Reece E. Hughes
He was born March 23, 1925, in Primghar, Iowa, to Clark Hughes and Electa Hardin Huges.
He lived in Bella Vista for 14 years coming from Henning, Minn. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista. He had a successful career as a high school basketball coach in Sutherland, Iowa, before joining IMT Insurance Company in Des Moines, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Hughes of Bella Vista; a son, John Hughes of Clitherall, Minn.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jan McIntosh and Tom McIntosh of Green River, Wyo., and Mary Cherrier and Bill Cherrier of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren, Phil, Paul, Sarah, Christy and Nick; two great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Royce Hughes and Beverly Hughes of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Robert Hughes and Dorothy Hughes of Terrell, Texas; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Audrey Goodrich of Columbia, Mo., Ardyce Jago and Jim Jago of Waterloo, Iowa, and Alyeia Carlsborg and Les Carlsborg of Ames, Iowa.
A memorial service was held July 19 at the First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista with the Rev. David Fleming and the Rev. Wayne Bartruff.

Michael Nicholas Klukvin Jr.
He was raised and educated in Gary, Ind. He attended Purdue University where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He married Patricia Sentz on Aug. 30, 1958, in Frankfort, Ind. He was employed by Ralston Purina Company and later the Missouri Farmers Association as a plant manager in St. Joseph, Mo. He retired in 1999 and moved to Bella Vista. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was a member of the Highland United Methodist Church in Bella Vista.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Klukvin; his mother, Nancy Klukvin of Bentonville, Ark.; a son, Nicholas Klukvin of Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Michele Miller and Greg Miller of Overland Park, Kan., and Melissa Klukvin and Thomas J. Slover of Boulder, Colo.; and two grandchildren, Amanda Miller and Darci Miller.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at the Highland United Methodist Church in Bella Vista. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

Calvin B. 'Mac' McElhoe
Calvin B. "Mac" McElhoe, 89, of Bella Vista, Ark., died July 9, 2005, at Concordia Care Center in Bella Vista. He was born Aug. 8, 1915, in Pekin, Ill., to John McElhoe and Ada Lou Bailey McElhoe.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Dottie McElhoe; two daughters and sons-in-law, Leanne Feldman and Robert Feldman of Buchanan, Mich., and Roberta "Bo" Purdy and Richard Purdy of Sacramento, Calif.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at the Bella Vista Community Church with the Rev. Richard Lindman.

Katille Danacia Overstreet
Katille Danacia Overstreet, 21, of Pineville, Mo., died July 12, 2005, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Mo., after a long illness. She was born May 27, 1984, in Gravette, Ark., to Glen Dob Overstreet and Katrina Marie Browning Overstreet.
She was a lifelong resident of McDonald County, Mo. She attended Anderson (Mo.) Elementary School, Pineville Junior High School and McDonald County High School, where she played flute in the high school band. She attended Crowder College in Neosho, Mo. She attended the Full Gospel Church in Anderson and The Father's House Church in Pineville. She enjoyed writing poetry and songs and playing guitar.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Kassie Overstreet, in January 1986.
Survivors include her parents, Glen Dob Overstreet and Katrina Marie Overstreet of Pineville; a brother, Josiah Overstreet of Pineville; two sisters, Courtney Overstreet and Kelisa Overstreet, both of Pineville; her maternal grandparents, Deanna and Dan Brown of Baldwin City, Kan., and James and Gloria Browning of Bella Vista, Ark.; her paternal grandparents, Leila Ames of Pineville and Robert and Roberta Overstreet of Anderson, Mo., and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held July 16 at the Walker-Dowd Funeral Home Chapel with her father, the Rev. Glen Dob Overstreet.
Burial was at the Pineville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeff Overstreet, James Overstreet, Ben Overstreet, Wes McDaniel, Steve LaRue and Michael Razey.
Margaret R. Porter-Orr
Margaret R. Porter-Orr, 90, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, formerly of Bella Vista, Ark., died July 10, 2005, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. She was born Aug. 7, 1914, in Arnolds Park, Iowa, to Charles Russell and Harriet Townsend Russell.
She graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1932. She received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Iowa. She worked as a secretary for the federal government for 30 years.
She married Landon Porter on Feb. 14, 1940, in Washington, D.C. He preceded her in death on June 4, 1977. She married Gay A. Orr on Sept. 22, 2005, in Nashua, Iowa.
She lived in Bella Vista, Ark., for 22 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Garden Club. She was a past national recording secretary for the Questers. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ, traveling, making potpourri and meeting people.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Emily.
Survivors include her husband, Gay A. Orr; a stepdaughter, Melicent "Penny" Wiersma and her husband Rick of Spirit Lake; a great-niece, Megan Arnold; a great-nephew, Benjamin Arnold and his wife Anita Arnold; a great-great-niece, Amelia; and a great-great-nephew, Zachariah.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at the United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may by made to the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa; to the Spirit Lake Public Library; or to the Okoboji Summer Theater.

Alice M. Hansen
Alice M. Hansen, 85, died Oct. 8, 2004 at Highland Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Bella Vista, Arkansas. She was born Feb. 14, 1919 in Valley Stream, New York the daughter of Richmond and Millicent Thompson.
She was raised and educated in Valley Stream, N.Y. Alice married Harold Hansen on Jan. 4, 1941. They moved to LaGrange, Ill. in 1958. She was a member of Highlands Presbyterian Church in LaGrange, Ill.. In 2002, she moved to Bella Vista to be closer to her family in Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold Hansen, a brother Lin Thompson, and a son-in-law Jim Anderson.
Alice is survived by her daughter Maren Lynn Skowbo and her husband Jim, of Bella Vista; her son Michael Hansen and his wife Sandra, of Warrenville, Ill.; and her daughter Judith Anderson, of Bella Vista; grandchildren: Susan Sunderland and her husband John; Melissa Urban; Jeffrey Skowbo; Jennifer Williams and her husband Dan; Matthew Hansen and his wife Theresa; Elizabeth Hansen; Michael Max and his wife Tycie; Nicole Stovall and her husband Bryan; Michael, Laura, and Holly Waisnor; great-grandchildren: Kaleigh Urban; Megan, Chance, and Cayden Stovall; Jacob, and Olivia Williams; Weston, and Katelyn Max; Kathryn Sunderland; Jack, and Henry Hansen; and her brother Harold Hansen and his wife Hazel, of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Gerald "Jerry" Leffler
Gerald "Jerry" Leffler, 74, of Bella Vista died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers. He was born Oct. 15, 1929 in Gary, Ind. to Benjamin M. Leffler and Ethel (Bulkeley) Leffler.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict as 1st Lt. He moved to Bella Vista in 1991 from Papillion, Neb. He worked for State Farm Insurance for more than 30 years as an Insurance Agent. He was a member of the United Lutheran Church, Choir and hand bells.
He was a member of the Bella Vista Crime Watch for 10 years, loved to bowl and music.
He is survived by his wife, of 49 years, Sally Leffler of Bella Vista; one son, Kevin Leffler of Bloomington, Ill; one daughter, Kimberly Leffler of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother-in-law, Jerry Spain of Hawaii; one sister-in-law, Patti Bryg and husband Ron of Rainbow, Calif.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista, 100 Cooper Rd. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista.
