December 1, 1929, to Arthur Pullen and Laura Ellen Maxwell Carter in Crossett, she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, I. B Carter; and a son, Larry Smith.
Survivors include four sons, Michael Smith of Hot Springs; I. B. Carter III, Joe Carter and Tony Carter of Crossett; three daughters, Jan Sellers of Crossett, Barbara Smith of California and Joan Jolley of El Dorado; three sisters, Dorothy Hilburn and Shirley Carter of Crossett and Gracie Roberts of Hamburg; 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 14, in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett with Bro. Dan Webb officiating.
Ozell Childress
Ozell Childress, 79, of Crossett died Friday, December 14, 2001, at the Beverly Health Care in Crossett. A native of Warren, but a resident of Crossett the past 55 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Fudge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Georgia Rounder Davis.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, I. V. Childress; and a host of nephews and nieces, and other family and friends.
Funeral services were planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, in the Fudge Baptist Church in the White Station community with Rev. Jesse Radford officiating. Deacons and trustees of the church were to be pallbearers. Burial was to follow services at the Ryles Chapel Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
Carolyn Howie Clark
Carolyn Howie Clark, 66, of the Pumpkin Center community outside Hammond, LA, died Friday, December 16, 2001, at her home. A native of the Mount Pleasant community and a former resident of Kenner, LA, she was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Erma Caldwell Howie; and a brother, Robert Howie.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald L. Clark of the Pumpkin Center community; two daughters, Jacquese C. Ricks of Pumpkin Center and Sandra C. Roberts of Houston, TX; four granddaughters, Rebekah Kelley, Ashley Roberts, Katie Ricks and Kristin Roberts; and one brother, Edward Howie of Starts, LA.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, December 17, in the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Eugene Howie officiating. Arrangements were by Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home of Hammond, LA.
