Henry Jensen

Henry (Hank) Charles Jensen, 80, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Friday, February 8, 2013 at his home. He was born February 20, 1932 in Porter, Minnesota the son of Henry and Gladys Jensen.

He enjoyed golfing, working in his yard, woodworking and entertaining as he loved to be around people. Everyone was his friend and his three grandsons were his pride and joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marjorie.

Henry is survived by his loving wife, Janet “Jan” Jensen, whom he married June 6, 1954; one son, Hal Jensen, and his wife, Peggy, of Bellevue, Nebraska; one daughter, Jane Spaulding, and her husband, Jim, of Omaha, Nebraska; one brother, Everett Jensen, of Portland, Oregon; two sisters, Donna Vankirk and her husband, Travis, of Johnson City, Tennessee and Judy Ring and her husband, Roy, of Littleton, Colorado; three grandchildren, Craig Jensen of Omaha, Nebraska, Beau Spaulding of Menasha, Wisconsin, and Jacob Spaulding, of Omaha, Nebraska.

A Celebration of Hank’s life will be held on February 23, 2013 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at 18 Pentland Drive in Bella Vista, at the Jensen Residence.

Memorials may be sent to charity of donor’s choice.

Barbara Bush

Barbara Gertrude Bush, 88, of Bentonville, Arkansas died Friday, February 8, 2013 at a local nursing home. She was born June 21, 1924. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by many loving relatives in Arkansas, Texas, Washington, and California.

Maria Leonard

Maria Klara Burkhardt Leonard, of Rogers, Arkansas, 91, died Thursday, February 7, 2013 after a short illness. Maria was born on June 25, 1921 in Worms, Germany. She was the youngest of two daughters of Peter and Barbara Burkhardt. In 1946, she met her American soldier and love of her life, Clyde W. Leonard when he was among a group of American soldiers occupying her family home in Bischofsheim, Germany. Maria and Clyde were married on March 17, 1949 in Germany and later moved to Columbus, Georgia. One of her greatest lifelong pleasures was her becoming a US citizen in 1953. Following Clyde's retirement from active duty in 1957, they purchased and operated the L&H Bar and Liquor store on Victory Drive in south Columbus. For many years, Maria was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Columbus, Georgia where she served in the Altar Society and PCCW. She served many years as the PCCW treasurer. Upon the death of her husband in 1967, Maria went back to school to earn her Associate Degree in Computer Science. She went to work in the office at Kirvens Department Store. When the store closed, she worked for Burnham Van moving company retiring at the age of 74.

In 1999, she moved to Bentonville, Arkansas to be near her family. She became a member of the St. Stephens Catholic Church in Bentonville, Arkansas, and was very active in the Rosary society. She was an active participant at the Benton County Senior Center where she loved to play cards, games and enjoyed the fellowship the Center brought. In 2010, she moved to the Innisfree Assisted Living Facility in Rogers. There, she participated in every available activity from games, chair volleyball, and Christmas choir.

Maria is survived by her son, Bernard F. Leonard and his wife Pamela H. of Lowell, Arkansas, her grandson, Derek Leonard, his wife Megan, and their three children, Dean, Reed, and Ruby of Conway, Arkansas. She is also survived by granddaughter, Andrea Thompson and her husband Beau, of Gravette, Arkansas and granddaughter, Allison Clark, her husband Lucas, and their two children, Russell and Evelyn of Cave Springs, Arkansas.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 12:30 until service time. The funeral service will be Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Bentonville, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Stephens Building Fund would be appreciated.

Betty Phillips

Betty Lou Phillips, 85, of Pea Ridge, Arkansas died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born April 19, 1927 in East Chicago, Indiana the daughter of Hazel Willis and James Harold Snyder.

She enjoyed taking care of children especially her grandchildren. She had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for over 50 years after moving from Oklahoma City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Phillips; and two brothers, Jack Snyder and Mike Dutton.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Shelly Webb, and her husband, Mike, of Pea Ridge; four sisters, Colleen Williams and her husband, Carroll, of Little Rock, Arkansas, Linda Jones and her husband, Billy, of Pea Ridge, Charlotte Ratliff and her husband, Ray, of Pineville, Missouri, and Podie Dutton of Austin, Texas; and two grandchildren, Colter Webb and Corey Webb.

A memorial service will be at a later date. Inurnment will be at Twelve Corners Cemetery in Pea Ridge.

Conley Kuehl

Conley Gilmore Kuehl, 87, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at the Circle of Life Hospice Center in Bentonville, Arkansas, surrounded by his children. He was born in Nobles County, Minnesota, to William and Clara (Gehl) Kuehl.

After high school, he worked the family farm until entering the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. On September 28, 1952, after completing his military service, Conley married Violet Ihnen in Fulda, Minnesota. During the next 30 years, they raised four children while Conley served in law enforcement; first as a policeman and then as a Minnesota state patrolman while residing in Austin, Minnesota.

Conley and “Vi” retired and moved to Bella Vista in 1987. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, playing bridge, golf, and especially being with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Violet Kuehl; his parents, William and Clara Kuehl; his sister, Alita Oltmans; and his granddaughter, Megan.

Conley is survived by his four children: Kurt Kuehl and his wife, Marlene, of Ketchikan, Alaska, Kent Kuehl of Los Angeles, California, Kandace Kuehl-Dannenberg and her husband, Dr. Bernard, of Half Moon Bay, California, and Bruce Kuehl of Bloomington, Minnesota; grandchildren, Kristen Kuehl and her husband, David Christal, Erin Kuehl, Max Dannenberg, and Renee Dannenberg; sister, Joyce Cuperus of Fulda, Minnesota; and brother, Gary Kuehl of Worthington, Minnesota.

Conley had a great sense of humor and touched our hearts with his kindness, exceptional integrity and respect for everyone. He will be missed. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Circle of Life Hospice Care, Highland Health Care, Pastor Darrel Johnson and Conley's shepard group at United Lutheran Church for their loving care, prayers and support.

A memorial service for Conley will be held at United Lutheran Church, 100 Cooper Road, Bella Vista, AR on Saturday, March 23, 2012, at 11:00 a.m.

A 'Celebration of Life' memorial service will also be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with internment at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 11:15 AM on July 1, 2013. Wilma Stewart

Wilma Lorene Stewart, 87, of Rogers, Arkansas died Monday, February, 4, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. She was born March 29, 1925 in Tennessee the daughter of Cornelia and Clinton Spain.

She had served the Lord for all her life. She was a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church in Rogers. She enjoyed cooking and spending quality time with her family. She liked flowers. She had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area since 1984 after moving from Lockport, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Rev. John Aubrey Spain and Rev. Virgil Spain; and one infant sister, Margie Ruth Spain.

Wilma is survived by her husband of 71 years, Joe Stewart, of the home whom she married January 31, 1942; one son, Charles David Stewart, and his wife, Lavanah Viola, of Rogers; one daughter, Patricia Ann Darling, of St. Petersburg, Florida; one sister, Mary Katherine Robinson, of Plainfield, Illinois; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at New Hope Assembly of God in Rogers.

Funeral service will be Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Assembly of God in Rogers. Interment will be at Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Memorials may be sent to First Love Ministries in Rogers.
