Alma Rae Walters

Alma Rae Walters, 83, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 24, 1921, in Siloam Springs to Albert Noll and Daisy Mae Hensley Noll.

She marriage J. C. Walters on June 14, 1940, in Siloam Springs. She was a homemaker and a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Siloam Springs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Walters; and a sister, Mattalou Noll.

Survivors include four sons, Jim Walters of Grove, Okla., Don Walters of Fort Smith, Ark., Gary Walters of Kansas, Okla., and Mike Walters of Lincoln, Ark.; a brother, John Noll of Siloam Springs, Ark.; a sister, Lois Harrison of Ponca City, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel in Siloam Springs with the Rev. Ralph DeVore.

Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs.

Arrangements are by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

O. J. Budd

O. J. Budd, 87, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at his home. Arrangements are pending with Callison-Lough Funeral Service of Bentonville, Ark.

Doyle Dean Wilkins, 71, of Claremore, Okla., died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at his home. He was born Jan. 14, 1934, in Decatur, Ark., to Elmer Wilkins and Anna Bohall Wilkins.

He lived most of his life in northwest Arkansas, where he was a self-employed homebuilder.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Natasha Snow; two brothers, George Wilkins and Zeb Wilkins; and a sister, Roberta Dose.

Survivors include his wife, Gerry Wilkins; two daughters, Jeanetta McGarrah of Siloam Springs, Ark., and Teresa Pollock of Claremore; a son, John Snow of Oologah, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, March 11, at Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at the Wasson Memorial Chapel with Dr. Steve Abbott. Burial will be at the Bethel Cemetery near Gravette, Ark.

Carolyn Pichadou Moore, 59, of Garfield, Ark., died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at her home. She was born Sept. 6, 1945, in Lake Charles, La., to Frances Pierre Pichadou and Alverna Bourseron Pichadou.

She was a school teacher. She enjoyed traveling and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frances Pichadou.

Survivors include her husband, Lee Moore; her mother, Alverna Pichadou of Lake Charles, La.; a sister, Barbara Fitzgerald of Mandeville, La.; and a niece, Nichole Davis of Mandeville. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 14, at Mount Hope Methodist Church in Arkansas City, Kan. Burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Arkansas City. Arrangements are by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers, Ark.

George Joseph Michaud

George Joseph Michaud, 58, of Gentry, Ark., died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at his home. He was born Nov. 20, 1946, in Augusta, Maine, to Wilfred Michaud and Blanche Carrier Michaud.

He retired from the military, having served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a Vietnam War veteran. He moved to the Gentry area 12 years ago.

He was preceded in death his by wife, Bertha E. Michaud, on Dec. 25, 2004.

Survivors include two daughters, Suzzette Michaud and Yvette Michaud, both of Gentry; his mother, Blanche Michaud of Augusta, Maine; and a sister, Pauline Fenton of Winthrop, Maine.

No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark.

William "Bill" Neil

William "Bill" Neil, 66, of Lowell, Ark., died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at his home. He was born May 12, 1938, in Lowell, Ark., to Hal Neil and Avo Kelley Neil. He was the valedictorian of the 1956 Rogers (Ark.) High School graduating class. He marriage Sharon Austin on Nov. 6, 1969. He was a Realtor for more than 40 years and an associate broker for Beacon Realty. He owned and operated McCamey Real Estate for several years and was most recently an associate broker for Griffin Co. Realtors. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lowell, the Metro Board of Realtors and the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed working.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Strange.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Austin Neil; three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Vowell and Robert Vowell of Lowell, Tammy Reese and Reeder Reese of Gotebo, Okla., and Michele Legan and Brent Legan of Fairview, W. Va.; a brother and sister-in-law, Dale Neil and Pat Neil of Lowell; and four grandchildren, Bobby Reeves Jr., Maggie Reeves, Taylor Legan and Brady Legan.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 10, at the First Baptist Church of Lowell with the Rev. Gary Thomas.

Burial was at the Goad Springs Cemetery in Lowell.

Pallbearers were Brent Legan, Robert Vowell, Reeder Reese, Pat Clardy, Taylor Legan, Bobby Reeves Jr. and Brady Legan.

Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Vanhook, Phillip Taldo, Gary Griffin, Mike Neil, George Davis and members of the Metro Board of Realtors.

Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale, Ark.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lowell Building Fund, P. O. Box 246, Lowell, AR 72745.

Harold A. ‘Cass’ Caskey

Harold A. "Cass" Caskey, 87, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at his home.

He was born August 30, 1917, in Webb, Iowa, to Millard Leslie Caskey and Effie Evelyn Mays Caskey.

He grew up on the family farm in Webb and graduated from Westmar College in Le Mars, Iowa, with a degree in physical education in 1939. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1940 until 1945 as a B-17 and B-24 pilot.

He marriage Phyllis Ploen on Aug. 30, 1944, in Minden, Iowa. He taught and coached at several eastern Iowa schools, before moving to Storm Lake, Iowa, in 1958. He later owned and operated Caskey Hardware in Newell, Iowa, for four years. In 1962 he joined Anderson Brass Company and was co-owner until retiring in 1980.

Following his retirement, he served as mayor of Newell for two years. In 1986, he and his wife moved to Arkansas and made their home in Bella Vista.

He enjoyed traveling, golf, fishing, woodworking and working outdoors. He was actively involved in the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, of which he was a charter member, as well as the Lions Club and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Lloyd Caskey and Stanley Caskey.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Phyllis Caskey of Bella Vista; three daughters and two sons-in-laws, Sue Gutz and Mel Gutz of Storm Lake, Carol Thomsen of Deerfield, Fla., and Minda Vazquez and Julio Vazquez of Bentonville; a brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence Caskey and Darlene Caskey of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Lee Caskey of Storm Lake, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 7 at the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 8 at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista with the Rev. James E. Still and the Rev. Tracey L. Evans. Burial will be at the Bella Vista Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 9063. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Parkinson Foundation, 710 W. 168 th Street, New York, NY, or to the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72714.

Wanda Barker

Wanda Barker, 72, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at a local nursing home.

She was born Aug. 26, 1932, in Lowell, Ark., to Harold King and Ruth Henley King.

She was a lifelong resident of the area.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dianna Hittson.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy Hittson of Pea Ridge, Ark.; a daughter, Raylene Hittson of Springdale, Ark.; a brother, Gerald "Sonny" King of Lowell; and three grandchildren, Donnie Hittson, Dana Shen and Scott Hittson.

There will be no visitation.

Graveside funeral service and burial will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 8 at Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.

Gerald Raymond Brubaker

Gerald Raymond Brubaker, 76, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville, Ark. He was born March 7, 1928, in Covina, Calif., to Leland Brubaker and Marie Woody Brubaker.

He was raised and educated in Elgin, Ill. He graduated from Manchester College in North Manchester, Ind. He marriage Elaine Garber on Dec. 24, 1950, in Princeton, Ind. He worked as a textbook salesman for Harper-Row (later Harper-Collins). He moved to Bella Vista in 1980 and worked for Random House publishing company. He later became an independent representative of several publishing companies. He enjoyed playing golf.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Brubaker.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Brubaker; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Brubaker and Sue Brubaker of Mount Prospect, Ill., and Eric Brubaker and Sandy Brubaker of France; a daughter, Beth Vavra of Kingwood, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Roy Brubaker and Lorraine Brubaker of Tallahassee, Fla.; six grandchildren, Monica, Rachel, Brian, Katie, Travis and Laura; and two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Jacob.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, at the Bella Vista Community Church with the Rev. Richard Lindman.

Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E. 33 rd St., Suite 1100, New York, NY 10016; to the American Cancer Society, 4 Kensington Lane, Bella Vista, AR 72714; or to the Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72715.
