Joe Willis
Joe Willis, 79, of Crossett died Thursday, November 22, 2001, at the Leisure Lodge nursing home. Born April 25, 1922, to Lemmie and Lottie Stell Ware Willis, he was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pearlie Bates Willis; a son, Michael Joe Willis; and a grandson, Patrick Morgan.
Survivors include his wife, Dois Allen Willis of Crossett; two sons, Roddy Willis of Nacogdoches, TX, and Dewayne Willis of El Dorado; one stepson, Doyle Shook; a daughter, Debra Morgan of Coushatta, LA; a brother, L. D. Willis of Warren; two sisters, Charleen Doss and Gracie Harris of Hamburg; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 24, in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett with David Newberry and Roy Craig officiating. Pallbearers were Dennis Rice, Scotty Fletcher, Willis Doss, Joey Bledsoe, John Morgan, and Jeff Willis. Honorary pallbearers were members of his Sunday School class.
Burial followed services at the Flat Creek Cemetery.

Clayton Fielder, Jr.
Clayton Fielder, Jr., 85, of Wilmot died Saturday, November 10, 2001, at the Beverly Health Care in Lake Village. A native of Wilmot and a former resident of Parkdale, he was a retired farm laborer and a member of the Union Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Nicey Jackson Fielder; two brothers, Gene and Jerry Fielder; and one sister, Nettie Jordan.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Girtha Fielder; one son, Earl Clayton Fielder of Woodfield, TX; two daughters, Lois Fielder of Wilmot and Nicey Fielder of Monticello; a stepdaughter, Joyce Singleton of Lake Village; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Friday, November 16, in the Union Baptist Church with Rev. Jessie Knight officiating. Pallbearers were the deacons of the church. Burial followed services at the Childress Chapel Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.

Shiree Johnson
Ms. Shiree Shuntay Johnson, 35, of Hamburg died Saturday, November 17, 2001, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. A native of Crossett and a life long resident of Hamburg, she graduated from Hamburg High School in 1985 and later attended the Bastrop Beauty School and became a licensed nail technician. She was a faithful and devoted employee of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg for the past eight years and worked part-time at The Works Hair and Nail Studio. She attended the Christ Temple Church in Hamburg and was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Latiffany Nicole Johnson and her grandmother, Mary Ann Trice.
She is survived by a daughter, Ashley Amanda Johnson; a son, Jonathun Demon Clark; her mother, Rebecca J. Miller; and her husband, Elijah, all of Hamburg; her father, Carnell Curenton of Flint, MI; four sisters, Tammy Nimmer and husband Lee, Vernicia Huggins and husband Allen of Hamburg, Shayla Quinn and Desha Curenton of Flint, MI; three brothers, Barron Johnson and wife Tamela and Adrian Tucker of Hamburg and Carnell Kyle Curenton of Flint, MI; her grandfather, J.O. Johnson, and his wife, Lucelle, of Hamburg; her grandmother, Wesola Adkins of Flint, MI; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were planned at 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 21, in the Christ Temple Church in Hamburg with Rev. Alfonso Madden, Sr., officiating. Pallbearers were to be Nathan Miller, Marvin Walter, David Dennis, Richard Hatchet, Jr., Cannon Foster, Vincent Foster, Undra Reynolds and Darren Roberts. Honorary pallbearers were to be J.O. Johnson, Elijah Miller, Barron Johnson, Adrian Tucker, Lee Nimmer and Allen Huggins. Interment was to follow services in the Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg.

Chester Raymond King
Chester Raymond King, 65, of Crossett died Tuesday, November 13, 2001, at his home. Born on October 23, 1936, in Sandgate, VT, to Jessie and Della Theresa Sherman King, he was a mechanic and an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by a son, Gilbert G. King; his parents, three brothers, Jessie, George, and Austin King; and two sisters, Pearl Lavictorie and Joan Merrill.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Rice King of Crossett; two daughters, Connie Buckner and Tammy Kelley of Crossett; one brother, Gilbert King of Granville, NY; a foster brother, Forrest Mason Cabool, MO, and five grandchildren.
Grave-side services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 15, in the Arkadelphia Cemery with Carlton White officiating. Arrangements were by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
