George R. Hansen
GURDON - George Russell Hansen, 82, of Gurdon died March 25, 2006. He was a retired chief warrant officer-W3 in the U.S. Army with 20 years of service, including service in World War II and Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Gurdon and was retired from International Paper.
Survivors include: His wife of 49 years Davyne Hansen of Gurdon; two sons, Mark Hansen of Langley and David Hansen of Witter; a brother, Walt Hansen of Lake Bluff, Ili.; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials maybe made to the Humane Society of Clark County, 627 Walnut, Arkadelphia, Ark. 71923.
A memorial service was March 28 in the First Presbyterian Church, Main Street, in Gurdon to celebrate his life. Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon in charge of arrangements.

Sybil H. Wrinkle
SHERIDAN - Sybil F. Henderson Wrinkle, 77, of Sheridan, formerly of Arkadelphia, died Friday, April 7, 2006. She was born Sept. 12, 1928, in Pisgah, the daughter of the late James Arthur and Haddie Harris Henderson. She was a retired employee of Levi Strauss and the Arkadelphia school system. She was a member of the Delight Baptist Church and was preceded in death by one grandson, Jeff Ruchalski. She was a very devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Wrinkle; two sons, Thomas Buck and wife, Cheryl of Delight and James Buck of Royse City, Texas, and his special friend, Kathy Buck of Rowlett, Texas; two daughters, Brenda Hardin and husband, Don of Sheridan and Judy Ruchalski and husband, Mike of Delight; one sister, Winnona Kelly of Troup, Texas; six grandchildren five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services was Sunday at Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel with Rev. Mike Walton and Rev. Terry Williams officiating. Interment will be in Delight Cemetery.

Billy C. Lamb
O'FALLON, Mo. - Billy C. Lamb, 74, of O'Fallon, Mo., died April 2, 2006. He was a native of Antoine and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in O'Fallon.
Survivors include: A son: Billy M. Lamb of O'Fallon, Mo.; two daughters: Mary Overton of Winston, Mo., and Jana Obrigewitch of Rosamond, Calif.; two brothers: Dexter Lamb of Norfolk, Va., and Benny Arnold of Curtis; and a sister, Donetta Rodgers of Curtis.
Graveside service is at 1 p.m. Saturday, in Harts Chapel Cemetery near Curtis.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday at Horne Funeral Home in Gurdon. Local arrangements by Horne Funeral Home.

Bessie V. Russell
SPARKMAN - Bessie Vann Russell, 82 of Sparkman died April 5, 2006, at the Twin Rivers Health and Rehab. She was born Oct. 18, 1923, in Dallas County, the daughter of the late Alver B. and Martha Ann Hogue Vann. She was a housewife and a member of the Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl D. Russell and three brothers.
Survivors include one sister, Earline Langley of Leola; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel with Rev. Marvin Launius and Rev. David Dillard officiating. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Josie K. Newburn
ARKADELPHIA - Josie Ella Knox Newburn known to many as "Moma Josie," 104, died Monday, April 3, 2006, in Twin River Health and Rehabilitation Center, Arkadelphia.
She was born Sept. 17, 1901, to Robert and Mary Helen Jones Knox. She was a member of Mt. Morriah Missionary Baptist Church where she served as the Missionary Society treasurer, a choir member, Mother's Board, member of Order of Eastern Star Universal Evergreen Verbena Chapter 192.
She was married to Rev. Joseph S. Newburn, January 2, 1920, to this union there were 13 children born. Moma Josie was a midwife, community leader, and she served as first lady of the Mt. Morriah Missionary Baptist Church for over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. Joseph S. Newburn; four sons, Henry L. Newburn, Maurice Newburn, Rev. Franklin Newburn, Albert Newburn; and one daughter, Carola Newburn Wilson; 10 siblings, Robert Knox, Bea Knox, Callie Knox, Lee Knox, Jacob Knox, Christene Knox, Mary J. Newburn, Vasie Gilmore, Zeola Hill, and Effie Rogers.
She leaves to remember her life, five sons, Willie (Mattie) Newburn, J. V. Newburn, and Rev. James S. Newburn of Arkadelphia, Rev. Douglas P. Newburn of Portland, Ore., Carl Newburn of Grady; three daughters, Flossie Morgan of Malvern, Evelyn Harrison, Maureen (Freddie) Owens of Arkadelphia, daughter-in-law, Brenda Newburn of Malvern, one sister Mattie Adams of Detroit, Michigan, one brother, Odis Knox of Arkadelphia, 46 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren, 28 great-great grandchildren, one adopted son Billy (Patricia) Walsh of Dallas, Texas and one adopted daughter Dorothy Luster of Arkadelphia.
Public visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Mt. Morriah Missionary Baptist Church, 626 Mt. Morriah Road, Arkadelphia.
A celebration of her life will be Saturday, April 8, 2006, at 12 noon in Mt. Morriah Missionary Baptist Church, Arkadelphia, Rev. Vernon Moody Sr. officiating. The committal service and final resting place will be in the Newburn Family Cemetery.
Professional and personal care for the Newburn Family are provided by Williams Funeral Home, "We Care" Since 1950.

Ronnie Gorman
Ronnie Gorman age 59 of Gurdon died Thursday, July 19, 2007. Ronnie was a Supervisor for Anthony Timberland, a member of South Fork Baptist Church and a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors include;
Wife: Brenda Gorman, Gurdon
Brother: George Gorman, Hampton
Sister: Ellen McChristian, Little Rock and a host of nieces, nephews and other family also survive. Ronnie was preceded in death by Son; Steven Gorman, his parents, Edward & Lesta Mae Gorman and a brother, Billy Gorman.
Services are Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 10:00AM at South Fork Baptist Church with intermenty in Center Ridge Cemetery by Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon.

Elzia Garner
GURDON - Elzia Garner, 75 of Gurdon, died April 4, 2006. He was born Oct. 4, 1930, in Antoine. Elzia and Mary Lou who were married 55 years, lived at Beirne most of their life and will be buried at Beirne cemetery. They had three children, Jimmy Garner of Gurdon, and Pat Leverton and husband Rick, and Sarah, of Kirby and Frankie of Nashville, Mary Anne Baker husband Ronnie and Kyli all of Gurdon five grandchildren, Jennifer Francis of Fayetteville, Justin and Elizabeth Garner of Gurdon, Katie Rutledge and Family Bobby Kane and Chase of Arkadelphia.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006, at Brown Cemetery at Beirne with Bro. Frank Hensen officiating. Pallbearers from Beirne Baptist Church.
Special friends are Jerry and Mary Jane Wilson and Clois Dickey. God's greatest blessing on them.

Elsie T. Sullivan
CANEY - Elsie Jones Thacker Sullivan, 89, of Caney died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at Beverly Healthcare. She was born Nov. 23, 1916, in Hot Spring County, the daughter of the late William Thomas and Leona Garner Jones. She was a housewife and a member of the Bismarck Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Clifton Thacker and Jesse Sullivan, and one son, Elvin Thacker.
Survivors include: Three daughters, Edith Jones of Kermit, Texas, Erma Sue Barnes and husband, Doyle of Dubberly, La., and Brenda Collie of Caney; one daughter-in-law, Earlene Thacker of Caney; three brothers, Raymond Jones of Caney, Charles Jones of Malvern and Henry Jones of Kermit, Texas; one sister, Hazel Thrash of Lakeview, Ore.; nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren; two special caregivers, Sue Pasley and Andrea Yerby.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday April 8, 2006, at Bismarck Pentecostal Church with Rev. Van Glidewell and Rev. Maurice Burroughs officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Bower Cemetery under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
Grandsons will be pallbearers, and honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Gary Gehrki and staff of Beverly Heathcare.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Elizabeth D. Ford
ENTERPRISE, Ala. - Elizabeth Kay Dyals Ford, 54, of Enterprise, Ala., died April 7, 2006, at a Dothan hospital. She was born Sept 24, 1951, in Hot Springs, the daughter of the late Fred B. and Freddie Looper Dyals. She was a graduate of Bismarck High School
Survivors include her husband, Robert Joseph Ford Sr.; two sons, Robert Joseph Ford Jr. of Dothan, Ala., and Matthew J. Ford of Daphne, Ala.; her mother, Freddie Dyals of Bismarck; one brother, Garry Dyals of Tennessee; four sisters, Joy Adams and Penny McClenahan both of Bismarck, Mary Overton of Jackson, Miss., and May Doubet of Hot Springs; and two grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Beaton Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Looper and Rev. Gary Hardage officiating. Burial will be in Beaton Cemetery under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
