Leonard T. McGinty
Leonard T. McGinty, 72, of Rogers, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers. He was born Aug. 3, 1930, in West Plains, Mo., to Ernest Leonard and Audrey DeShazo McGinty.
He and his wife moved to Rogers in 1976 from Michigan.
Survivors included his wife, Marjorie Ann Reekers McGinty; three sons, Timothy Patrick McGinty of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Thomas Michael McGinty of Seminole, Fla., and Sean David McGinty of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Pennington of Bella Vista; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 18, at Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers. Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Benton County Funeral Home with the Rev. Father Mike Sinkler, with military honors provided by the Bella Vista VFW Post 9063 following the services. Burial was Monday, July 21, at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, in care of Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth St., Rogers, Ark. (72756).

Jack W. McVicker
Jack W. McVicker, 76, of Bella Vista, died Friday, July 18, 2003, at Northwest Medical Center of Washington County in Springdale. He was born May 18, 1927, in Sidney, Neb., to Alexander and Lydia Blanche Dearmin McVicker.
He was raised and educated in Sidney, Neb. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, then returned to Sidney.
He married Eila Gathman on June 15, 1947, in Gurley, Neb. He and his wife farmed in Gurley until retiring and moving to Bella Vista in 1987.
He was a past master of the Masons in Sidney, a past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star of Sidney and Dalton, Neb., and a past exalted ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in Sidney.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Eila Gathman McVicker; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Barbara McVicker of Longmont, Colo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Lloyd Bartels of Bruning, Neb., Jacquline and Bryan Wilcox of Gilbert, Ariz.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jim McVicker of Fort Mohave, Ariz., Max and Shirley McVicker of Sun City, Ariz.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kay Jensen of Pooler, Ga., Gloria "Sam" and Robert Sutherland of Hardeville, S.C.; eight grandchildren, Tammy George of Richmond, Va., Andrea Henderson of Gallatin, Mo., Jennifer Jack, Adam Wilcox, Jeana Wilcox and Luke Wilcox, all of Arizona, and Lynnze McVicker and Jessie McVicker, both of Longmont; three great-grandchildren, all of Arizona; several nieces and cousins, and many close friends.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, at Bella Vista Community Church with the Rev. Richard Lindman officiating.
Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.
Memorials may be made to the Bella Vista Community Church Building Fund, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. (72714); or to the American Heart Association, Memorial Processing Center, P.O. Box 1653, Topeka, Kan. (66601-1653).

Burton E. Merchant
Burton E. Merchant, 75, of Bella Vista, died Monday, July 14, 2003, at Porter Care Hospice in Centennial, Colo. He was born Dec. 18, 1927, in Evergreen, La., to Elza Burton and Blanche Barron Merchant.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Bella Vista Baptist Church and the Petroleum Geological Society.
He enjoyed fishing and golf.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Merchant; a daughter and son-in-law, Randi and Charles McVay of Denver; his mother-in-law, Charlotte Long of Baton Rouge, La.; a sister, Sybil Stephens of Baton Rouge; a granddaughter, Abby McVay of Denver; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 18, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home of Baton Rouge, La. A second visitation was from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at First Baptist Church in Baton Rouge.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Ken Ellison officiating. Graveside services were at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Bayou Rouge Baptist Church Cemetery in Evergreen, La.
Memorials may be made to Bayou Rouge Baptist Church, Evergreen, La.; to Bella Vista Baptist Church, 50 E. Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. (72714); or to Porter Care Hospice in Centennial, Colo.

Floris Sollenbarger
Floris Sollenbarger, 90, died July 16, 2003, at Valley View Village in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born in Corydon, Iowa, and lived in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, and Bella Vista.
She was a member of PEO.
She is survived by sons David of Des Moines and Michael of Tucson, Ariz.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene T. Sollenbarger.
No services are planned. She will be cremated and her ashes will be spread in Corydon.

Maria Militina
Maria Militina Soto-Gallardo, 68, of Pineville, Mo., died Sunday, July 13, 2003, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville. She was born March 2, 1935, in Puerto Montt X Region, Chile, to Francisco Segundo Soto-Bustamante and Sofia Gallardo-Soto.
She moved to Pineville from Chile in 1994 to be close to her family. She attended Centro Cristiano Hispano of Bentonville.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Martin A. and Marilyn Marin of Bella Vista; a daughter and son-in-law, Mireya and Virgil Porterfield of Jane, Mo.; a brother, Jose Mamerto Soto-Gallardo of Puerto Montt, Chile; a nephew, Lorenzo Godoy of Puerto Montt; and three grandchildren, Marcela Porterfield, Linda Porterfield and Alejandra Marin.
Visitation was from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory. No services are planned.
Cremation arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

Anna B. Stephens
Anna B. Stephens, 75, of Rogers, died Monday, July 14, 2003, at Beverly Healthcare in Rogers. She was born Sept. 18, 1927, in Mountain Crest, to Willis Troy and Etta M. Pratter Jackson.
She married Wendell Stephens on Nov. 12, 1950, in Yuma, Ariz. The couple moved to Rogers in 1993 from Bell Gardens, Calif.
She was a homemaker and member of Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed quilting, baking and entertaining family at holidays.
Survivors include her husband, Wendell Stephens; a son and daughter-in-law, Wendell Jr. and Alene Stephens of Downey, Calif.; a brother, Robert T. Jackson of Bella Vista; a sister, Hazel Giberson of Bellview, Mich.; and two grandchildren, Shannon and Jeffery.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 18, at Callison-Lough Funeral Service chapel in Rogers. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at the church at Patrick Cemetery, east of Elkins, with the Rev. Doyle Baker officiating.

Odrianna Lindsey Sutherland
Odrianna Lindsey Sutherland, infant daughter of Thomas and Alexa Arnold Sutherland of Centerton, was born and died Thursday, July 17, 2003, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather, Homer Briggs; and her paternal great-grandmother, Ollie Sutherland.
Survivors include her parents, Thomas and Alexa Sutherland; a sister, Olivea Leagsaidh Sutherland of Centerton; her maternal grandmother, Linda Baird of Bella Vista; her maternal great-grandmother, Lourrene Briggs of Bentonville; her paternal grandparents, Daniel and Anna Sutherland of Camp; and her paternal great-grandparents, Norman and Laura Freeman of Camp, Damon and Evelyn Sutherland of Mammoth Springs.
Graveside funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, at Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers, with the Rev. Mark Lindstrom officiating.
Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Service of Bentonville.
