Elmer E. Tipling
Elmer E. Tipling, 86, of Bentonville, Ark., died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Highlands Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bella Vista, Ark. He was born June 4, 1918, in Lincoln, Neb., to Joseph Tipling and Ethel Tipling.
He moved to Bentonville in 1977 after retiring from Fiber Board Manufacturing in Southgate, Calif. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received a Combat Infantry Badge, a Bronze Star, an Asiatic Pacific Medal, a Philippine Liberation Medal, a Good Conduct Medal and a World War II Victory Medal. He was a charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3031 in Rogers, Ark.
He was preceded in death by three daughters, Joy Ann Tipling, Frances Russell and Norma Vaughn; a son, William Tipling; and two sisters, Frances Stroh and Gertie Tipling.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Elmer Tipling Jr. and Mary Tipling of Gravette, Ark., and John Tipling of Denver, Colo.; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory, with the family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Graveside funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 18, at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark., with military honors provided by Rogers VFW Post 3031.
Mahala ‘Billie’ Jewel Burris
Mahala "Billie" Jewel Burris, 93, of Collinsville, Okla., died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at the Frances Streitel Senior Care Center in Collinsville. She was born May 5, 1911, in Lebanon, Mo., to Jim Starnes and Laura Belle Agee Starnes.
She was a retired nurse and a homemaker. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Siloam Springs, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Burris, in 1986; a daughter, Evelyn Phelps; and a sister, Farron Brown. Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Cotton of Skiatook, Okla. Graveside funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 18, at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs, Ark., with the Rev. J. W. Walker. Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
Mearl Robert McKinney
Mearl Robert McKinney, 91, of Fayetteville, Ark., died Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at his home. He was born April 7, 1913, in Gentry, Ark., to Clayborn Stephen McKinney and Martha B. Carl McKinney.
He graduated from Siloam Springs (Ark.) High School in 1933. He marriage Nadine King on Sept. 18, 1938, at the First United Methodist Church in Siloam Springs. He was employed with the American Can Co. for 34 years. He then worked with Floyd Pothast Realty and Ron Sherwood Realty. He and his wife joined the Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville on Sept. 25, 1938. He was the chairman of ushers and received a 50-year award for his service.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine King McKinney; a son and daughter-in-law, M. Robert McKinney Jr. and Marguerite McKinney of Claremore, Okla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Martha Nan Medley and Larry J. Medley of Oakton, Va.; and five grandchildren, Melissa Medley, Megan Medley, Powell McKinney, Todd McKinney and Sam McKinney.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, at the Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville with the Rev. J. Anthony Holifield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Central United Methodist Church Music Fund, Fayetteville, Ark.
Michael William Leroy McBroom
Michael William Leroy McBroom, 11, of Meeteetse, Wyo., died Sunday, March 13, 2005, as a result of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident near Meeteetse. He was born July 10, 1993, in Daly City, Calif., to Wayne McBroom and Pamela Carter McBroom.
He was a middle-school student in Meeteetse. He was active in sports, including football, basketball and Little League baseball. He enjoyed nature.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, William L. Carter, Wayne G. McBroom and Wilbur F. Browder; and two uncles, William Leroy Carter and Gary R. Carter.
Survivors include his parents, Wayne and Pamela McBroom; a brother, Matthew McBroom of Meeteetse; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Johanna Elder and Donald Elder of Stephenville, Texas, and Jessica McBroom and Michele McBroom, both of Meeteetse; his grandmothers, Dulcie Browder of Rogers, Ark., and Doris McBroom of Arlington, Wash.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 17, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, at Ballard Funeral Home of Cody, Wyo. Private burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Cody. Memorials may be made to the agency through which he was adopted: the Kinship Center, 124 River Road, Salinas, CA 93908.

Lawrence C. Mitchell
Lawrence C. Mitchell, 88, of Pea Ridge, Ark., died Wednesday, March 16, 2005, in Anderson, Mo. He was born June 27, 1916, in Mena, Ark., to David Mitchell and Lillie Mitchell.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army for almost five years. He then attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Ill. He spent more than 40 years as a minister in Missouri and Arkansas, moving to Rogers, Ark., in 1969 as pastor for the Calvary Baptist Church. He also worked as a carpenter. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, where he volunteered in the nursery, and more recently was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge. He was a volunteer at Samaritan House.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Velda Mitchell; a son, David Mitchell; a sister, Alice Jones; and five brothers, Lee Mitchell, Herman Mitchell, Floyd Mitchell, Ode Mitchell and Novis Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Mitchell; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn Natsch and Bob Natsch of Edmond, Okla., and Judy Mitchell of Killeen, Texas; a son, Philip Mitchell of Oklahoma City; a stepson, Terry Mitchell and his wife Mary Ellen Mitchell of Pineville, Mo.; two sisters, Emma Montgomery of Cabool, Mo., and Ruby Rush of Mountain Grove, Mo.; a brother, John Mitchell of Houston, Mo.; four grandchildren, Sheila, Noah, Kish and Jori; two step-grandchildren, Henry and Wade; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Katie.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers, Ark.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 21, at the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel with George Wisely.
Burial will be at the Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers.

Kathryn Ann Buettner
Kathryn Ann Buettner, 95, of Rogers, Ark., died Friday, March 11, 2005, at Innisfree Nursing Home in Rogers. She was born Nov. 22, 1909, in Holly, Colo., to Hiram Joseph Pierce and Katherine Klaus Pierce.
She marriage Frederick Buettner on Nov. 10, 1933, in Sioux City, Iowa. She retired as a bookkeeper in the building industry. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Frederick Buettner; and two sisters, Bertha Holt and Ruth Vondrak.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Edward J. Pierce and LaNell Pierce of Las Vegas, N. M.; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Service of Rogers.
Gabrielle "Gabby" Emogene Tripp
Gabrielle "Gabby" Emogene Tripp, 5, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, in Inola, Okla. She was born Nov. 12, 1999, in Coldwater, Mich., to Jessica Marie Tripp.
She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her grandparents, Brad and Claudette Tripp of Rogers, and Sherry and Craig Gaff of Coldwater, Mich.; her great-grandfather, Max Eggleston of Coldwater; her great-grandmother, Myrtle Slusher of Coldwater; and two aunts, Roxanne Renae Tripp of Rogers and Tricia Tappenden of Coldwater.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers with the Rev. Scott Speer.
Burial will be at a later date in Coldwater, Mich.
Jessica Marie Tripp
Jessica Marie Tripp, 26, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, in Inola, Okla. She was born May 8, 1978, in Ashland, Ore., to Sherry Jean Gaff and Brad R. Tripp.
She was the editor of the Broken Arrow Ledger. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her father, Brad Tripp and his wife Claudette Tripp of Rogers; her mother, Sherry Gaff and her husband Craig Gaff of Coldwater, Mich.; her maternal grandfather, Max Eggleston of Coldwater; her maternal grandmother, Myrtle Slusher of Coldwater; and two sisters, Roxanne Renae Tripp of Rogers and Tricia Tappenden of Coldwater.
