Gurdan St. Clair
Gurdan St. Clair, 83, of Rogers, Arkansas died Sunday, May 6, 2012.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Chestnut and her husband, David, of Rogers and Debbie Shenaman of Arizona and many other loving relatives.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, May 8 at Decatur Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
Delores Farris
Delores Myrtle Farris, 65, of Westville, Oklahoma died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville. She was born August 14, 1946 in California.
She is survived by her husband, Don Farris, of the home.
Owen Hornback
Owen Thomas Hornback Jr., 64, of Fayetteville, Ark. died Saturday, September 8 at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born June 27, 1948 in Kentucky.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnne Hornback, two sons, one daughter, two brothers, one sister, and four grandchildren.
Elizabeth Merrill
Elizabeth Helene Merrill, 87, of Fayetteville, Ark. died Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born March 31, 1925 in Detriot, Michigan, the daughter of Florence Messmer and Addison Brown.
She was a CNA for many years.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jeanette Trailer, and her adult son, Vincent Merrill.
Elizabeth is survived by her children, JoAnne Kroll, Judy Trailer, Jackie D’Amour, Tom Trailer, Martha Reed, Tess Eagles, numerous grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
Marcus Pike
Marcus Stephen Pike, 18, of Bentonville, Ark. died Thursday, September 6, 2012 at his home. He was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on November 7, 1993, the son of Angela Perrett and Earnest Pike.
He was a senior at Bentonville High School. He loved working at Bob Evans Restaurant in Rogers, Ark. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and he was a well known prankster. He and his father had been working on Marcus' truck off and on these last few years.
Marcus owned a scooter and rode it everywhere and as often as he could. He had a big heart and was a role model and a big brother to many. He had a contagious laugh that would fill the room. He also played football earlier in his life. He and his family had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for over 8 years after moving here from Frederick, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glennelle Horton and Homer and Mondelpha Pike.
Marcus is survived by his mother and father, Angela and Earnest Pike, of Bentonville, Ark.; one brother, Tyler Pike, of the home; one sister, Brittney Leboeuf and her husband, Kelly, of Huntsville, Ark.; his grandparents, Michael and Mary Perrett and Bonnie Pike; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 11 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Bentonville.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, September 12 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Bentonville. Interment will be private for the family at Bentonville Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to Arvest Bank in his name.
Edith Frame
After a courageous battle with cancer, Edith "Edie" Mary Frame, 53, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2012. She married her soul mate, Randy, on June 8, 2002 in Eureka Springs, Ark. Together, they built Advanced Auto Tech into a successful automotive repair business. She ran the front of the business – making many lifetime friends and keeping them as long-time customers. In 2011, they celebrated 15 years of successful service to the citizens of Rogers and surrounding communities.
Enjoying life, not one to look over her shoulder with regrets, she loved camping vacations and going flat out on her jet ski, a Route 66 Music Festival or traveling to KC for a NASCAR race. Edie was most comfortable in her back yard tending to her rose bushes and vegetable gardening; always making sure Fred, the dachshund, wasn’t far behind.
Her celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, September 8 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 2409 West New Hope Road, Rogers, Ark.
Jonathan Mitchell
Jonathan Tyler Mitchell, 20, of Rogers, died Friday, August 31, 2012 at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville.
He proudly served his country with the National Guard.
He is survivoed by his wife, Rabecca Mitchell, of the home; one son, Braydon Mitchell, of the home; and many loving relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be Thursday, at 6:00 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, located on New Hope Road in Rogers, Arkansas.
Samuel "Bo" Elison
Samuel “Bo” Elison, 70, of Fayetteville, Arkansas died August 30, 2012 at Washington Regional Medical Center of heart complications.
Bo was born June 16, 1942 in Elko, Nevada to Samuel F. Elison, a gold miner, and Lorene Stutsman Elison, a homemaker.
He grew up in Oakley, Idaho helping the family with ranch chores, riding his horse named Sunday, and learning to play baseball and basketball. The family moved to Burley, Idaho where he played ball and completed high school.
After attending Snow College in Utah he was a left handed pitcher in the minor leagues in the Cub Organization as well as the Houston Colt 45’s. He rode bulls and exercised race horses in the off season.
Due to a rotator cuff injury he left baseball and made a career selling sporting goods equipment and assisting companies in developing and marketing their products. He made many friends in the sports field and in business. He was known for telling a good joke and extending his hand in friendship. He rose from salesman to Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He formed Elison Sales and Marketing Company. While calling on Wal-Mart he liked Northwest Arkansas enough to make it his permanent home. He was an avid golfer, bowler, and fisherman. He retired in 2002 after a heart attack and stroke.
He traveled the length and depth of the United States and Europe on business. The last 10 years he RV’d across the United States and Canada seeing the beautiful and interesting sites missed while working. He has spent time at the hobby of tooling leather and making wooden buildings and frames.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father and his daughter Lori Lee.
He is survived by his son; Shane Elison Atkinson, of New Hall, California, and Shane’s two sons; Cole and Trevor, his son Cory Elison of Little Rock, Arkansas, Cory’s son, Torrey Elison, of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, Cory’s daughter; Lindsay Leach. His brother is Jeffrey B. Elison, of Santo, Texas, and his two half-brothers; are Vernon Elison and Tad Elison, of Idaho. Bo also leaves his loving companion of 18 years Nadine Chenault who has been by his side to the end.
Thanks are extended to friends from the Washington Regional Center for Exercise and Sam and Elizabeth Weathers who helped during his last illness.
After cremation by Epting Funeral Home of Fayetteville, the urn will be buried in his mother’s family plot at Antelope Valley Cemetery in Oshkosh, Nebraska. A committal prayer for the family will be held at that time.
