Bonnie Jean Waddell
Bonnie Waddell, 68 of Van Buren, AR died February 14, 2017 in Ft. Smith. She was born December 12, 1948 to Bert and Ethel Lukins in Sacramento, CA.
Preceded by: parents, and husband Duke Waddell, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Survivors: son Danny Anderson, stepson Alex Waddell and family, 2 sisters Lesa Coffman; Myrtle Kitching, 1 Granddaughter Chanel, 2 nieces Aryan and Alexandra and a nephew Andrew.
Bonnie was dearly loved!!
William A. Guthridge
William A. Guthridge, 84, of Bentonville, died Monday, February 13, 2017 at his residence. He was born April 14, 1932 in Los Angeles, California the son of Harriet and Benjamin Guthridge.
He had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for one year after moving from Mohave Valley, Arizona. He served in the US Navy for four years during the Korean War. He was an engineer for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
William is survived by: his wife of 63 years, Barbara Guthridge whom he married January 29, 1954, one son; Richard Guthridge and his wife Lynn, of Anaheim Hills, California, two daughters; Patty Lorton and her husband Chris, of Bentonville, Susan Guthridge, of Bentonville, one sister; Lucia Brooks and her husband Bert, of Upland, California, ten grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
A celebration of William’s Life will be in Arizona and announced at a later date by the family.
Donald “Don” John Meek
Donald “Don” John Meek, 85, of Horeshoe Bend passed away Thursday, February 10, 2017 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.
He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was born in St Louis, MO on April 26, 1931, son of Anna (Ducheck) and Clarence Meek. He married Virginia Sandell on Oct 16, 1958 at Webb AFB chapel in Big Spring TX. Don was a Korean and Viet Nam war veteran retiring as a USAF Lt Col pilot after 21 ˝ distinguished years. He retired as auto sales finance manager in 1994 when he moved to Horseshoe Bend, AR to enjoy his retirement years.
Don was an inventor receiving a US patent for 3d-paper airplane models. He was a writer authoring the book “7 War Stories”. He was an engineer designing and supervising the Horseshoe Bend Wall OF Honor military war veteran memorial.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Meek of Horseshoe Bend; son Richard (Waree) of Sacramento CA, Steve of Charlotte, AR,; Cal (Patricia) of Batesville, AR; sister LaVerne Jones of Kansas City, MO; and 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Anna Meek, and brother Allen Meek.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, Feb. 23rd at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home in Sherwood, AR; Bro. John McCullough officiating. Military honors burial service to follow at 1pm at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Memorials may be made to John 3:16 Ministries of Charlotte, AR.
Rodney Alan McComas
Rodney Alan McComas, 67, of Bentonville died Friday, February 10, 2017 at Northwest Medical Center located in Bentonville. He was born September 22, 1949 in South Charleston, West Virginia the son of Jack and Betty McComas.
He was employed with the Benton County Clerk’s office for over 5 years. He had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for over 10 years after moving from West Virginia.
Survivors include: three brothers; Richard McComas and wife Lisa of Fayetteville, Greg McComas and his significant other Dennis Miller, of West Virginia, and Jeff McComas and his wife Tina, of West Virginia.
A celebration of Rod’s Life will be at the Springdale Moose Lodge and announced at a later date by the family.
Randy Laverle Weddington
Randy Laverle Weddington, 66, of Eureka Springs died Sunday, February 5th. He was born July 20, 1950 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
He enjoyed writing, reading, and playing on the computer. He was a film critic and a journalist for many years.
Survivors include: his Lifetime Companion; Jackie Weddington, of Eureka Springs, half-brother; Preston Casey, of Gateway, half-sisters; Evening Star Walden, of Gateway, Glenda Walden, of Eureka Springs, Rhonda McCormick, of Seligman, Missouri, his aunt; Laverne Welch, of Gateway, and numerous nieces and nephews.
No services are planned at this time.
John Victor Barrett
John Victor Barrett, 81, of Cicero, New York died peacefully surrounded by family Friday, February 3, 2017 at a care facility in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born February 20, 1935 in North Tonawanda, NY to James and Katie (Brown) Barrett. As his father suffered from blindness, John started working at an early age to help provide for the family. This helped to define both his strong work ethic and frugality. He had the rare talent to make or fix almost anything, whether it be a car, washing machine, home or airplane. After serving in the Air Force, this led him to a career as a field engineer for GE and later Honeywell, where he troubleshot and fixed early mainframe computers.
John enjoyed spending time with family, tinkering, building things, aviation, downhill skiing, the Buffalo Bills, and always had trouble passing up a good deal. Helping others was a cornerstone of his life, he was always happy to lend a hand however he could.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother James. John is survived by his wife Dauryne (Haas) Barrett; son, Patrick Barrett (Stephanie); and grandchildren Colin and Piper, of Bentonville, Arkansas.

Tina Ryan, 47, of Farmington died Thursday in Fayetteville. She was born November 21, 1969 in San Bernardino, CA to Billy Montgomery and Dottie Graves.
Tina, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend, is survived by her husband, Tim Ryan; her parents; son, Travis; daughters, Tiffany and Tonya; brothers: Mike, Billy, Donnie, and Brandon; sisters: Kandie and Mikkenna; grandchildren: Hunter, Colton, Trey, Kylie, and Zoey.
