Frances Price Nichols
Frances Price Nichols, 76, of Bentonville, Ark., died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at a local nursing home. She was born Nov. 8, 1928, in Pineville, Mo., to Cecil Price and Josephine Wardlaw Price.
She had lived in northwest Arkansas since 1954, moving from Pineville, Mo.
She was employed with CTS in Bentonville and retired after 14 years of service. She was a caregiver to many. She enjoyed listening to CDs, watching movies and camping.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, "Bob" Nichols, in 1999; and a brother, Joseph W. Price.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Hallie Jo Stockdale and Steve Stockdale of Morristown, Tenn., and Sammie Pruitt and Mitchell Pruitt of Bentonville; a brother, John Price of Pineville, Mo.; two sisters, Laura Gideon of Pineville and Thursa Plumlee of Rogers, Ark.; a granddaughter, Wendy Williamson of Bella Vista, Ark.; and a grandson, Dallas Pruitt of Bentonville.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at the United Methodist Church in Pineville, Mo., with the Rev. Tom Anderson.
Burial will be at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Hiwasse, Ark. Cremation arrangements are by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers, Ark. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, ®0 Broadway, New York, NY 10019.
Kyle Floyd Brown
Kyle Floyd Brown, 84, of Colcord, Okla., died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Northwest Medical Center of Washington County in Springdale, Ark. He was born Feb. 17, 1921, in Hunter, Kan., to Floyd Acton Brown and Alida Petit Brown.
He graduated magna cum laude from John Brown University in 1947 with a bachelor’s degree in dairy science. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a navigational instructor to pilots. After the war, he taught veterans under the Veterans on the Farm Training Program, teaching farming. He then began his own dairy farm near Colcord.
He served on the board of directors for the Farmers Co-op in Siloam Springs, on the board for the American Milk Producers Inc. and on the council of American Soil Conservation through the Delaware County (Okla.) Extension Office. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kansas, Okla., where he was a deacon and taught the adult men’s Sunday school class for 50 years.
He was preceded in death in 2001 by his wife, Evelyn Brown, whom he marriage on May 26, 1947, in Siloam Springs, Ark.; two sons, Acton Brown and Cecil Brown; and a grandson, Thomas Brown.
Survivors include two daughters, Talitha Lourie of Springdale, Ark., and Treva Malone of Muskogee, Okla.; two brothers, Dale Brown of Siloam Springs, Ark., and Orla Brown of McKinney, Texas; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 1, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at the First Baptist Church in Kansas, Okla., with the Rev. Jack Jones and the Rev. John Crawley.
Burial will be at the Kansas Cemetery.
Jimmy Dale ‘J. D.’ Shelley
Jimmy Dale "J. D." Shelley, 74, of Colcord, Okla., died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Northwest Medical Center of Washington County in Springdale, Ark. He was born May 27, 1930, in Delaware County, Okla., to John Shelley and Teelie Bradon Shelley.
He marriage Willa Mae "Bid" Clark on May 22, 1954, in Tahlequah, Okla. He had been a truck driver and retired from the Franklin Electric Co. in Siloam Springs. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mike Shelley; and a brother, Kenneth Shelley.
Survivors include his wife, Bid Shelley; two sons, Curtis Shelley of Colcord and David Shelley of Moseley, Okla.; a daughter, Julie Lockaby of Batesville, Ark.; three brothers, Phagan Shelley, Lonnie "Doc" Shelley and Bart Shelley, all of Moseley; a sister, Maxine Allison of Moseley; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 1, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel with the Rev. Brad Jinks. Burial will be at the Allen Cemetery, west of Siloam Springs, Ark.
Jim Robinette
Jim Robinette, 86, of Garfield, Ark., died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at his home. He was born Aug. 19, 1918, in Barry County, Mo., to Oscar Elgin Robinette and Lula Pearl Burton Robinette.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a self-employed carpenter. He marriage Edna Mae Horton on March 27, 1954, in Eureka Springs, Ark. He was a Baptist. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruby Lundy, Angie Lundy, Winnie Johns and Mabel Robinette; and four brothers, Buck Robinette, Hudson Robinette, Holmer Robinette and Herbert Robinette.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Edna Robinette; a son, Dan Robinette of Garfield; three daughters and two sonsin-law, Linda Jennings and Tom Jennings of Seligman, Mo., Kay Howerton and Ed Howerton of Rogers, Ark., and Sherry Robinette of Garfield; a sister, Georgia Dye of Garfield; and two grandchildren, Clay Howerton and Cody Howerton, both of Rogers. No visitation is scheduled. Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at the Seligman Cemetery in Seligman, Mo. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge, Ark.
Louise Whitaker
Louise Whitaker, 84, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Gentry and Siloam Springs, Ark., died Monday, March 28, 2005, in Lincoln, Neb. She was born Aug. 13, 1920, in Basil, Kan., to Amos Kaufman and Amelia Kaufman.
She lived most of her adult life in Gentry and Siloam Springs. She was active in the Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Whitaker; and three brothers, Victor Kaufman, Richard Kaufman and Eldon Kaufman.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jim Whitaker and Gayle Whitaker of San Ramon, Calif.; a daughter and son-in-law, Faye Moulton and Gary Moulton of Lincoln, Neb.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Leo Kaufman and Esther Kaufman of Gentry, Ark., and Harry Kaufman and Pat Kaufman of Tulsa, Okla.; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Dorothy Trammel of Dallas, Texas, Opal Moomey and Forest Moomey of Gentry, Ark., and Ellen Garvin and Glen Garvin of La Habra, Calif.; three sisters-in-law, Lily Kaufman of San Leandro, Calif., Faye Kaufman of Siloam Springs, Ark., and Jane Kaufman of Carney, Okla.; two grandsons, Jason Whitaker of San Francisco, Calif., and Russell Moulton of Big Sandy, Texas; three granddaughters, Kim Reynolds of Forest Grove, Ore., Luanne Harms of Ashland, Ore., and Donna Gemperle of San Jose, Calif.; four great-grandsons; six great-granddaughters; a great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

Arthur ‘Mac’ McCracken
Arthur "Mac" McCracken, 84, of Lowell, Ark., died Monday, March 28, 2005, in Springdale. He was born March 9, 1921, in Union County, Ohio, to Frank John McCracken and Katie Ilo Elliott McCracken.
He marriage Ann Ellison on Aug. 3, 1946. He was a member of Revival Tabernacle Church in Springdale, Ark. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a past worshipful master of the Masonic Lodge and a volunteer for the Pleasure Heights Fire Department, which he helped establish. He was an active gardener.
He was preceded in death by a son, Monte McCracken.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Ellison McCracken; two sons, Jerry Gene McCracken of Dallas, Texas, and John Michael McCracken of Fair Play, Mo.; two daughters, Patricia Roberts of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Cynthia Campbell of Loganville, Ga.; 13 grandchildren, Angela Campbell, Rebecca Campbell, Christopher Campbell, Matthew Alstrin, Todd Alstrin, Bradley Alstrin, Kimberly Alstrin, Joseph McCracken, Jamie Bowers, Michael Mc-Cracken, Emerald McCracken, Michael Roberts and Michelle Honel; and five great-grandchildren.

Verbena Violet Vanderslice
Verbena Violet Vanderslice, 82, of Anderson, Mo., died Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Mc-Donald County (Mo.) Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., to Levi G. Burton and Elva Turner Burton.
She was an accomplished artist and graduated from Southwestern Baptist Seminary. She worked for the Missouri Women’s Missionary Union before moving to Texas, where she was involved in Baptist Mission work. She moved to northwest Arkansas from Dallas, Texas, in October 2001.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Stella Sullivan.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, John Timothy Vanderslice; a daughter, Cherrie Lynn DeHart of Mesquite, Texas; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Regina Wright of Ironton, Mo., Elva Lee Strickland and Vernon Strickland of Bella Vista, Ark., and Lorene Heskett and John Heskett of Frankfurt, Ky.; and five grandchildren, Jessica, Kyle, Amber, Seth and Courtney.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8, at the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers, Ark., with Howard Fuller. Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark. Patricia Ellen Myers
Patricia Ellen Myers, 69, of Lowell, Ark., died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at her home. She was born Aug. 15, 1935, in McDonald, Kan., to Jessie James Yankey and Dorothy Ellen Minor Yankey. She was a retired restaurant worker and a Methodist. Survivors include two sons, Linas Yankey and Lionel Lee Myers, both of Lowell. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by Nelson-Berna Funeral Home and Crematory of Fayetteville, Ark.
Alma M. Roberts
Alma M. Roberts, 96, of Rogers, Ark., died Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Innisfree Nursing Center in Rogers. She was born Oct. 26, 1908, in Providence, R. I., to Fromhardt Jurgens and Mary Dolezal Jurgens.
She retired as an administrator for Aetna Insurance Co.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Walter Roberts.
Survivors include a daughter, Marie Roberts Klinzing of Rogers; and a niece, Beatrice Roberts of West Warwick, R. I. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 8, at the Callison-Lough Chapel in Rogers with Dr. Jacob Adler. Burial will be at the Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers. Dwight Ridenour
Dwight Ridenour, 62, of Springdale, Ark., died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, in Springdale. He was born Oct. 29, 1942, in Joplin, Mo., to Ray Ridenour and Lorraine Hanks Ridenour.
He was an electrician and worked as a security supervisor at Securitas Security Services.
Survivors include three sons, Randy Ridenour of Lowell, Ark., and Rick Ridenour and Richard Ridenour, both of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, Wendell Ridenour of Springdale; and a granddaughter, Casey Ridenour of Farmington, N. M.
