Audrey Mae Hurt Wooten
Audrey Mae Hurt Wooten, 82, of Colcord, Okla., died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital in Siloam Springs, Ark. She was born July 7, 1923, in Cherokee City, Ark., to Payton "Doc" Hurt and Grace Kelley Hurt.
She marriage John B. Wooten, Sr. in Bentonville, Ark.
She was a homemaker and provided home care for the elderly. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wooten; a son, Calvin Wooten; three brothers, Troy Hurt, Barney Hurt, and Junior Hurt; and two infant siblings.
Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, Harl Wooten and Linda Wooten of Southwest City, Mo., John B. Wooten Jr. and Glanas Wooten, Sherrel Wooten and Kaye Wooten, Kevin "Bub" Wooten and Belle Wooten, and Roger Wooten and Jennifer Wooten, all of Colcord, Okla.; six daughters and four sons-in-law, Mavis Cochran and Johnny Cochran of Rapid City, S.D., Melva Scraper and Thomas Scraper, and Karen Wooten, all of Colcord, Janice Sisk and Mitchell Sisk of Rogers, Ark., Marilyn Teel of Siloam Springs, Jonnetta Marquis and Kip Marquis of Vinita, Okla.; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Roy Hurt and Jean Hurt, Glenn Hurt and Sue Hurt, and Marvin Hurt, all of Colcord; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Barbara Jackson and Paul Jackson of Tulsa, Okla., and Joyce Hurt of Colcord; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 29, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, with Brother Wilkes Harper and Pastor John Key. Burial was at the Dickson Cemetery near Cherokee City, Ark. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
John Lavern Adams
John Lavern Adams, 55, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born Oct. 5, 1950, in Boulder, Colo., to John Carl Adams and Shirley Etter Adams.
Survivors include: a brother, Chris Vaughn of Los Angeles, Calif.; three sisters, Jacque Ritchison of Decatur, Ark., Angela Fumasi of Bryan, Texas, and Carrie Stephens of Visalia, Calif.; an aunt, Gayle Weir of Rogers; and three cousins.
A memorial service was held Sunday, Nov. 27, at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers with Dianna Hartfield. Arrangements were under the direction of the Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.
Memorials maybe be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Doris Ruth Berryman
Doris Ruth Berryman, 76, of Bentonville, Ark., died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005. She was born April 22, 1929, in Malden, Mass., to Fred King and Olga Erickson King.
She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Berryman; a daughter-in-law, Katherine Berryman; and a brother, Bud King.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence Berryman; four sons, Ronald Berryman of Bentonville, Kenneth Berryman of Bella Vista, Ark., James Berryman of Caledonia, Mich., and Carl Berryman of Rogers, Ark.; three sisters, June Hirtle of Rochester, N.H., Patricia Donnely of Massachusetts and Lois Town of New Hampshire; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 25, at the Bentonville Cemetery. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Service of Bentonville.
Marie Bradshaw
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Survivors include her husband, George Bradshaw Sr.; a son, George "Brad" Bradshaw Jr., of Rogers; two daughters, Mary Bradshaw of Tampa, Fla., and Melissa Bradshaw of Live Oak, Fla.; a brother, William Thornbargh of Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Nancy White of Hannibal, Mo.; and three grandchildren.
Services were under the direction on Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers. Private burial was in the Rogers Cemetery.
Oscar F. Brown
Oscar F. Brown, 96, of Rogers, Ark., died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005, at his home. He was born Aug. 13, 1909, in Clifty, Ark., to Frederick Clinton Brown and Cherobia Elizabeth Brown.
He marriage May Belle Guinn on Feb. 28, 1936. The couple returned to this area in 1969 from Kansas. He worked for Beech Aircraft and Kice Metal Products and as a carpenter in Wichita, Kan. He retired from Emerson Electric in Rogers. He was a member of the First Christian Church, and Sunflower Lodge 86 AF &AM; of Wichita. He enjoyed cultivating roses.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the First Christian Church with Chris Pulliam. Burial was at the Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Service of Rogers.
Walter Richard Brown
Walter Richard Brown, 70, of Centerton, Ark., died Nov. 24, 2005, at his home. He was born Sept. 23, 1935, in Carthage, Mo., to Frank George and Clara L. Brown.
He moved to Fayetteville, Ark., as a teenager and graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1953. After two years at the University of Arkansas, he joined the U.S. Army in 1955. His 20 years of service included two tours of duty in South Korea, one in Vietnam and one in the Panama Canal Zone. He received numerous commendations and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3. After leaving military service, he was employed by the U of A in the chemical engineering department as a research assistant for 20 years.
He was an active member of Centerton Missionary Baptist Church and served as a deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Marie Warren, whom he marriage August 1956; a brother and sister-in-law, George Jackson Brown and Louis Brown of Searcy, Ark.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ellen Goff and Bill Goff of Cody, Wy., Kathy A. Brown and Randy Brown of Arlington, Texas; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry Keith Brown of Foxboro, Mass., and Alan R. Brown and Tammy Brown of Rogers, Ark., and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Bentonville, Ark. Graveside services were at the Oakland Cemetery on Old Wire Road in Washington County. Military honors were by the Rogers American Legion Post 100. Arrangements were by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Bentonville, Ark.
Lt. Col. Paul Norman Cohagan, Sr.
Lt. Col. Paul Norman Cohagan, Sr., 74, of Joplin, Mo., died Nov. 11, 2005. He was born March 24, 1931, in Joplin, Mo., to the late Claire G. Cohagan and Eva Landers Cohagan.
He began flying at the age of 14. He then served in the United States Air Force as a highly decorated pilot and retired in 1972 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
He was a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Joplin, Robert S. Thurman American Legion Post No. 13, Reserve Officers Association, Air Force Association and AOPA. He will also join his brothers in arms on the new Air Force memorial in Washington, D.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jack D. Cohagan of Joplin, Mo.
Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Bentonville, Ark. Services will be held with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
Judy Marlene Dye
Judy Marlene Dye, 61, of Garfield, Ark., died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers, Ark. She was born June 6, 1944, in Seattle, Wash., to Betty Ruth Seasly and James R. Harris.
She was a lifetime resident of northwest Arkansas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Garfield. She was a nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers for 23 years, where she worked in the intensive care nursery. She enjoyed baking, traveling, reading and lighthouses.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
A memorial service was held Monday, Nov. 28, at First Baptist Church of Garfield with her nephew, Pastor Ross Harris, and Pastor Benny Thompson.
Arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.
Memorials may be sent to the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation to be used for the intensive care nursery, 1200 W. Walnut St., Rogers, AR 72756, or to the library at Garfield First Baptist Church.
Arthur R. Franke
Arthur R. Franke, 89, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at the home of his son in Thayer, Mo. He was born April 13, 1916, in Accident, Md., to Richard C. Franke and Caroline Kromer Franke.
He marriage Luella Malchow in 1971 in Hardy, Ark., and moved to Rogers the same year. He worked for a self-employed landscaper and gardener and worked for the House of Webster. He was a longtime active member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Bentonville, Ark., and helped start two new missions. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a hunter, fisherman and gardener.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Franke; a sister; and three brothers.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 26, at Faith Lutheran Church in Bentonville with the Rev. Todd Jones. Burial was at the Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Franke, Nick Franke, Ben Franke, Keith Escue, John Escue and Lloyd Reihman.
James Wilbur Key
James Wilbur Key, 33, of Marietta, Okla., died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He was born Oct. 27, 1972, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Roger Dale Key and Elizabeth Anne Nuesmeyer Key.
He attended school in Seligman, Mo. He was a Baptist. He enjoyed fishing, games and watching TV, especially car races.
Survivors include his parents, Roger Key and Elizabeth Key of Rogers, Ark.; two sisters, Stephanie Stephens and Elaine Key, both of Marietta; two brothers, Nathan Key of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Roger Key of Fort Worth, Texas; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Woodley of Princeton, Texas; his paternal grandmother, Mary Sewall of Fort Worth; and 14 nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Monday, Nov. 21, in Marietta. Cremation arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge, Ark.
Linda Marie Martin
Linda Marie Martin, 58, of Lowell, Ark., died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, at her home. She was born Aug. 7, 1947, in Westwood, Calif., to Willard Martin and Faye Martin.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willard Martin; and an aunt, Juanita Spears.
Survivors include her mother, Faye Martin; a brother and sister-in-law, Dale Martin and Brenda Martin of Rogers, Ark.; a niece, Amy Troung; and three great-nieces, Caylin, Brinley and Ayden.
Graveside funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 28, at the Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers, Ark., with the Rev. Randy Brown. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.
