Janice Kay Janky
Janice Kay Janky, 76, of Holiday Island, Arkansas died Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, Arkansas. She was born September 11, 1935.
She is survived by her children, Steve Janky and Sarah Stowell.
Clarice Wistrom
Clarice Pauline Amundson Hoggarth Wistrom of Rogers, Arkansas died Sunday, December 18, 2011. She was born May 10, 1931 on a farm in Nelson County, North Dakota to Ole and Clara Haugen Amundson. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Alton Ole Jr., two nephews and one niece.
Clarice lived in several areas of the western United States. She was employed by Bourne’s Electronics in Riverside, California and worked on components for Apollo 11, the first Lunar Landing. After relocating to Arkansas, she was employed by the Carroll/Madison Corporation, a division of the Office of Economic Opportunity, where she was instrumental in instituting the Farmer’s Markets in Northwest Arkansas. She was an employee of St. Mary’s Rogers Hospital from 1978 to 1998 when she retired.
Clarice was a past member of the California Community Church in Clifty, Arkansas where she taught Sunday School for 11 years and was a current member of the Brightwater Memorial United Methodist Church of Avoca. She was a 3-year past president of the Scandinavian Society of Northwest Arkansas and was devoted to her Norwegian heritage. She was a current member of the Rogers Organic Garden Club where she began the yearly Herbal Foods Sampler each June. She was a current member of the Arkansas Lighthouse Society and was a retired member of the Ticker Tapers Two Investment Group.
Clarice was an avid gardener, cookbook collector, rock hound and music lover. She loved learning and always said she would never live long enough to learn all the things she wanted to learn.
She is survived by her son, Dale C. Hoggarth of Elkins; daughter, Cathryn D. Jett of Elkins; two step-daughters, Carla Burman and Trudy Wistrom of Mesa, Arizona; granddaughter, Courtney of Gravette; grandson, Joshua of Fayetteville; great-granddaughter, Clara of Gravette; two special nieces and their families; nephew, Paul Watne of Scottsdale, Arizona; and many friends and relatives.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at noon at Brightwater Memorial Methodist Church in Avoca with Pastor Brian Timmons, Pastor Jerry Smith, and Pastor Matt Daniels officiating.
Brooksie Fitzgerald
Brooksie J. Fitzgerald, 70, of Bentonville, Arkansas died Saturday, November 17, 2011 at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born November 8, 1941 in California.
She is survived by two sons, one daughter, one brother, and one sister.
Grant Muruaga
Grant Fay Muruaga, 89, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at a local nursing home.
He is survived by his son, Larry and his wife, Kathy, of Siloam Springs and daughter, Marilyn Gamble, and her husband, Carl, of Roseville, California.
Debrina Alta Polaco-McDougal
Debrina Alta Polaco-McDougal, 50, of Bentonville, Arkansas died Friday, December 9, 2011 in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born in Ruidoso, New Mexico on April 24, 1961 to Elfigo Polaco and Carolina Sachez.
She was loved by many. In her life, she touched many lives and brought many to the Lord. Debrina was the most loving mother. She lived each and every day for her children and her grandchildren. She will be loved and missed dearly.
Debrina was preceded in death by her father, Elfigo Polaco; mother, Carolina Sanchez-Polaco; two sisters, Lorencita Polaco and Eva Marie Polaco; and one brother, Floyd Polaco.
She is survived by her husband, Bob McDougal, whom she married on November 27, 1998; two daughters, Carolina Trevino and her husband, Roy, of Centerton, Arkansas and Victoria Gomez and husband, Jose, of Moore, Oklahoma; three brothers, Elfigo Polaco Jr and his wife, Mary, of Roswell, New Mexico, Simon Polaco and his wife, Martha, of Roswell, New Mexico, and George Polaco of Ruidoso, New Mexico; four sisters, Libby Palmer and her husband, Ray, of Pace, Florida, Josie Rich of Albany, Georgia, Pajita Abney and her husband, Bill, of Tularosa, New Mexico, and Lala Newkirk of Austin, Texas; and seven grandchildren, Arianna Gomez, Jose Gomez Jr., Belicia Trevino, Ivan Trevino, Kristine Gomez, Israel Trevino, and Dominic Gomez.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 13 at Epting Funeral Home in Bentonville from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at Trinity Fellowship in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Wednesday, December 14 at 10:00 a.m.
Donita Kerr
Donita Kerr, 33, of Centerton, Arkansas died Thursday, December 8, 2011 in Bentonville. She was born September 21, 1978 in Enid, Oklahoma.
She is survived by her mother, father, three children, four brothers, and one sister.
D'Ann Walsh
D’Ann Walsh, 57, of Rogers, Arkansas died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at her home. She was born February 19, 1954 in Arvada, Colorado the daughter of Yvonne June Buttomer and J.R. George.
She had worked for Wal-Mart Inc. for 23 years as an analyst. She loved to rescue dogs. She was preceded in death by her father. She had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area since 1980 after moving from Colorado.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Walsh of Rogers; mother, Yvonne George of Denver, Colorado; and a brother Dwight George of Frisco, Colorado.
No services are planned at this time.
Robert Littlefield
Robert Lee Littlefield Jr., 53, of Fayetteville, Arkansas died Sunday, December 4, 2011 at his home. He was born July 8, 1958 in Georgia. He served in the US Army.
He is survived by his niece, Kim Polingo, of Farmington.
Barbara Stanton
Barbara Aileen Stanton, 76, of Rogers, Arkansas died December 3, 2011 at Circle of Life Hospice House in Bentonville.
She was born August 2, 1935 to Mabel and Dallas Dutton in Kansas City, Kansas.
A graduate of Leavenworth High School, she studied at the Kansas City Art Institute and continued taking classes and workshops with well known artists.
She worked as an orthodontist’s dental assistant before becoming an illustrator at the Army Field Printing plant for the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
She lived in Olathe, Kansas and Aspen, Telluride, and Colorado Springs in Colorado before moving to Rogers, Arkansas in 1985.
She had been a member of Beta Sigma Phi, The Kansas City Art Guild, Rogers Art Guild, and Northwest Arkansas Rose Society. The Stanton Garden was included on garden tours in 2004 and 2005. She was an active member of the Plain Air Painters of the Ozarks.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and husbands, A.J. Wiley and William Stanton.
She is survived by three daughters, Anne Stanton of Bentonville, Cathy Wiley of Los Angeles, California, and Kay Wiley of Liberty, Missouri; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 6 at 6:00 p.m. at Circle Of Life Hospice House Chapel in Springdale located at 901 Jones Road.
