friend, Karen Lehman.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, June 25, in the Day Funeral Home in Toledo with Bishop Harold E. Haynes, Sr., officiating. Pallbearers were Curtis Haskins, Jr., Felix Jones, Tony Harris, Kenneth Strickland, Moses White, Jr., Cornell Benton, Wilbert Brown and Gerald Haskins. Honorary pallbearers were Felton Benton, Curtis Haskins, Sr., and Moses White, Sr. Burial followed series at the Forest Cemetery.

Bobby James Wallace
Bobby James Wallace, 68, of Malvern died Monday, June 23, 2001, at the Arkansas Hospice in North Little Rock. Born July 13, 1932, in Snyder to the late John Franklin and Mary E. Fuel Wallace, he was employed as a store manager of Davis Lumber Company. He was a Mason and a member of the John F. Wallace Hunting Club and the Glen Rose Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Kathryn Grace Abercrombie.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Page Wallace of Malvern; two sons, John Ralph Wallace of Benton and Anthony A. Wallace of Sanger, TX; a stepson, John Clift of Magnet Cove; two daughters, Betty Catherine Clardy and Mary Suzanne Abercrombie of Garland, TX; two stepdaughters, Regina Jackson of Malvern and Sherry Antrim of Dardanelle; his stepmother, Elsie Wallace of Malvern; a brother, Jackie Wallace of Pine Bluff; four sisters, Merle Smith, Joyce Clift and Diane Williams of Malvern and Karen Bierbaum of Hamburg; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m Thursday, June 28, in the Glen Rose Missionary Baptist Church with Bros. Shawn Hill and Gary Copeland officiating. Pallbearers were James Clift, Ralph Speer, Bill Taylor, Danny Jones, Steve Collie, George Wilson and Emmitt and Travis Wallace. Honorary pallbearers were members of the John F. Wallace Hunting Club.
Burial followed services with full military honors at the Promise Land
Cemetery near Hamburg with arrangements by Atkinson Funeral Home of Malvern. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Hospice, 2200 Fort Roots Drive, North Little Rock, AR 72114-1709.
