Mr. Robert "Bobby" Selby
Mr. Robert "Bobby" Selby, 60, of Lake Village died Monday, November 12, 2001, in Lake Village. Mr. Selby was a native of Ashley County; a resident of Lake Village for the past six years and a resident of Montrose for most of his life. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He was a retired farmer and an agriculture pilot and a member of the Lake Village Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Derryberry Selby of Lake Village; a son Chris Allen Selby of Monticello; two daughters, Lisa Smith of Lake Village and Suzanne Singleton of Watson; a step-son, Waylon Brown of Monticello; two step-daughters, Tillie Brune of Norfolk, VA, and Carrie Milholland of Monticello; his parents, R.D. & Doris Nelms Selby of Montrose; a brother, Jerry Selby of Portland; two sisters, Nina Pamplin of Monticello and Patricia Wright of Farmerville, LA; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 14, in the Lake Village Baptist Church with Revs. Mike Bell & Larry Donaldson officiating. Pallbearers were Philip, Ted & Eric Selby, Jody Moreau, Freddy & Thad Selby. Honorary pallbearers were Homer Beavers, Hardy Pope, Bruce Bond & Gerald Martin. Interment followed services at the Snyder Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the Lake Village Baptist Church, 301 N. Lakeshore Drive, Lake Village, AR 71653.

Mrs. Orpha Lee Spurlock
Mrs. Orpha Lee Spurlock, 83, of Hamburg died Tuesday, November 13, 2001, at her residence outside Hamburg. A native of Pottsville, a resident of Hamburg for the past 10 years and a resident of Wilmot for most of her life, she was a homemaker and a member of the Wilmot Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen E. Spurlock, Sr., in 1980; her parents, Robert & Pearl Holloway Staggs; two brothers, Lorrell & John Staggs; two sisters, Ruth Allison and Essie Myers and an infant sister.
She is survived by two sons, Allen and Marvin Spurlock of Crossett; two daughters, Lois Englerth and Shirley Meeks of Hamburg; three sisters, Lois Jones of Panama City, FL, Grace Gribble of Minden, LA, and Helen Coulter of Sheridan; a special friend, Judy Ricks of Fountain Hill; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 15, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg with Rev. Robin Allen officiating. Pallbearers were Jeffery Spurlock, Kenneth Barrett, Larry Meeks, Michael Elton, Kenny & Johnathan Cameron. Interment followed servcices at the Wilmot Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the Wilmot Cemetery Association, c/o Delta Trust, PO Box 95, Wilmot, AR 71676.

Mavis Lavon Thomas
Mavis Lavon Thomas, 72, of Warren died Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Bradley County Medical Center. Born Dec. 30, 1928, in Cleveland County to the late Arlis Owen Jackson and Gladie Moree Hall Jackson, she was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ginger Lynn Thomas; and two brothers, Ray Owen Jackson and Woodie Dale Bloodworth.
Survivors include her husband Travis James "Boe" Thomas; two sons, James Arlis Thomas of Monticello and Danny Ray Thomas of Warren; two daughters, Nena Thomas of Warren and Becky McKamie of Hope; one brother, Bill Bloodworth of Livingston, TX; six sisters, Ruth Bloodworth Thomason of Monticello, Rachel Bloodworth of Pasadena, TX, Gladie Bloodworth Weigand of San Antonio, TX, Dorothy Davis of Little Rock, Cherry Bloodworth Sinclair of Hamburg, and Judy Bloodworth Hever of Grandberry, TX; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Frazer's Funeral Home chapel in Warren with burial following services at the Oakland
Cemetery.

Blanche Willard
Blanche Willard, 79 of Thaxton, MS, died Tuesday, November 6, 2001, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a homemaker, a retired employee of Emerson Electric, and a member of the Eastern Star the Pleasant Bale Baptist Church in Thaxton. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Oliver Barfield Jr. and Jared Willard.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, J.T. Willard of Thaxton, MS; three daughters, Sonja Barfield and husband Oliver Barfield of Hamburg, Tommie Karen Wood-Warren and husband Robert of Ponotoc, MS, and Jeannie Pence and husband Terry of Ponotoc; a son, Jackie Willard of Pontotoc; three sisters, Winnie Wallace and husband Jewell of Etta, MS, Tommie Burchfield and husband Olan of Zachary, LA, and Kathryn Fulton of St. Peters, MO; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were be at 11 a.m. on November 8 at the Mortimer Funeral Home Chapel in Ecru, MS, with Brother Doug Jones officiating. Pallbearers were Dale Rushing, Mark Wood, Robert Warren, Wayne Wood, Terry Pence and Jon Barfield. Honorary pallbearers were Oliver Barfield, Corey Rushing, Chris Barfield and Patrick Stanley. Burial followed services at the Warren Cemetery in Ponotoc County.
