BISMARCK -- Bessie Dell Turner, 72, of Bismarck died Sept. 29, 2002 at Glenwood Nursing Home. She was born Jan. 24, 1930 in Pasadena, Texas, daughter of the late Jesse James and Ethel Robbins. She was a homemaker and a member of Caney Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferman Turner and a son, Johnny Glen Turner.
Survivors include: A son, Jerry Turner of Ashdown; a brother, Jim Ed Robbins of Onalaska, Texas; and four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Caney Cemetery with Rev. Pat Greer officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
James R. Deaton
ALPINE -- James Ray Deaton, 81, of Alpine died Oct. 1, 2002 at Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
Geraldine M. Elder
MALVERN -- Geraldine Miller Elder, 83, of Malvern died July 9, 2003 at her home. She was born Dec. 23, 1919 in Arkadelphia, daughter of the late Carl and Beatrice Helms Miller. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and had been active in the Junior Service League and the Malvern Garden Club. She was the widow of Harold W. Elder.
Survivors include: Two children, Harold Elder of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Jeanne Elder Johnson of Lake Junaluska, N.C.; a brother, Glenn Miller of Houston, Texas; and three grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church of Malvern with Rev. Roy P. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery under the direction of J.A. Funk Funeral Home of Malvern.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Hugh Kimbrell
Hugh Kimbrell, age 92, passed away May 29, 2007 at Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation after a long journey with Alzheimer’s. He was the first child born to the late William Boman and Jettie Mae Long Kimbrell on February 27, 1915 at Dobyville, near Okolona
He was preceded in death by, daughter, Shirley Wells in 1993 and granddaughter, Teresa Gaye Hamm in 1967. Survived by wife of 67 years Coy Norman Kimbrell, brother Grady Kimbrell of Gurdon,

Seven grandchildren, Shari Hamm Campbell of Mayflower, Desi Hamm of Cabot, Tori Well Deaver of Springhill, LA, Jaime Wells Ledbetter of Gurdon, Shane Masey of Carrollton, TX, Brandi Masey of Hallsville, TX and Lacey Masey of Dallas, TX and seven great-grandchildren, Paige Campbell, Adam McKey, Devin Hamm, Baylie Deaver, Dylan Masey, Reid and Rhett Ledbetter.
A lifelong resident of Clark County he was a farmer, a logging contractor and an employee of the Gurdon Street Department. He always enjoyed gardening and sharing his produce with family and friends. The family favorites were his corn and tomatoes. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Gurdon.
Funeral services are Friday, June 1 at 10:00AM at the First Baptist Church in Gurdon with Rev. Charles Leslie officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Arkadelphia by Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon. Pallbearers are; Shane Masey, Desi Hamm, Randy Ledbetter, Tony Pruitt, David Coston and John David Coston.
The family appreciates the excellent care and accommodations by all of his caregivers and administrative staff of Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation the past two years.

HOT SPRINGS -- Patrick Henry Booker III, 21, of Hot Springs died July 3, 2003.
Survivors include: A son, Aaron Patrick Booker of Marilyn, Va.; parents Patrick and Joyce Booker of Hot Springs; a brother, Dondy Bernard Booker of Hot Springs; sister, Jena Patrice Booker of Hot Springs; grandparents, Johnnie Booker of Hot Springs, Patrick H. Booker Sr. of Dallas, Texas, Alvin Jones of Chicago, Ill., and Elnora white of Compton, Calif; and great-grandparents, Clayborn Booker of Arkadelphia and Magdalene Spencer of North Little Rock.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Visitors Chapel AME Church with Dr. James Thomas and Rev. Patrick H. Booker Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Cemetery under the direction of Brandon's Mortuary.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Visitors Chapel AME Church of Hot Springs.
Douglas M. Brumley
BEIRNE -- Douglas Matthew Brumley, infant son of Douglas and Sherry Brumley of Beirne, died July 9, 2003.
Other survivors are: Grandparents, Delbert and Lena Brumley and David and Linda Welch; and aunts and uncles.
A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Brown Cemetery near Beirne. Burial is under the direction of Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon.
Ollie G. Reed
ARKADELPHIA -- Ollie Gene Reed, 59, of Arkadelphia died May 31, 2004. He was born July 5, 1944, son of the late Eddie C. and Mary Lee Hogan Reed. He was a member of Piney Grove AME Church and a farmer in Clark County for many years. He was preceded in death by one son.
Survivors include: One son, Gregory L. Reed of Ozan; two sisters, Margarine Jackson of Arkadelphia and Mary Tate of Chicago, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral will be at noon Saturday at Piney Grove AME Church with Rev. Fostene Quarles officiating. Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. today at the funeral home with family hour from 6-7 p.m.
William B. Kerr
LITTLE ROCK -- William Beecher "Bill" Kerr, 78, of Little Rock died Sept. 18, 2002. He was a graduate of Little Rock Senior High School and a World War II veteran. He attended Little Rock Junior College and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He was a former employee of Sears and Arkansas Power and Light Co. and was retired from Arkla Gas. He served as commander of the M.M. Eberts Post #1 of the American Legion and was a member of the Little Rock Rotary Club where he had served on the board of directors. He was a member of the Episcopal Church and the industrial committee of the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce and had served as company chairman of the United Way in Pulaski County, a member of the Diamond Club of the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce and scoutmaster of the Boy Scouts of America in the Eastern Arkansas Council.
Survivors include: Three sons, William Gregory of Little Rock and Richard Donavan and Frederick James of Hot Springs; a daughter, Kari Wahlquist of Little Rock; two stepsons, Harvey Bell of Little Rock and William Bell Jr. of Bismarck; a brother, Harry H. Kerr Jr.; a sister, Mae Josephine Jennings; and eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday in Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth chapel in Little Rock with Rev. Mary Jones officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim Kerr, Justin Bell, Brit Palmer, Dustin Palmer, Tommy Hanson and Roger Paul. Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Don Armstrong, Emily Harbison and Grady Wahlquist.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
