April 1, 1922, in Cincinnati, Ark., he was the son of Jesse Albert and Avis (Murray) Butler.
Butler served during World War II in the U.S. Army Military Police. He marriage Margaret June Tye on July 18, 1942, in Fayetteville, Ark. He was employed several years in the maintenance department at Siloam Springs Public Schools, Siloam Springs, Ark. He was also a retired police dispatcher for the Siloam Springs Police Department. He was a member of the Christie Freewill Baptist Church and served 40 years in the ministry as an evangelist.
Survivors include his children, Jesse F. Butler of Tahlequah, Okla., Carolyn J. Church of Harrison, Ark., Georgia Elaine Reed of Gentry, Ark., Ronald R. Butler of Paris, Texas, Jimmy L. Butler of West Siloam Springs, Lucinda D. Reeves of Muldrow, Okla., Lowell W. Butler of Siloam Springs and Daniel L. Butler of Stilwell; three brothers, Vernon Butler and Gary Butler, both of Westville, Okla., and Coy Butler of Krum, Texas; two sisters, Adean Summers of Olivehurst, Calif., and Etta Frazzel of Rogers, Ark., 24 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were April 11 at the Christie Freewill Baptist Church, with Brother Fred Nixon and Brother Joe Pigeon officiating. Interment followed at the Westville City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
