Brad McWhirter

Bradford “Brad” Eugene McWhirter, 50, of Rogers, Arkansas died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee on April 5, 1962 the son of Freddie Davis and David G. McWhirter.

He enjoyed playing Play Station 3, shooting pool, and watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Ole Miss Rebels. He loved the Lord very much.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Brad is survived by his mother, Freddie McWhirter, of Rogers; his wife, Bonnie Pearson, of the home, whom he married July 7, 2007; one son, Aaron Lawrence and his wife, Tiffany, of Rogers; one daughter, Kelly Weaver and her husband, John, of Yukon, Oklahoma; three step-sons, Brian Bulin and his wife, Shelby, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Jason Bulin of Rogers, and Matthew Bulin and his wife, Hope, of Rogers; five brothers, David G. McWhirter of Nashville, Tennessee, Freddy Smith of Greenville, Mississippi, Don Smith and his wife, Lynda, of McRay, Arkansas, J. Michael Smith of Plano, Texas, and David L. McWhirter and his wife, Melissa, of Franklinton, Louisiana; one sister, Sheila Epting and her husband, Richard, of Rogers; numerous nieces and nephews; one granddaughter, Kayden Weaver; and one grandson, Joshua Bulin.

A memorial visitation will be Monday, November 26, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Epting Funeral Home of Bentonville, Arkansas.

Sandra King

Sandra Lee King, 70, of Fayetteville, Arkansas died on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville. She was born November 12, 1942 in Rochester, New York to Irving and Ruth King.

She enjoyed playing bingo at the lodge in Huntsville, riding horses and camping with the Cowgirl Up Club, or playing dominoes at First Baptist Church of Hindsville every Friday night (if she wasn’t riding!). She had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for 35 years after moving from Denver, Colorado.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick King, and her parents, Irving and Ruth King.

She is survived by two sons, Jeff King and his wife, Heather, and Roy T. King and his wife, Christy, all of Springdale, Arkansas; one daughter, Cyndy Kale, and her husband, Clayton, of Aurora, Arkansas; one brother, Roy Irving King of Florida; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; cousins; a few brother and sister in-laws; FBC Huntsville church family; and Cowgirl Up sisters.

Memorial service will be on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Hindsville First Baptist Church. Send memorials to Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville.

Sherman Kinyon

Sherman Wayne Kinyon, 88, of Centerton, Arkansas died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born August 2, 1924 in Portland, Oregon the son of Grace Batchelor and Audily Claire Kinyon.

Sherman graduated from Bentonville High School in 1943. He attended the University of Arkansas for one year. He then attended and graduated Officer’s Candidate School with Stateside Infantry Training as First Lieutenant. He proudly served the United States with the Army during the World War II. Upon arriving back from his military service, he continued to serve over 42 years of public service to the Northwest Arkansas residents.

Sherman was a Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Centerton for 63 years. He served as Benton County Circuit Clerk for six years. Mr. Kinyon also served as Benton County Judge and Juvenile Judge for eight years. In 1964, he presented a Dedicatorial Address at Benton County Sunshine School which was put in Congressional Record. He also served as the Chairman of the Quorum Court JP District 2 for six years and was First Lieutenant Governor of Kiwanis Convention.

Mr. Kinyon was appointed Centerton mayor for one and a half years and elected Centerton mayor for 12 years. He was a volunteer fireman for the City of Centerton for 23 years and helped build the 1st Centerton Fire Truck. Sherman was Chairman of Benton County Rural Development Board and Co-Sponsor of 2-Ton Water Project.

Sherman served on the Farmer’s Exchange Board for many years. He was a retired cattle and poultry farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Vernon; one sister, Evelyn; and one nephew, Lloyd Kinyon.

Sherman was a loving husband of 63 years, a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. Sherman is survived by his wife, Billie Coffelt Kinyon, of the home; two sons, Sheman E. Kinyon of Centerton, Arkansas and Ronald W. Kinyon and his wife, Diane, of Colcord, Oklahoma; one daughter, Sharon Barber of Bentonville, Arkansas; his twin brother, Allen Kinyon and his wife, Veda, of Centerton, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Centerton.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Centerton with Brother Stuart Bell officiating. Interment will follow at Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Barber, Lance Barber, Christopher Barber, Justin Barber, Brad Kinyon, Jamie McManus, Joe Davitt, Jason DeCorte, and Michael Cooper.

Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church of Centerton to the “Building Fund.”

Tina Beaver

Tina Marie Beaver, of Greenwood, Arkansas died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas the daughter of Elizabeth Yoes and Jerry Peters.

She enjoyed reading her bible, poetry, writing, time with her children, and learning new things. She was a lifetime resident of the Northwest Arkansas area. She graduated school in 1980 from Greenland High School. She was preceded in death by her mother.

Tina is survived by her father, Jerry Peters and his wife, Nora Lee, of Farmington; two sons, Michael Guyer and his wife, Emily, of Raleigh, North Carolina and Seth Schader of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one daughter, Tiffany Mayes of Fayetteville, Arkansas; four brothers, Charlie Peters, Jerry Peters, Howard Carter and his wife, Diane, and Billy Carter and his wife, Donna; and three sisters, Patricia Maze and her husband David, Beverly Guess and her husband, Eddie, and Sheila Carter, all of Northwest Arkansas.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date by the family.

Joe Jones

Joe Jones of Bentonville, Arkansas died Thursday, November 15, 2012 in Bentonville. He was born May 15, 1931.

He served in the United States Army.

He is survived by many loving relatives.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Epting Funeral Home in Bentonville.

Graveside will be Monday, November 19, 2012 at noon at Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Anna Acre

Anna “Ann” Fern Melson Acre, 74, of Winslow, Arkansas died Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at a local healthcare center. She was born October 27, 1938 in Oark, Arkansas the daughter of Anna Marie Evans and Odis “Tobe” Earl Melson.

She served her country in the United States Air Force for over two years after she chose to get married. She received an honorable discharge. She enjoyed attending auctions with her husband. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Lawrence Joseph Acre, in 2008, and one brother, Billy E. Melson.

Ann is survived by her husband, David Acre, of the home, whom she married April 8, 1961 in San Antonio, Texas; one son, Michael D. Acre, of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; and two brothers, Dolen E. Melson of Huntsville, Arkansas and Mark S. Melson and his wife, Mary Anna, of Huntsville, Arkansas.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date by the family. Inurnment will take place at Fayetteville National Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
