Frank John Papp
Frank John Papp, 76, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Feb. 1, 2006. He was born March 12, 1929, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Frank John Papp Sr. and Luella Caron Papp. He was raised and educated in Wisconsin. He married
Charlotte Bunge on June 20, 1952, in Cudahy, Wis. He was employed as a metallurgist for Ladish Co. for more than 40 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Jaycees and the Lions Club in Wisconsin. He moved to Bella Vista in 1994 from Cudahy. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Rinky-Dinks Golf Group.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Charlotte Papp; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward Frank Papp and Sabine Hecker-Papp of Whitefish Bay, Wis.; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen Marie Schneider and Donald E. Schneider of Wausau, Wis.; and five grandchildren, Jordan Schneider, Christian Schneider, Graham Schneider, Clara Elizabeth Papp and Christopher Papp.
A memorial service was held Feb. 4 at Grace Lutheran Church in Lowell, Ark., with Pastor Charles Huebner.
Arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

Dwain ‘Bud’ Alan Rostamo
Dwain "Bud" Alan Rostamo, 84, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Jan. 30, 2006, at Concordia Care Center in Bella Vista. He was born Dec. 10, 1921, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Cornelius Rostamo and Alma Kinney Rostamo.
He was raised and educated in Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Navy as a fighter pilot during World War II. He married
Rose Pearson on Dec. 22, 1944, in Jacksonville, Fla. He was employed as an air traffic controller at the Minneapolis International Airport for more than 31 years. He sang in the Minneapolis Appollo Club Chorus.
He retired and moved to Bella Vista in 1976. He was a charter member and past president of the Bella Vista Men’s Chorus. He was a member of the Bella Vista Community Church Choir and the Bella Vista Christian Church Choir. He was a member of the Men’s Nine-Hole Golf, was active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and drove the Bella Vista Courtesy Van.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Vickey Rostamo and Norma Martin.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Rose Rostamo; a son and daughter-in-law, Craig Rostamo and Cindy Rostamo of Minneapolis, Minn.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl Shaffer and Mark Shaffer of Rogers, Ark., Judy McCarty and Dr. David Mc-Carty of Minneapolis, and Wendy Peltier and Corrie Peltier of Maple Grove, Minn.; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert Rostamo and Terry Rostamo of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, LaVerne Vossler and Bob Vossler of San Jose, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Mary Will of Minneapolis; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Feb. 3 at the Bella Vista Christian Church with Pastor Andrew Rader. Arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bella Vista Christian Church, 103 Riordan Road, Bella Vista, AR 72714.
Richard Stephens Russ
Richard Stephens Russ, 95, of Mount Juliet, Tenn., formerly of Bella Vista, Ark., died Jan. 30, 2006, at his home following an extended illness. He was born Dec. 26, 1910, in Denver, Colo., to Adolph Russ and Lillian Russ. He graduated from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden in 1937. He worked for Alcoa for 13 years as a superintendent of maintenance at the Hurricane Creek Alumna Plant in Bauxite, Ark., and spent the last 24 years of his career as an engineering management executive for Reynolds Metals, also in Bauxite. During World War II, he served in the Office of Price Administration. He was a member of Rotary International and the Benton (Ark.) Chamber of Commerce.
In 1974, he and his wife, Margaret, retired to Bella Vista, where he served as chairman of Streets and Utilities and served twice on the Bella Vista Property Owners Association Board of Directors. In Bella Vista he was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Fly Tyers, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Model Train Historical Society and the 18-Hole and Nine-Hole Golfers. He enjoyed playing bridge, hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, playing tennis, gardening and building model railroads.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Margaret Paulsen Russ.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard S. Russ Jr. and Peggy Russ of Conway, Ark., Kent Russ and Susan Russ of Mount Juliet, and George P. Russ and Twila Russ of Maumelle, Ark.; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Johnson and Robert Johnson of Powder Springs, Ga.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in July in Denver.
Arrangements were by the Bond Memorial Chapel in Mount Juliet.

Emma Lena Strauss
Emma Lena Strauss, 93, of Bentonville, Ark., died Feb. 1, 2006, at Bradford House in Bentonville. She was born Aug. 13, 1912, in Parrall, Ohio, to Adolph Abrecht and Marie Stegmann Abrecht.
She married
La Vern W. Strauss on Feb. 9, 1935, in Dover, Ohio. She was a nurse and a homemaker. She was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church, the Bella Vista Duplicate Bridge Club and the Bella Vista 18-Hole Golf Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, La Vern W. Strauss; a brother, Otto Abrecht; and three sisters, Clara Abrecht Marburger Kinser, Martha Abrecht Groh and Frieda Abrecht.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William A. Strauss and Virginia Strauss of Urbandale, Iowa; a daughter and sister-in-law, Linda Picken and Neal A. Picken of Bentonville; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy Abrecht and Sandy Abrecht of Dover, Ohio; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
No services were planned.

Glenn Edward Underwood
Glenn Edward Underwood, 71, recently of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Feb. 1, 2006 at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville, Ark. He was born in Owosso, Mich. and moved to St. Petersburg, Fla. in 1953 where he lived for 52 years until moving to Arkansas in June 2005. A graduate of Florida State University, New York Institute of Finance and Ohio State University School of Real Estate Finance, he was employed by Pinellas County Financial Institutions for 26 years, retiring in 1993 as Senior Vice President of Lending at Anchor Savings Bank in St. Petersburg. An Air Force veteran, he served as a B-29 Airborne Radio Operator during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include a sister, Virginia Markham, of Bella Vista, Ark.; two nephews and several cousins. Local arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. Graveside service and burial was held by Jennings-Lyon Chapel in Owosso, Mich.
Helen H. Warner
Helen H. Warner, age 92, a Colorado Springs resident since 1998, formerly of Aurora, Ill. and Bella Vista, Ark., died Jan. 28, 2006 in Colorado Springs, Colo. She was born Aug. 25, 1913 in Yorkville, Ill., a daughter of the late Edwin and Laura Belle Burkhart Hahnestein.
Helen was also preceded in death by her husband, Bruce C. Warner, sister, Doris and a brother, Oliver. Helen was a retired school teacher, having taught at Lincoln Elementary and Todd Elementary Schools in Aurora, Ill. After her retirement, she and her husband moved to Bella Vista, Ark., and made that their home for 20 years.
She is survived by a son, Tom (Patti) Warner of Colorado Springs and a daughter, Carol J. Warner on Minneapolis, Minn., two grandsons, Andy B. Warner of Denver, Colo. and T. Scott Warner of Miami Beach, Fla.
Memorial services were held Feb. 4 at Holy Rosary Chapel 4435 Holiday Trail, Cascade, Colo.

John Edward Williams
John Edward Williams, 79, of Bella Vista, Ark., and Carthage, Mo., died Feb. 1, 2006, in Webster Groves, Mo. He was born Nov. 8, 1926, in Carthage to Harold E. Williams and Althea Bacon Williams. He joined the U.S. Navy Officers Candidate School during college, graduating from the University of Illinois in 1948. In 1950 he was recalled to active duty, serving until 1953, then remained in the U.S. Navy Reserve until the mid 1960s. He returned to Carthage in 1953 and started working in the family business, H. E. Williams Products Co., where he held multiple positions. He became chairman and CEO in 1980 and held the position of chairman of the board of directors until his retirement in 2003.
He was a 50-year member of the Carthage Rotary Club and a past president, and a member of Carthage American Legion Post 9, the Illuminating Engineering Society and Grace Episcopal Church in Carthage, where he was a former junior warden and vestry member, and was a former vestry member of St. Theodore’s Episcopal Church in Bella Vista.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, Chip Briscoe.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Williams; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark Williams and Stephanie Williams of Carthage, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Cathy Austin and her husband Daryl Austin of St. Louis, Mo.; a stepson, Chuck Briscoe of Albuquerque, N. M.; a sister, Virginia Williams Richard of Closter, N. J.; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Feb. 8 at Grace Episcopal Church, with Father Steve Wilson and the Rev. Ray Crews, followed by a private inurnment in the Grace Church Columbarium.
A second memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday Feb. 16, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Webster Groves, Mo.
Memorials may be made to the ALS Association, to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, to the Barnes Hospital Hospice Patient Fund in St. Louis, or to a church of the donor’s choice, in care of Knell Mortuary of Carthage, Mo.
Keith ‘K. C.’ Wright
Keith "K. C." Wright, 81, of Rogers, Ark., died Jan. 30, 2006, at a local health-care facility. He was born July 16, 1924, in Fairfax, Minn., to Ervin Wright and Lucretia Caver Wright.
He moved to northwest Arkansas in 1984 from California, where he was in the commercial and residential construction business. He built custom homes in Bella Vista and raised cattle. He was a member of the Elks and the Lions Club, and was a publisher of a novel written in 2001 titled "The LeBlanc Files." He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17, volunteering to be a submariner. He was the former state commander of the U.S. Submarine Veterans of World War II and was instrumental in getting the submarine USS Razorback permanently moored in Little Rock, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Dorlace Wright, in 2004.
Survivors include two sons, Patrick Junker of Corona, Calif., and Ronald Junker of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; four daughters, Pam Sakamoto of Montebello, Calif., Kimberly Fenton of Tehachapi, Calif., Nancy Lambert of Gallup, N. M., and Tina Webb of San Francisco, Calif.; a sister, Joan Wilson of Barstow, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.
No services are currently planned.
Cremation arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.
