Helen Marie Moore
Helen Marie Moore, 48, of Wilmot died Thursday, November 1, 2001, at the Rebsamen Medical Center in Jacksonville. A lifelong resident of Wilmot, a certified nurse's assistant and a member of the Second Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by her mother, Freddie Mae Rollins, and one sister, Maxine White.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. Harvest Moore; one daughter, Angie Jordan of Jacksonville; her father, Mr. Mack Rollins of Wilmot; seven brothers, Willie James, Carl and Willie Lee Rollins of Wilmot, Tommy and Michael Rollins of Los Angeles, CA, Johnny Rollins of Jones, LA, and Tracy Rollins of Little Rock; three sisters, Saretha Butler of Wilmot and Jackie and Pat Rollins of Little Rock and four grandchildren.
Funeral services are planned for 1 p.m. Friday, November 9, in the Second Baptist Church with Rev. L. M. Christian officiating. Pallbearers are to be Billy Kitchen, William Jackson, Bruce Rollins, Michael Rollins and Rodney White. Burial will follow services at the Second Baptist Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.

Katie Knowles Willis
Katie Knowles Willis, 79, formerly of Crossett, died Monday, October 28, 2001, at her residence in Austin, TX. Born July 3, 1922, in Wilmar to Jesse and Mamie Senn Knowles, she was a homemaker, an avid gardener and a member of the First Baptist Church. She loved birds and enjoyed spending time at her childhood home and with family and friends. A tremendous supporter of her late husband, Hugh Willis, and his work in the school system, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Pharris Knowles; and a sister, Emogene Harris.
Survivors include a son, Max Willis and wife Elizabeth Brumage of San Antonio, TX; one daughter, Kathy Willis and husband Patrick Schmidt of Austin, TX; three sisters, Virginia Brown of Pine Bluff, Marguerite Williams of Little Rock and Maxine Montgomery of Ashton, MD; and three grandchildren, Jesse Willis and Lee Willis of San Antonio, TX, and Will Schmidt of Austin, TX.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 1, in the First Baptist Church of Crossett with Dr. David Newberry officiating. Pallbearers were Robert Malloy, Lavon Abbott, Joe Cantley, James Willis, James Knowles, Jessie Willis and Gerrel Boast.
Burial followed services at 2 p.m. at the Union Ridge Cemetery with arrangements by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.

Rufus Obadiah Wood
Rufus Obadiah Wood, 97, of Humnoke died Monday, November 5, 2001 He was a member of Flynn Pentecostal Church and was a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors are two sons, Paul Wood and wife Betty of Bruce, MS, and Jimmy Wood and wife Nancy of Stuttgart; a daughter, Carolyn Lawson and husband Glen of Hamburg; a step-daughter, Faye Barth and husband Bob of Alamogordo, NM; a step-son, Bill Lokey and wife Helen of Carlisle; a step-daughter, Virginia Crawford of Kennett, Missouri; a sister, Ione Morris of Weed, CA; 24 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, in the Pentecostal Church of God in Humnoke with burial in Flynn Cemetery. Arrangements are by Roller-England Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Willie Lee Etheridge
Mrs. Willie Lee Higginbotham Etheridge, 99, of Hamburg, died Friday, October 26, 2001, at her daughter's residence in Amory, Mississippi. Mrs. Etheridge was a native of Ashley County and a life long resident of Hamburg. She was a homemaker and she worked for years in the Hamburg School lunch room and in the central supply at the Crossett Health Center. She was a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star Margaret Chapter 151 in Hamburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Etheridge, in 1950; a son, Ruben Allen Etheridge, in 1977; a foster daughter, Lisa Maxwell in 2000; and her parents, Will & Ella Ingram Higginbotham; five brothers, Harold, Leroy, Garvin, Rush & Joe Higginbotham; and three sisters, Nellie Patterson, Edna Riley and Virdelle McDonald.
She is survived by a son, Rev. W.F. "Rick" Etheridge of Sheridan; a daughter, Nell Johnston of Amory, MS; a daughter-in-law, Merlene Etheridge of Hamburg; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 28, in the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Revs. Jackie Adams & Joey Meredith officiating. Pallbearers were Pete Higginbotham, Charles Akers, Walter Chester, Kenneth Leigh, Lynn Croswell and Doyle Sivils. Grandsons were honorary pallbearers. Interment followed services in the Hamburg Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 400 W. Washington Street, Hamburg, AR 71646.
