Jan C. Jablonski
Jan C. Jablonski, 70, of Fayetteville died Tuesday, April 17, 2018. He was born February 14, 1948 in Tacoma, Washington.
He is gone from his family and missed by his friends.
Allan P. Schmidt
Allan P. Schmidt died peacefully at Circle of Life Hospice Home on April 15, 2018 in Bentonville, AR at the age of 79.
Al is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; children Tracey Schmidt - Bali, Indonesia, Michele (Joseph) Dannewitz – St. Charles, IL and Denise (Bonaventure) Chienku – Portland, OR. Additionally his six “silly gooses”: Katlyn (21) and Eric (19) Dannewitz, Maya Schmidt (17) and Grace (10), Stephen (7) and Nathan (2) Chienku. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Rudolph Schmidt of Berwyn, IL and his two sisters - Nancy Kahn of Joliet, IL and JoAnn Lichamer of Lake Carol, IL.
Al was born on July 24, 1938 in Chicago, IL. From 1959 to 1962, he was proud to serve in the Army. He was stationed in Missouri, New Mexico, and Greece. On September 24, 1963 he met the love of his life, Shirley Swanson. After a short courtship, they married on February 1, 1964. He graduated from Elmhurst College in 1972 with a degree in Business Administration. In 1973, Al and Shirley moved their family to St. Charles where they lived for 26 years. In 1999, they moved to Bella Vista, AR where they currently reside. They were fortunate to have found two communities where their friends have become their extended family.
Al’s favorite things included spending time with his family, golfing, going to the casino, playing any type of games (especially cards), eating dessert and traveling. Al and Shirley traveled extensively in their retirement – not to mention their multiple trips each year to visit their grandkids in St. Charles and Portland.
A funeral is scheduled for 2:00 on Saturday, April 21st at United Lutheran Church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Al's life. Mildred Irene Duffy
Mildred Irene Duffy, 73, of Decatur died Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Circle of Life Hospice. She was born July 22, 1944 in Texas City, Texas the daughter of Cass Broussard and Gracie Mae Bross.
She loved creating art, spending quality time with her family, and cooking for all. She had lived in the Northwest Arkansas and Oklahoma area for approximately 50 years. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mildred is survived by: one son; Robert Duffy Jr., and his wife Karen of Decatur, four daughters; Sheila Kay Thomas, and her husband Carl, of Oregon, Pamela Irene Stouton, and her husband Fred, of Decatur, Cassie Lea Andrus, and her fiancé, Brian David Davis, of Decatur, Melody Rose Bagaent, of Oklahoma, one sister; Eloise Robinson, and her husband Pat, of Cave Springs, numerous grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and the father of her children; Robert Duffy Sr., of Decatur, and Francis Paul Brentley, of Texas.
A celebration of Mildred’s life will be Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11am at Mason Valley Baptist Church.
Betty Louise Lopez
Betty L. Lopez, 79 passed April 14th 2018.
Betty is preceded in death by daughter Sherry.
Betty is survived by her mother Mary Neal.
Seven sons: Robin, Mike, Steve, Wendell, Brian, Dennis and John Workman. One daughter Kathy Sam. Many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be Thursday at 10am at National Cemetery Fayetteville.
Richard Lee Chochrek
Richard Lee Chochrek, 73, of Bella Vista passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 in his home. He was born June 29, 1944 in Chicago, IL to Mary and Leo Chochrek.(parents).
Richard worked for a long time in the produce department in Jewel grocery stores and Wal-Mart. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and Cubs on TV.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
Richard is survived by a sister Carol and brother Ron.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Stephen Wallace Kirkland
Stephen Wallace Kirkland (70), a well-loved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on April 9th, 2018. Originally from Eastern Tennessee, Steve was born to Margaret and Jack Kirkland on September 18th, 1947.
He is survived in death by his wife Brenda of 47 years and their three children and five grandkids. He was a devoted coach and father to Jason (Jennifer), Stephanie (Mike), and Josh (Tasha) and proud Papaw to Lauren, Tyler, Rylee, Cole, and Kingston Wallace Kirkland. Steve was the oldest of five children and is survived by his sisters, Charlotte and Jackie and his brothers, Gary and Jeff. He had a loving and combative friendship with close family friend, Ann Koogler, A.K.A. Silly Aunt Ann.
Steve was an avid sports fan and will always be cheering alongside his baseball families the Razorbacks and the Naturals. He was a proud former member of the Marine Corp. in the Vietnam era. The family would like to especially thank the love and tenderness from the Palliative Care Unit of the VA Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas. They were amazing. Per Steve’s request there will be no services, rather please honor his life in your special celebratory moment as he was many things to many people.
Donations can be made to Pagnozzi Charities in his memory (pagnozzicharities.org). Steve was a man that never forgot his roots and he remained loyal to both calling the Hogs and singing Rocky Top; a conflicting trait that he passed onto his children. WPS! Go Vols!
Miles Denson Walker
Miles Denson Walker, born March 23, 1998 to Kelly Henderson Greer and Joe Walker in Springdale. Jesus took Miles by the hand and led him to Heaven April 7, 2018.
He is survived by his mother Kelly and Julie Greer, father; Joseph Walker and stepfather Michael Paul Jackson, three brothers; Dilan, Tristen, and Braxton, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. His cats Mary Jane and Taco, his Nunu Sharon Henderson who he was very close too and Bobo Russell Henderson, who he called his best friend, grandfather; Robert Henderson, grandmother; Marilyn Neilson, and grandparents; Charleen and David Jackson.
He was preceded in death by: his grandmother; Janet Henderson, and Ester Henderson and Denny Ray Walker.
A 2016 graduate of Bentonville High School where he received a certificate in Architecture and many honors in band, Miles enjoyed percussion, piano, and guitar where he wrote a lot of his own music. He also was fascinated in Art and building things.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8pm at Epting Funeral Home Bentonville.
A celebration of Mile’s life will be: Thursday at 10am at New Hope Assembly of God Church located in Rogers with Pastor James Longmate officiating. Interment will be at Cove Cemetery, located in Whitter at 2pm.
