Bonnie L. Rystrom
Bonnie L. Rystrom, 73, of Bentonville, Ark., died Monday, April 4, 2005, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rogers. She was born July 6, 1931, in Hiwasse, Ark., to Olin "Jumper" Nichols and Hallie Lynn Nichols.
She was raised and educated in Hiwasse. She marriage Donald Rystrom on Feb. 25, 1967. She enjoyed her farm and her dogs, especially "Bubba."
She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Agnes Nichols; and two brothers, Leon Nichols and Robert Samuel Nichols.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bob Lyons and Janice Lyons of Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Dawn Rystrom, and Betty Casey and Charles Casey, all of Bentonville; a cousin, Madelyn Nichols of Hiwasse, Ark.; two grandchildren, Sean Casey and Sarah Casey; and a great-granddaughter, Hadley Casey.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home in Bella Vista, Ark.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 7, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Pamela Cicione.
Burial will be at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Hiwasse, Ark.

Martha Ann Cowgur
Martha Ann Cowgur, 53, of Centerton, Ark., died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at her home following a long illness. She was born Aug. 6, 1951, in Rogers, Ark., to Tommy Rusk and Jean Autry Rusk. She graduated from Bentonville High School in 1969 and worked for Wal-Mart Photo Processing for more than seven years. She drove a bus for the Bentonville Public Schools. She was a Methodist. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and taking trips to Branson, Mo. She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Rusk; and a brother, Burton Rusk.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Craig Cowgur; two sons, Matt Cowgur of Centerton and Richie Cowgur of Bella Vista, Ark.; a daughter, Rachel Ann Norton of Centerton; her mother, Jean Rusk of Centerton; a brother, Jerry Rusk of Centerton; and two granddaughters, Emma Bryan and Katie Bryan, both of Centerton.
There will be no public visitation.
Graveside funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, at the Centerton Cemetery with Chaplain Steve Dykes. Arrangements are by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers, Ark. Memorials may be made to Washington Regional Hospice, 34 W. Colt Square, Suite 1, Fayetteville, AR 72703.
G. H. Burke
Govan Harris Burke, 90, of Fayetteville, Ark., died Sunday, April 3, 2005, in Fayetteville. He was born June 23, 1914, in Marianna, Ark., to Francis Noel Burke and Bettie Govan Burke.
He was a retired attorney. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville and was a 32 nd degree Mason. He enjoyed reading.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas B. Burke; two brothers, John Burke and Frank Burke; and a sister, Mildred Stevens.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Bateman Burke; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles Burke and Ann Burke of Bentonville, Ark.; four grandchildren, Charles Burke, Charlotte Estes, Brian Burke and Becky Guthrie; and three great-grandchildren. No visitation is scheduled. Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at the Sons Chapel Cemetery in Fayetteville with the Rev. Lowell Grisham. Michael William Noah
Michael William Noah, 46, of Gravette, Ark., died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville, Ark. He was born July 14, 1958, in Gravette to Edward Noah and Lois Webb Noah.
He was a lifetime resident of the Gravette community, where he farmed.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Webb Noah, in 1991.
Survivors include his father, Edward Noah of Gravette.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at the Callison-Lough Funeral Chapel in Bentonville, Ark.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 7, at the Callison-Lough Chapel.
Burial will be at the Coffelt Cemetery in Gravette. Pallbearers will be Greg Webb Jr., Steve Keller, Rusty Williams, Ricky Reynolds, Bar-Bar "Pat" Bitterling, Jerry Morgan, Douglas Billings and Jack Hawley.
Florence L. Jones
Florence L. Jones, 68, of Joplin, Mo., died Monday, April 4, 2005, at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin. She was born Aug. 3, 1936, in Bentonville, Ark., to Francis L. Jones and Paralee Harpool Jones.
She graduated from Bentonville High School in 1954 and attended Draughns Business College in Springfield, Mo. She retired from the personnel department of Wal-Mart and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bentonville.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Ann Jones; and a brother, Charles L. Jones.
Survivors include a sister, Carol Fountain of Bentonville, Ark.; and a nephew, Charles Fountain and his wife Lori Fountain of Bentonville and their children, Kyle, Seth and Aleisa.
Graveside funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, at the Hart Cemetery in Bentonville, Ark., with Raymond Lambert. Arrangements are by the Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers, Ark. Mary Hunt
Mary Hunt, 85, of Pea Ridge, Ark., died Friday, April 1, 2005, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rogers, Ark. She was born May 22, 1919, in Independence, Mo., to Robert Ressler and Ruth Sarah Waters Ressler.
She moved from Bentonville, Ark., to Pea Ridge in 1978. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville. She was an award-winning artist, working in her "Windsong Studio" creating portraits and still lifes in oils and pastels. She studied with Albert Handell, Ben Konis and Charles Peer. Her portraits of local people, historic buildings and Native Americans were popular with collectors.
Her paintings had been shown at the Philbrook Museum in Tulsa, Okla.; the Walton Arts Center and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark.; Big Springs Gallery and Crowder College in Neosho, Mo.; John Brown University and the Sager Creek Art Center in Siloam Springs, Ark.; the Wishing Springs Gallery in Bella Vista, Ark.; and the Grove (Okla.) Gallery.
She was a founding member and vice president of the Ozark Pastel Society a member and vice president of the Rogers Art Guild, and a member of Artists of North Arkansas and the Village Art Club. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bonner Guy Hunt, on May 29, 1958; and a brother, Robert Eldridge Ressler. She is survived by a nephew, Doug Ressler of Tulsa, Okla. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at the Sisco Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Gibson. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs, Ark.
Ronald ‘Ron’ Lee Veneigh
Ronald "Ron" Lee Veneigh, 55, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rogers. He was born Oct. 15, 1949, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Leroy J. Veneigh and Thelma Burnett Veneigh.
He was employed by Wal-Mart, where he was a construction manager. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on April 30, 1974. He was an avid gardener and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara K. Griffith Veneigh; his father, Leroy J. Veneigh; and a sister.
Survivors include his wife of 11 years, LaJunta Veneigh, whom he marriage in Oklahoma City; a son, Aaron Lee Veneigh of Beaverton, Ore.; a daughter, Emily Veneigh of Fayetteville, Ark.; a stepson, T. Alexander Bryant of Noble, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Tairyn Shea Bryant of Fayetteville; and his mother, Thelma Veneigh of Oklahoma City.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 7, at Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers, with military honors provided by the Northwest Arkansas Honor Guard of Rogers. Cremation arrangements are by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 100, 711 W. Persimmon St., Rogers, AR 72756.
Robert W. Arnold
Robert Wendell Arnold, 83, of Springdale, Ark., died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Northwest Medical Center of Washington County in Springdale. He was born June 21, 1921, in Farmington, N. H., to Samuel Arnold and Helen Arnold.
He graduated from Farmington (N. H.) High School. He was retired from the Civil Service and was a Baptist. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, John Arnold and Peggy Arnold of Springdale, Richard Arnold and Connie Arnold of Gentry, Ark., and Robert Arnold and Carolyn Arnold of Dover, Tenn., and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Monday, April 4, at the Memorial Funeral Chapel in Springdale with the Rev. Jim Huffman.
Cremation arrangements were by Memorial Funeral Home of Springdale.
Hugh Thomas ‘Tom’ Platt IV
Hugh Thomas "Tom" Platt IV, 69, of Springdale, Ark., died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at his home following complications from Alzheimer’s disease. He was born Sept. 30, 1935, in Little Rock, Ark., to Hugh Thomas "Bud" Platt III and Emmy Kretschmar Platt.
He moved with his parents from Fort Smith, Ark., to Springdale in 1952, at which time the family purchased Jumbo Motor Supply in downtown Springdale. He graduated from Springdale High School in 1953 and from St. John’s College in Winfield, Kan., in 1955.
He marriage Roberta Eidson on Aug. 14, 1959. He received a bachelor of science in business administration degree in marketing from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1961. After completing his education, he continued as owner of Jumbo Motor Supply until his retirement in 1999.
He was a U.S. Army veteran. He served on the board of directors of the American Savings and Loan Association, and was a board member of the Automotive Service Industry Association and the Arkansas Wholesalers Association. He was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church in Springdale, where he served as a choir member and in many elected and voluntary leadership positions.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta Eidson Platt; a daughter, Kathryn Elizabeth Platt; a son, Mark Daniel Platt; his stepmother, Rosalie E. Platt of Fort Smith, Ark.; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan Parbhoo and Ernest Parbhoo of Lake Worth, Fla.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. Michael Platt and Bettye Platt of Rogers, Ark., and Dr. Richard Platt and Mary Platt of Pensacola, Fla.; two grandchildren, Ivy Dawn Platt and Aaron Xavier Platt; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, at Salem Lutheran Church in Springdale with Pastor Mark Louderback.
Private family burial will be held at a later date at the Zion Cemetery in Springdale.
Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.

Theda Leonard, 87, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Wednesday, March 16, 2005, in Siloam Springs. She was born Nov. 11, 1917, in Tulsa, Okla., to Joseph Adelma Swoveland and Edith May Garrison Swoveland. She was a registered nurse and had retired from the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. She was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. Survivors include a daughter, Marion Snyder of Garnett, Kan.; two brothers, Wayne Swoveland of Tucson, Ariz., and Earle Swoveland of Natchez, Miss.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 21, at the Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville, Ark., with the Rev. Larry Dodgen. Arrangements are by Nelson-Berna Funeral Home and Crematory of Fayetteville. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church in Fayetteville.
