Margaret Miller
Margaret Miller, 92, of Bella Vista, Ark., died April 1, 2005, in Bentonville, Ark., following a battle with Alzheimer's disease.
She and her husband, Robert F. Miller, moved to Bella Vista in 1997 from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where the couple lived with their daughter and son-in-law.
She graduated from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, where she belonged to the Chi Omegas, was a member of the People's Church, the PEO and a sewing club. With her daughters, she enjoyed horseback riding, ice skating, the Camp Fire Girls and the piano. In her later years, she enjoyed playing Scrabble, bridge and rummy with her husband, as well as discovering the beauty of Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Miller, on March 7, 2005.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Jan Pope and Allan Pope of Williamsburg, Iowa, and Ann Walderbach and Tom Walderbach of Bella Vista; four grandchildren, Mike, Dan, Annette and Nikki; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for her and her husband will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at Cedar Memorial in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Arrangements are by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home of Cedar Rapids.
Verbena Violet Vanderslice
Verbena Violet Vanderslice, 82, of Anderson, Mo., died April 7, 2005, at McDonald County (Mo.) Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., to Levi G. Burton and Elva Turner Burton.
She was an accomplished artist and graduated from Southwestern Baptist Seminary. She worked for the Missouri Women's Missionary Union before moving to Texas, where she was involved in Baptist Mission work. She moved to northwest Arkansas from Dallas, Texas, in October 2001.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Stella Sullivan.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, John Timothy Vanderslice; a daughter, Cherrie Lynn DeHart of Mesquite, Texas; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Regina Wright of Ironton, Mo., Elva Lee Strickland and Vernon Strickland of Bella Vista, Ark., and Lorene Heskett and John Heskett of Frankfurt, Ky.; and five grandchildren, Jessica, Kyle, Amber, Seth and Courtney.
Funeral services were held April 8 at the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers, Ark., with Howard Fuller.
Burial was at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark.
Memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Missionary Offering for International Missions of the Southern Baptist Convention.
Ray Edward Cox
Ray Edward Cox, 76, of Bella Vista, Ark., died March 26, 2005, in Bentonville, Ark. He was born Oct. 6, 1928, in Osawatomie, Kan., to Wiley J. Cox and Carmen Cox.
He and his wife, Donna, moved to Bella Vista in May 1990 from the Kansas City area. He was employed with Allstate Insurance in Kansas City for 30 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Independence, Mo. He attended the First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville. He was a Crime Watch volunteer and also volunteered at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville. He was an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Robert; and two sisters, Margery Rummell and Dolly Kraft.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Cox; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven R. Cox and Janice Cox, and Jeffrey W. Cox and Linda Cox, all of Kalamazoo, Mich.; and two grandchildren, Emily Cox and Daniel Cox.
A memorial service was held April 5 at the First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville with the Rev. Art Fogartie.
Arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

Elizabeth Morgan Godchaux
Elizabeth Morgan Godchaux, 88, of Bella Vista, Ark., died March 29, 2005, at Highlands Health Care in Bella Vista. She was born Nov. 28, 1916, in Biloxi, Miss., to William M. and Annie Parker Morgan.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Biloxi. She worked as a nurse in the Biloxi area for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Geraldine Phipps of Bella Vista and two grandsons.
Graveside services were held April 5 at Southern Memorial Park Cemetery in Biloxi with Dr. Gunn.
Local arrangements were by Beard's Funeral Chapel of Fayetteville, Ark.
Margaret 'Peggy' Halvorsen
Margaret "Peggy" Halvorsen, 83, of Bella Vista, Ark., died March 30, 2005, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville, Ark. She was born Dec. 31, 1921, in Chicago, Ill., to David Webner and Martha Webner.
She worked at the Peterson-Webner Bakery, a family bakery, for more than 30 years. She moved to Bella Vista 15 years ago from Williams Bay, Wis. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Donald Halvorsen; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce David Halvorsen and Jan Halvorsen of Morgan Hills, Calif.; two brothers, Swen Webner of Bella Vista and Ted Webner of Elmhurst, Ill.; a grandson, Christian Halvorsen; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held April 2 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry R. Williams and the Rev. Wayne L. Bartruff.
Arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

Connie (Schaffer) Knight
Connie is survived by her husband of 26 years, James G. Knight, sons Andrew of Mankato, Minn. and Timothy of the home, her mother Betty Schaffer of Bella Vista, Ark., her sister Mary Ann Minor of Freeport, Ill., special cousins from both the Timm and Schaffer sides. Her father Marvin Schaffer who passed away April 18, 2004, her uncles John Eugene Schaffer and William Timm, Jr., her aunt Ida Mae Morrissey and her paternal and maternal grandparents preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held March 30 at Easter Lutheran Church in Eagan, Minn. The family requests no flowers, however, cards can be sent to Connie's family at 1140 Tiffany Drive, Eagan, Minn. 55123 or to her mother at 19 Basildon Circle, Bella Vista, Ark. 72714.
Marvin Edward Love
Marvin Edward Love, 61, of Rogers, Ark., died March 26, 2005, in Rogers. He was born May 8, 1943, in Tampa, Texas, to Muriel "Mutt" Love and Delores Holt Love.
He was an antique dealer, a U.S. Marines Corps veteran and a Baptist. He was engaged to Connie McGarrah.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steve Love and Christine Love of Rogers and Brian Love of Acapulco, Mexico; a daughter, Stephanie Scott of Lowell, Ark.; a brother, Bill Love of Caney, Kan.; seven sisters, Karen Curry of Alma, Ark., Debbie Maestri of Bella Vista, Ark., and Cathy High, Sandra Canup, Polly Everette, Dee Dee Stults and Pat Sharp, all of Springdale, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held March 30 at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale, Ark., with the Rev. Danny Ingram and Pastor Mike Skinner.
