Ken Ragge
Everett K. Ragge, 66, of Uniontown died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at his home. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, former aide to President Dwight D. Eisenhower and helicopter pilot at the White House. He was a graduate of Muldrow High School and Poteau Junior College, former Realtor and insurance agent in Van Buren and self-employed marketing consultant.
Survivors include his wife, Karla Ragge of Uniontown; three daughters, Susie Patrick of Carterville, Ill., Phyllis McClure of Van Buren and Stephanie Slinkard of Cape Girado, Mo.; two sons, Sandy Ragge of Tulsa and Greg Slinkard of Fort Smith; four sisters, Jerlean Armer of Short, Okla., Ann Hibbard of Uniontown, Kay Brunk of Muldrow and Brenda White of Marble City, Okla.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service was held March 14 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren. Arrangements are under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
Calvin Hamon
Calvin Lee Hamon, 42, of Van Buren died Friday, March 9, 2001, at a Little Rock hospital. He was a member of the Church of Christ, graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University, carpet layer and formerly of Norman and Shawnee, Okla.
Survivors include his wife, Maggie Redwine Hamon; two daughters, Amber Lynn and Brittany Nicolle Hamon, both Shawnee; one son, Calvin Lee Hamon Jr. of Shawnee; his mother, Bobbie Marie Decker of Van Buren; father, Jimmie Hamon of Wewoka, Okla.; one sister, Robin LaRue of Fort Smith; grandfather, Orville Hamon of Noble, Okla.; and two nieces, Jennifer Marie Hamon of Fort Smith and Brandy Nichole Stephens of Hackett.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren. Burial will be at Sarah Grove Cemetery near Cedarville under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be LeRoy Stephens Jr., J.T. McMaster, Jimmie Mizell, Jeff Mizell, John Pat Morton and Tommy Mankin.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson, Van Buren.
Clifford Reynolds
Clifford A. Reynolds, 72, of Moffett died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at a local hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II and an amateur radio operator.
Survivors include two friends, Ed Edwards of Muldrow and Donald Yandell of Moffett.
Graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Thelma Snodgrass
Thelma Snodgrass, 74, of Van Buren died Saturday, March 10, 2001, at a local hospital. She was a homemaker and of the Freewill Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Ervin; three daughters, Lou Crawford of Westville, Okla., Brenda Swaim of Fayetteville and Eunice Freeman of Cedarville; one sister, Chloe Brasier of Parsons, Kan.; three brothers, Lee Pike of Rogers, Ray Pike of Denver and Nathan Pike of Centerton; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside service was held March 13 at Hall Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were Lonnie Dale Brewry, Jerry Roach, Michael Roach and Brad Trammell.
