Ronald David York, age 60, of McCaskill, Arkansas, died Sunday November 4, 2007. He was born October 9, 1947 in McCaskill, the son of the late Bill Clarence York and Anna Bell Meeks York. Mr. York was a retired U.S. Postal Carrier, and a member of the McCaskill Church of Christ. He was a Vietnam Army veteran where he received a Purple Heart. Survivors include his wife Glenda York of McCaskill; mother Anna Bell York of McCaskill; son Michael David York of Fort Worth, TX; 2 sisters Dotty York of Orange, CT and Virginia Huckabee of McCaskill. Services are 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at McCaskill Church of Christ with burial in Harris Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. Monday at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Wallace G. 'Doc' Ford

Wallace G. “Doc” Ford, age 81, of Dierks, Arkansas, died Saturday March 10, 2007 in Texarkana, Texas. He was born August 29, 1925 in Center Point, Arkansas, the son of the late John Melvin and Cafter Sharp Ford. He was a retired Millwright and member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Mr. Ford was preceded in death by one brother A.J. Ford and sister Anna Lou Sharp. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law Shirley and Jonathan Ibarra of Corpus Christi, TX, Julie and Shane Walston of Dierks; Three grandchildren Drew, Austin and Adriana Walston all of Dierks. Services will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with burial in Sunshine Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Nona Yates Shofner

Nona Yates Shofner, age 93, of Center Point, Arkansa, died Saturday, March 10, 2007, at the Nashville Nursing Home, after spending five and a half years at Pecan Haven Retirement Center. She was a member of the Center Point Church of Christ. She was born March 13, 1913, the daughter of the late John W. and Sara Ann Ross Yates. She was preceded in death by her husband Claude N. Shofner; four brothers Calvin, James, Carl and Haskell; as well as five sisters Essie Alda, Edith, Alice and Sally Jo. She is survived by her sister-in-law Lena Jo Sivley and husband O.V. Sivley of Nashville, TN, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was loved by every one that knew her. She was blessed with a special friendship from Barbara Yates, who was by her side any time the need was there. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Latimer Funeral Home with burial in Center Point Cemetery. Bro. Ray Nation will officiate. Visitation will be 6:30-8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. John Wesley Jones, 65, died Friday, March 09, 2007 at his home after a brief illness.
He was born January 19, 1942 in Nathan. His parents Doyle W. and Lucille Couch Jones and a brother Eddie Jones preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Chapel Hill Church of Christ.
He was a long distance truck driver and recently retired from Upper Southwest Regional Landfill.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Norma Jean Smith Jones; two daughters Jena Jones of Nathan and Judi Jones Chambers and husband, Roger of Nashville; two grandsons Ryne Wesley Chambers and Dylan Todd Chambers both of Nashville; three sisters Eva Dell Cox and husband Conrad, Betty Hughes and husband Frank all of Nathan and Patsy Lawless and husband Darrell of De Queen.
One uncle Calvin Couch and wife Joyce of Nathan and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 11th , 2007 from 6-8 P.M. at Latimer Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be Monday, March 12th, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Latimer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Biggs Chapel Cemetery in Nathan.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Chapel Hill Church of Christ.

Edward Phillip Ramage, age 55, of Nashville, Arkansas, died Friday, March 9, 2007, in Nashville. He was born October 3, 1951, in Nashville, Arkansas, the son of the late Edward and Lourie Dowling Ramage. He was a semi-retired photographer, past-president of the Lion’s Club, and member of the Mineral Springs Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife Janice Ramage of Nashville; one son and daughter-in-law Phillip and Linda Ramage of Nashville; one daughter Holly Ramage of Springdale; special person Douglas Garcia of Springdale; one sister Deb Welch of Springdale; one half-brother Tom Elder of Little Rock. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Mineral Springs Church of Christ with burial in Nashville Cemetery.

Ms. Pearl Brandon, of Little Rock, Arkansas, died Friday March 9, 2007, in Dierks where she has resided for the past year. She was born on the 4th of July, in the Fellowship Community of Howard County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and and Ocie Cunningham Brandon. She was a member of the Park Place Baptist Church in Little Rock, and she was very involved in church and community activities. She was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister, as well as her brother Bob and sister Eva. Survivors include 2 sisters Oris Ferguson of Little Rock, Bonnie Smith of Mountain Home; numerous nieces and nephews, whom she considered her children, as well as a host of friends and relatives. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, at Temple Baptist Church in Little Rock, with burial at 3:30 P.M. in Fellowship Cemetery near Dierks. Visitation will be 6:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Tommy H. Pope

Tommy H. Pope, 59, of Nashville, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at a Ashdown hospital. . He was the son of Doris Pope and the late T.H. Pope.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church. Tommy served in the Army as a Military Police Officer. Tommy was a retired Special Agent with the Arkansas State Police; during his 29 year career he was a special agent as a Drug Enforcement Coordinator. His assignments were living in Little Rock, Jonesboro and Nashville. He was also an ex-police instructor at the Arkansas State Police Academy and Aleta in Camden. Tommy enjoyed coins and stamp collecting and flying airplanes with his friends. He was a member of the Declaration of Wooden Money Collectors, International Organization of Wooden Money and the American Numismatist Association; retired Arkansas State Police Association and retired Southwest Arkansas State Police Association as well as the Arkansas Narcotics Officers Association.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie of Nashville, AR; two sons, Brian Pope of Nashville, AR ;and Steve Pope of Benton, AR and his mother, Doris Pope of Texarkana, TX; a host of friends.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 9, at Nashville Cemetery, with Jerry Crane and Jimmy Dale officiating, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Sheriffs Boys Ranch or Department of Human Services Foster County Program
After the service family and friends will meet at the Carter Day Center.
Garland May

Garland May, 90, of Mineral Springs, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at Howard County Memorial hospital in Nashville. He was born May 23, 1916 at Schaal, AR, the son of the late Barker and Amy Brown Young May.
He was in the Army Antiaircraft Artillery Searchlight Battalion, during WWII stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was a member of the Mineral Springs Church of Christ where he served as an Elder for over 30 years, American Legion post 61, and Lions Club. He also served on the Mineral Springs City Council, Howard County Democratic Committee and as Justice of Peace for many years.
Mr. May was retired from Ideal Cement.
He was preceded in death by two sons, James Ellis May, Gerald Gale May and one sister, Helen Euseppi.
He is survived by his wife, Lottie May of Mineral Springs, AR; one daughter, Becky Hickey of Mineral Springs, AR; one daughter-in-law, Mary May of Mineral Springs; one brother, George May of Coos Bay, OR; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 8, at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, with Robert Peek, Randy Hughes and Ray Nations officiating, burial in Mineral Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, March 7, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
Buster Nelson

Buster Nelson, age 76, of Ozan, died on Friday, March 2, 2007 in Little Rock. He was born on June 8, 1930 in Ozan, the son of Tom and Mattie (Goodlett) Nelson. He was involved in Sales and a member of the St. Paul Methodist Church in Ozan.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by one brother, Roscoe Leewood Nelson.
Survivors include one brother, Billy Joe (Sunny) Nelson of Bulverde, Texas; one sister, Bonnie Brown of Nashville; three nieces and 4 nephews. Graveside Services will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 5, 2007 at St. Paul Cemetery in Ozan with Rev. David Blasé officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Nashville.
