Robert J. Hayford
BELLA VISTA -- Robert "Bob" James Hayford, 69, of Bella Vista died July 23, 2002, at his home. He was born Sept. 10, 1932, in Wichita, Kan., to Robert James Hayford Sr. and Mayme Bokey Hayford. He was a design engineer for Beech Aircraft (Raytheon) Corp. for 42 years in Wichita. He had been active in Little League and high school and college basketball. He was a member of the Lions Club in Maize, Kan., the Highland United Methodist Church, the Bella Vista 9-Hole Men's Golf and Hummers Golf Group of Highland United Methodist Church. He moved to Bella Vista in 1994 from Wichita.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Lou Walton Hayford, to whom he was married Aug. 8, 1953; two sons, Larry L. Hayford of Bella Vista and William K. Hayford of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one daughter, Medina L. Sutter and husband Jerry of Woodlands, Texas; one sister, Beverly Reiling of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Highland United Methodist Church in Bella Vista with Jack Schaible officiating.
Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home.

Peggy J. Douglas
HIWASSE -- Peggy Joan Douglas, 48, of Hiwasse died July 24, 2002, at her home. She was born June 26, 1954, in Bentonville to Howard Lee and Lavenia Brandon Todd. She lived in the Gravette/Hiwasse area for 48 years.
Survivors include her husband, Ronnie Douglas of Hiwasse, to whom she was married 28 years; two sons, Creston Douglas of Atlanta, Ga., and Chris Douglas and wife Christy of Lowell; two sisters, Charolette Traxel and Ida Bates, both of Gravette; one grandchild, Sydney Douglas.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Assembly of God in Gravette with the Rev. Wesley Robbins and the Rev. A.W. Lavender officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery at Hiwasse.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bella Vista Funeral Home.

Dr. John T. Stone
ROGERS -- Dr. John T. Stone, 86, of Rogers died July 23, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers. He was born April 17, 1916, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Roscoe and Belle Tuttle Stone. He moved to Rogers in 1974 from Brookings, S.D. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Michigan State with a B.S. and M.S. degree, then earned a Ph.D. from Harvard University. He taught economics at Michigan State and was dean of the extension service at South Dakota State University. He also taught in Thailand, Somalia and Columbia, South America. He enjoyed fishing, rock cutting and painting. He was a member of the Rotary Club, the South Dakota Club and the Rock Hound Club. He was preceded in death by his wives, Beatrice Stone and Mary Zelnick Stone, and by one son, Scott Stone.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Ada Johnstone Stone of the home, to whom he was married nine years; one son, Bruce Stone and wife Kathy of Woodland Park, Colo.; three stepsons, John Zelnick and wife Sarah of Takoma Park, Md., Ben Johnstone of Tracy, Calif., and Jim Johnstone of Austin, Texas; two stepdaughters, Mary Ella Zelnick of Clifton Forge, Va., and Rebecca Johnstone of Miami, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Rogers with the Rev. Sandra Wanasek and the Rev. Charles Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Tucks Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.

Geraldine Joy Collins
WEDINGTON -- Geraldine Joy Collins, 72, of Wedington died July 24, 2002, in Farmington. She was born Oct. 20, 1929, in Tahlequah, Okla., to Albert and Edith Washington. She was employed by Burns Security Co. at Peterson Industries in Decatur. She was a member of Weddington Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Walker, in 1992.
Survivors include one daughter, Jacky Salazar and husband Jesus of Farmington; one son, Joe Collins and wife Joyce of Westville, Okla.; three brothers, Doyle Washington of Cincinnati, Charlie Washington of Summers and Ray Washington of Fayetteville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Weddington Baptist Church with the Rev. Phil Misenheimer officiating. Burial will be in Norwood Cemetery under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

John O. Turney
VAN ALSTYNE, Texas -- John Otis Turney, 75, of Van Alstyne died Aug. 12, 2002. He was born Oct. 30, 1926, to John Samuel and Myrtle Rayon Turney. He worked for Vought Aircraft in Dallas, Texas, for more than 38 years. He enjoyed deer hunting and target shooting. He was a veteran of World War II, stationed in Guam, Saipan and Okinawa. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Carol Turney.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Hix Turney, to whom he was married 54 years; one son, John M. Turney and wife Rebecca of Albuquerque, N.M.; one daughter, Marsha Waldrep and husband Gary of Bedford, Texas; one grandson, Jon Casey Waldrep of Bedford.
Services were Aug. 15 at the First Baptist Church in Van Alstyne. Burial was in Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Florence H. Adams
SILOAM SPRINGS -- Florence Helen Adams, 81, of Siloam Springs died Aug. 20, 2002, in Siloam Springs. She was born June 6, 1921, in Harris to James W. and Ethel Robbins Allison. She graduated from Green land High School and attended Fayetteville Business College. She was a former employee of the University of Arkansas and the Cotton Division, Agricultural Marketing Services USDA, working in Hayti, Mo., and Memphis, Tenn. She retired to Siloam Springs in 1980 from Memphis. She was a member of St. Luke's Methodist Church in Memphis.
Survivors include three brothers, Dean Allison of Farmington, Bill Allison of Siloam Springs and Don Allison of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Ruby Potter and Velma Bartholomew, both of Siloam Springs.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Nancy Hedges
ROGERS -- A scattering of ashes ceremony for Nancy JoAnn Hedges of Rogers, who died Aug. 14, 2002, will be at 11 a.m. at Monte Ne Boat Dock with the Rev. Wilson Rowlett officiating.
Jane Cooper
ST. PAUL -- Jane Cooper, 97, of St. Paul died Aug. 19, 2002, at her home. She was born March 22, 1905, at Leschnitz, Germany, to Johannes and Hedwig Hanke Gregor. She was a seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacques Cooper.
Survivors include one nephew, two nieces and one great-niece.
Cremation arrangements were by Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville.
