and raised in Anderson, Ind., she enjoyed sailing, camping, and traveling with her husband of 60 years, Worth A. Johnson. She also loved having her children and grandchildren visit Bella Vista to enjoy the many attractions and activities. Worth and Jeanette were 21-year residents of Bella Vista and members of the United Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and one brother. She is survived by her brother Robert (Phoenix, Ariz.), daughter Marie (Pittsburgh, Penn.), sons Arvid (Sacramento, Calif.) and Nels ( Albuquerque, N. M.), six grandsons, and ten great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at United Lutheran Church Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006 at 2 p.m., with internment at the Bella Vista cemetery thereafter. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Alzheimer s Association in Bella Vista.

Patricia McCormick
Patricia McCormick, 93, of Fargo, N. D. died June 8, 2005 at MeritCare Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
Patricia was born March 10, 1912, in Fargo, N. D., the daughter of J. L. and Mary McCormick. She grew up in Fargo and received her education at Sacred Heart Academy. Patricia later graduated from North Dakota Agriculture College with a degree in Home Economics. After her education, she worked as a dietitian at a hospital in Stevens Point, Wis. She lived in Bella Vista for a number of years.
Patricia marriage Russell Moen on Nov. 29, 1937, at the Church of the Incarnation in Minneapolis, Minn. After their marriage, they made their home in Fargo where they raised their three daughters. Patricia is survived by her daughters, Phyllis (Tom) Weber of Anoka, Minn; Elizabeth "Bette" Crane of Hastings, Minn; and Ruth Dean of Nassau, Bahamas; 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell on March 5, 1974; and her brothers, John and Maurice.
Myrna E. McQueen-Koch
Myrna E. Ransom Mc-Queen-Koch, 96, of Glen Carbon, Ill., formerly of Bella Vista, Ark., died Feb. 12, 2006, at Maryville Manor in Maryville, Ill. She was born Oct. 21, 1909, in Atalissa, Iowa, to Harry Ransom and Carrie Parry Ransom.
She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Edwardsville, Ill.; a founding member of the Bella Vista Community Church in Bella Vista, Ark.; and a member of the Bella Vista Organ Club.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Wilton McQueen; her second husband, Gordon Koch; and a son, David McQueen.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Ritter and Gerald Ritter of Glen Carbon; three grandchildren, Mark Ritter of Lakemoor, Ill., Shelly Peterson of Glen Carbon and Elizabeth Bloomer of Webster Groves, Mo.; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Feb. 16 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Edwardsville, Ill., with the Rev. Diane Grohmann.
Arrangements were by Irwin Chapel of Glen Carbon.

Joseph Michaels
Joseph Michaels, 86, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Feb. 15, 2006, in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born in 1919 in Weehawken, N. J. After serving in World War II, where he saw action in Germany, he finished college and began working as a reporter on radio. He later moved to television, and was for several years a roving correspondent for the "Today Show" with Dave Garroway, covering stories both at home and abroad including the war between the French and what was then called Indo-China (Vietnam). In 1957, he was named the Foreign Correspondent for NBC in Rome, but was soon moved to Moscow where he remained until, at Soviet First Secretary Nikita Kruschev s request, he was brought home in 1960. In the following years he covered the war in Algeria for NBC News but started to focus increasingly on radio and television for WNBC in New York, both on the air and as a producer. The programs he was involved with included "New York Illustrated," " Man in Office, "" Speaking Freely" with Edwin Newman and "The Prime of Your Life" with Arlene Francis. During this period he won numerous New York-area Emmy awards both for his work on air and as an executive producer. In the 1970s, he also took on the job of chief editorialist for WNBC News, where he continued to win awards and honors, including the Edward R. Murrow Citation for the Best Editorial of 1984. He retired in the early 1990s.

Helen Genieve Pivoda
Helen Genieve Pivoda, 81, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Feb. 14, 2006, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville, Ark. She was born June 2, 1924, in Hot Springs, Ark., to Gordon Henderson and Cordelia Smith Henderson. She was raised and educated in Arkansas. She attended college in Texas and Phoenix, Ariz., and received a master s degree from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. She marriage Jack I. Pivoda in 1950 in Phoenix. She was personnel director and city clerk for the city of North Las Vegas, Nev., for more than 27 years. She retired to Bella Vista in 2001. She did volunteer work for the AARP and enjoyed golfing and swimming.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack I. Pivoda.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jack Pivoda and Gail Pivoda of North Las Vegas, Nev., Gordon Pivoda of Bella Vista, and Robert Pivoda and Arlene Pivoda of Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lezle Pivoda of Medford, Ore., and Frances McCoy and Donald McCoy of Coeur d Alene, Idaho; and three grandchildren. A memorial service was held Feb. 17 at Judson American Baptist Church in Bella Vista with the Rev. W. Kerry Gage. Arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.
Vivadale S. Poole
Vivadale S. Poole, 87, of Rogers, Ark., died Feb. 15, 2006, at her home. She was born Oct. 6, 1918, in Naperville, Ill., to Milton Spiegler and Lorena Spiegler. She and her late husband, Albert Poole, moved to Arkansas in 1979 and lived first in Bella Vista, Ark., rural Gravette, Ark., then finally in Rogers. She was a former executive secretary, a high school teacher; and in partnership with her husband. She was a teacher of Round Dancing in Bella Vista, Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale and Fayetteville. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Rogers, and a former member of Roundalab, Chicago Round Dance Leaders Society, Northwest Suburban AAUW, Rogers Art Guild and the Tellers of Tales of Springdale.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward Grey Poole and Leslie Poole of Naperville, Ill., and Jeffrey Martin Poole and Sharon Poole of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother and sister-in-law, David D. Spiegler and Genevieve Spiegler; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the First Presbyterian Church of Rogers.

Verona M. Quinlan
Verona M. Quinlan, 76, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Feb. 16, 2006, at her home. She was born June 27, 1929, in Chicago, Ill., to Aloysius L. Wagner and Muriel Winkler Wagner.
She marriage Robert Quinlan on April 19, 1966, in Chicago. She was a switchboard operator for AT&T; and for WGN Radio and Television.
She was preceded in death by a sister and a stepson.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Quinlan; two daughters, Kathleen Handler and Maureen Panzca; a brother, Gregory Wagner; two stepsons, Robert T. Quinlan and Michael Quinlan; a stepdaughter, Kathryn Kolb; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service was held Feb. 18 at the Callison-Lough Funeral Chapel.

Perry R. Bob Tharp
Perry R. "Bob" Tharp, 65, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Feb. 16, 2006, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born Dec. 12, 1940, in Dana, Ind., to Joe J. Tharp and Edna E. Tharp.
He was raised in Indiana. He joined the U.S. Air Force on his 17 th birthday. While he was stationed in Salina, Kan., he met his future wife, Millie. The couple were marriage on Jan. 16, 1960. He worked for Cessna aircraft for five years, then for Arrow Machine for 31 years while living near Hutchinson, Kan. He and his wife retired to Bella Vista in October 2001. He was a member of Powell Twin Springs Church of the Nazarene in Seligman, Mo., where he was Sunday school superintendent.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl W. Tharp, Everett L. Tharp and Victor E. Tharp; and a sister, Joanne Tharp.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Millie Tharp; three sons, Randy Tharp, Robert Tharp and Ricky Tharp; a brother, Marvin Tharp of Guntersville, Ala.; a sister, Marjorie Reed of Bedford, Ind.; and eight grandchildren, Joshua, Crystal, Arianna, Ashley, Abby, Ashton, Talon and Jennifer.
Funeral services were held Feb. 21 at the Powell Twin Springs Church of the Nazarene in Seligman, Mo., with the Rev. Cal Stewart and the Rev. Raymond Anderson.
Burial will be at the Simsberry Cemetery in McDonald County, Mo.
Barbara Benson Alcaraz
Barbara Benson Alcaraz, 71, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Feb. 23, 2006, at St. Mary s Hospital in Rogers, Ark. She was born Jan. 1, 1935, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to True Burkeman and Mildred Burkeman. She was an actress, a vocalist and an ordained minister. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Benson Gunnell. Survivors include her husband, John Alcaraz; three sons, Greg Benson of Kingwood, Texas, Steve Benson of Siloam Springs, Ark., and Paul Benson of California; two daughters, Janis Richter of Bothell, Wash., and Lisa Ray of Siloam Springs, Ark., formerly of Bentonville, Ark.; a sister, Marion Rich of California; and 12 grandchildren.
Her body was donated to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.
A private celebration of life was held Feb. 26.

Kendall Ryan Jordan
Kendall Ryan Jordan, 4, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Feb. 19, 2006, at Arkansas Children s Hospital in Little Rock. He was born July 3, 2001, in Wichita, Kan., to Danny Knox and Kendra Jordan.
He was given the gift of a heart on June 30, 2005. He attended Meyer Learning Center in Rogers, Ark. He enjoyed spending time with his dogs, fishing, swimming and playing with his friends at the Learning Center.
Survivors include his mother, Kendra Jordan of the home; his father, Danny Knox of Winfield, Kan.; two sisters, Trisha Jordan and Ashlie Jordan, both of the home; his grandparents; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Frank Kostick
Frank Kostick, 79, of Minneapolis, Minn., formerly of Bloomington, Minn. and northwest Arkansas, died Feb. 23, 2006, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis, where he had been a patient for the past three-and-a-half years. He was born June 21, 1926, in Minneapolis to Frank Kostick and Coralie Curtis Kostick.
He attended Central High School and the University of Minnesota before enlisting in the U.S. Navy for a tour of duty in World War II and again in the Korean conflict for an additional four years. Following his discharge from the service, he began working for the Ed Phillips and Sons Co. in Minneapolis, where he was a salesman for 32 years, retiring in 1984.
In 1994, he and his wife, Marilyn, moved to Arkansas, where he was an avid golfer and was active in the Bella Vista Lutheran Church. In 2002, he was hospitalized at the Veterans Hospital in St. Cloud, Minn., followed by transfer to the Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis 1 1/2 years later.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Kostick; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kelli Kostick of New Durham, N. H., Kris Brekke and Dennis Brekke of Maple Grove, Minn., and Karen Olson and Mark Olson of Buffalo, Minn.; six grandchildren, Andrea Brekke, Alyssa Brekke, Matthew Brekke, Nicholas Olson, Kirsten Olson and Kaylee Olson; two sisters, Myrtle Olson of Bloomington, Minn., and Georgia Udell of Minneapolis; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Feb. 28 at Mount Hope Lutheran Church. Burial will be at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
