David A. (Dave) Goettsch
David A. (Dave) Goettsch, 57, of Bella Vista, s, died Jan. 26, 2002, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born May 16, 1944, in Holstein, Iowa, to Alfred (Tootie) and Leona Steinbach Goettsch Lucia.
He enjoyed working on cars and held several positions related to that interest. He was service manager at Don Miller Pontiac in Madison, Wisc., where he was employed for 21 years.
While living in Bella Vista, he was employed by George Nunnally Chevrolet North.
Survivors include his mother, Lee Lucia; his wife Debbie, whom he married June 19, 1982; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lora Goettsch and John Clementi of McFarland, Wis., Babette and Jay Gonstead of Madison; one brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Karen Goettsch of Moorhead, Minn.; three grandchildren, Danny, Manda and Jess, all of Wisconsin; two nieces and many other family and friends.
He was cremated and there were no memorial services. Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd.
Bernard Peter 'Pete' Hoffman
Bernard Peter "Pete" Hoffman, 84, of Woodbury, Minn., and formerly of Bella Vista, died Jan. 25, 2002. He was born in Henning, Minn., Sept. 4, 1917.
He spent much of his childhood in Minneapolis. After graduating from Central High School, he attended the University of Minnesota.
He was an officer in the U.S. Army, served with the 10th Mountain Division, and at the close of the war served in the Occupation of Japan.
He retired to Bella Vista, where he was active in theater work and served on committees in the community and United Lutheran Church.
He is survived by Lillian, his wife of 56 years; daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Dan Peterson of Humble, Texas; Berni and Mark Ester of Stillwater, Minn.; grandchildren, Erich and Brett Peterson, and Tyson, Olivia and Jenny Ester; sister, Lillian Vukas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial service was Friday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. at Woodbury Lutheran Church, 7380 Afton Road. Private intermenty was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Family received friends following the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association for Dementia Research.

Lillian Christina Huber
Lillian Christina Huber, 91, of Gravette, and formerly of Bella Vista, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Gravette Manor. She was born March 11, 1910, in Milberger, Kan., to Peter and Minnie Krug Deines.
She attended school in the Milberger area. She later moved with her family to a farm south of Collyer, Kan. She married Oscar Huber on Aug. 17, 1930.
Following her husband's death on Dec. 16, 1967, she moved to Quinter, Kan. She was employed at Gove County (Kan.) Medical Center for a number of years.
After retiring, she devoted most of her time to Quinter Senior Citizen Center. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Quinter.
She enjoyed quilting, gardening and walking.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Huber; a son, Harlan Huber; two granddaughters; four brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Howard Huber of Raymore, Mo., and Clayton Huber of Port Orchard, Wash.; two daughters, Norma Surprise of Fairfax, Okla., and Janice Gagnon of Bella Vista; a brother, Oscar Deines of Hoisington, Kan.; a sister, Rosa Warren of Longview, Texas; 17 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.

Coral 'Jackie' Kleeb
Coral Jacqueline "Jackie" Kleeb, 78, of Bella Vista, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002. She was born March 26, 1923, in Loup City, Neb., to Charles J. and Kittie C. Shadden.
She was a school teacher for two years in Custer County, Neb., before marriage.
She worked at Remington Arms and Ammunition plant in Denver during World War II. After the war, she owned and operated Jackie's clothing store in Broken Bow, Neb.
She was a past vice president of the Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce.
She and her husband moved to Bella Vista from Sioux Falls, S.D., in 1988. She was a past president of Bella Vista Book Club.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Highlands United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jack Schaible officiating.
Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

James Payne
James Payne, 81, of Bella Vista, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Brighten House Care Center in Rogers.
Funeral services are pending with Callison-Lough Funeral Services of Bentonville.
Dave 'Perk' Perkins
Dave "Perk" Perkins, 53, of Bella Vista, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at his home. He was born May 31, 1938, in Knott County, Ky., to Troy and Cora Shepherd Perkins.
He was a foreman for General Motors. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served as a lake ranger for the Bella Vista Property Owners Association.
He was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Perkins; three sons, Daniel Perkins and Troy Perkins, both of Bentonville, and Steven Perkins of Oregon; five brothers, Virgil Perkins and Darrell Perkins, both of Monticello, Ky., Paul Perkins of Green sburg, Ind., Don Perkins of Indiana and Dale Perkins of Clarksburg, Ind.; a sister, Darlene Perkins of Clarksburg; and five grandchildren.
Visitation was from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Backstom-Pyeattte Funeral Home in Bentonville, which is in charge of local arrangements. Funeral and burial will be held at a later date in Green sburg.
