William E. Wallace

William E. Wallace, 82, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, at his home. He was born Aug. 4, 1922, in Hope, Ark., to John A. Wallace and Virginia M. Crone Wallace.

He served in the U.S. Army and retired as a lieutenant colonel in 1972 with 30 years of service. He graduated from Murray State University in Murray, Ky. He was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Rogers, a life member of the American Legion and the Military Officers Association of America, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Nomad Shrine Club as a Hospital Dad.

Survivors include his wife, Helen I. Wallace; a daughter, Nancy Lou Wallace of Fayetteville, Ark.; a brother, Arthur V. Wallace of Florida; a sister, Alice Louise Wallace Kelly of Little Rock, Ark.; a grandson, Jeremy March of Rogers; and three great-grandsons, Nathan March, Charles March and Steven March, all of Rogers.

A memorial service and Masonic service were held Friday, Oct. 8, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Rogers with Father Allen L. Bates. Graveside military honors were held at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark., provided by Bella Vista Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9063. Arrangements were by the Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers.

Memorials may be made to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Box 339, Rogers, AR 72757-0339; or to the Nomad Shrine Club, Hospital Dads, P.O. Box 171, Bentonville, AR 72712.

Archie Gentry Brown

Archie Gentry Brown, 45, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, April 3, 2005. He was born April 26, 1959, in Seville, Spain, to Archie G. Brown and Donna Rhea Harbin Brown.

He was a machine operator and served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Donna Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Brown; a son, Andy Brown of Springdale, Ark.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenda Bates and Johnny Bates of Buffalo, Mo., and Becky Gucene and Del Gucene of Oakdale, Calif.; and a grandson, Gage Brown of Springdale.

Arrangements were by Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers.

Memorials may be made to the Children's Advocacy Center, in care of Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth St., Bentonville, AR 72756.

Kathryn Ann Buettner

Kathryn Ann Buettner, 95, of Rogers, Ark., died Friday, March 11, 2005.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, April 13, at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Rogers with Pastor Gordon Besel. Burial was at Memorial National Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Service of Rogers.

Shirley F. Conner

She graduated from Bentonville High School in 1956. She was a majorette in the Bentonville High School Band and played clarinet. She moved back to Bentonville in 1990 from New Boston, Texas. She was a long-time member of the First Christian Church of Bentonville. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, taking walks, fishing, cooking and reading Christian books.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Joe W. Conner; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe W. Conner Jr. and Kimberly Conner of Coppell, Texas, and Marcus P. Conner and Janette Conner of Bentonville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cindy Hunt and Dean Hunt, and Jennifer Shuptrine, all of Bentonville; two brothers, John Moore of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Joe Moore of Springdale, Ark.; a sister, Louise Slyter of Rogers; five grandchildren, Stacey Hunt, Kristy Hunt and Marshall Conner, all of Bentonville, and Patrick Conner and John Conner, both of Coppell.

A graveside service was held Monday, April 11, at the Little Flock Cemetery with the Rev. Don Morrow. Funeral arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Bentonville, Building Fund, 807 S.E. 14th St., Bentonville, AR 72712.

Alvia Sherman Cooper

Alvia Sherman Cooper, 71, of Springdale, Ark., died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Northwest Medical Center of Washington County in Springdale. He was born Dec. 29, 1933, in Jefferson County, Ark., to Lewis Jacob Cooper and Lillie Lou Tucker Cooper.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Cooper; two brothers; and a sister.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 6, at the Brashears Funeral Home Chapel in Huntsville, Ark., with the Rev. Raymond Martin. Burial was at the Buckeye Cemetery in Buckeye, Ark.

Pallbearers were Allen Sloan, Tim Sloan, Randy Sloan, Chris Sloan, Preston Harriman and Aaron Fouch. Honorary pallbearers were R.C. Bolinger, Burse Sloan, Floyd Holloway, Walter Yell and Charles Day.

Teena Ann Craft

Teena Ann Craft, 48, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, April 4, 2005, at her home. She was born June 16, 1956, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Earl Lippoldt and Durel Lippoldt.

She moved to Rogers in 1975 from Kinsley, Kan. She enjoyed motorcycle riding, camping and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Lippoldt.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 6, at the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers with Steve Abb.

Robert Decker

Robert Decker, 66, of Hindsville, Ark., died Monday, April 4, 2005, in Springdale, Ark. He was born July 28, 1938, in Lebanon, Mo., to Everett Decker and Della Mae Casteel Decker.

He marriage Luevenia Sizemore on April 12, 1980. He served in the U.S. Army and worked in construction for several years. He attended Nob Hill Pentecostal Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Luevenia Sizemore Decker; a stepdaughter, Sherry Kirkland of Springdale, Ark.; two stepsons, Tony Brown of Clifty, Ark., and Scott Brown of Rogers, Ark.; three brothers, Chester Decker, Don Decker and Kenneth Decker, all of Lebanon, Mo.; two sisters, Gladys Henson and Betty Rogers, both of Lebanon; and four grandchildren, Lee Stinson, Devon Stinson, Christopher Brown and Jacob Brown.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 8, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Elvon Wolf. Burial was at the Burkshed Cemetery, south of War Eagle, Ark. Arrangements were by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale, Ark.

Hubert Reginald Hart Jr.

Hubert Reginald Hart Jr., 50, of Bryan, Texas, formerly of Springdale, Ark., died Saturday, April 2, 2005, in Bryan from injuries received in an auto accident. He was born May 2, 1954, in Amarillo, Texas, to Hubert Reginald Hart Sr. and Martha Wynelle Adams Hart.

He traveled with his family and had lived in Amarillo; Tucumcari, N.M.; Springdale, Ark., and later in Bryan. He attended Caprock High School in Amarillo. He was a welder and later specialized in air-conditioning and apartment-complex maintenance. He was a certified HVAC specialist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha Hart and Hubert Hart Sr.

Graveside funeral services were held Friday, April 8, at the Letitia Cemetery, east of Lawton, Okla., with Jim Antwine. Arrangements were by Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the March of Dimes, Wichita Mountain Division, 1511 West Gore Blvd., Lawton, OK 73501.

Charles R. James II

Charles R. James II, 31, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, April 3, 2005, in Joplin, Mo. He was born Dec. 25, 1973, in Lancaster, Calif., to Charles James and Hazel Bateman James.

Survivors include his parents, Charles and Hazel James of Rogers; a sister, Stacey Ann James of Rogers; a niece; and a nephew.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, April 6, at the Bible Baptist Church with the Rev. Claud Slate. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Service of Rogers.

Memorials may be made to the Bible Baptist Church Building Fund, 3307 N. Dixieland Road, Rogers, AR 72756.

Gary Lee McNair

He was an employee of the University of Arkansas Physical Plant. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Springdale, Ark.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristy Marlene McNair.

Survivors include two daughters, April Dawn McNair of Rogers, Ark., and Marcie Michelle McNair of Fayetteville, Ark.; two brothers, Boyd L. McNair of Watts, Okla., and Kenneth W. McNair of Rogers; two sisters, Gayle E. Deason of Cleburn, Texas, and Joyce K. Bolton of Spring Valley, Ark.; two grandchildren, Marylou Starr Engler and Mya Dalton; his former wife, Wanda June Goett of Fayetteville; a son-in-law, Dustin Engler of Fayetteville; a daughter-in-law, Stacy Burleson of Rogers; a niece; five nephews; three great-nieces; three great-nephews; and his caregivers.

Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, April 9, at the Elm Springs Cemetery in Elm Springs, Ark., with Charlie Foster. Arrangements were by Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville.

Juanita 'Grandma Mickey' Mears

Juanita "Grandma Mickey" Mears, 62, of Rogers, Ark., died Friday, April 8, 2005. She was born September 29, 1942, in San Pedro, Calif., to Claro and Rose Martinez Carlos.

She worked for McDonald's in Rogers and formerly at Los Angles United School District. She was a member of the Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Walt D. Holdbrook and Warren Mears; a brother, David Carlos; a sister, Terri Lyn Carlos, and a grandson, Brandyn Holdbrook.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Kenny Holdbrook Sr. and Jamie Holdbrook of Rogers; a daughter and daughter-in-law, Carol Holdbrook and Teresa Betts-Holdbrook of Rogers; three brothers, Edward Carlos of Scottsdale, Ariz., Richard Carlos of Torrance, Calif., and Daniel Carlos of Riverside, Calif.; six grandchildren, Mikayla Betts-Holdbrook, Kenneth Holdbrook Jr., Brooke Burns, Jessie Holdbrook, Samantha Burns and Jakobe Pinoski, all of Arkansas; six grandchildren in California; and two grandchildren in Florida.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
