Amon Poor
Amon Ward Poor, 75, of Wetumpka, Ala. died Wednesday, May 30, 2001.
He was a retired truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Edna H. Poor; three daughters, Carolyn J. Archer of Niles, Mich., Sandy F. Payne of Wetumpka, Ala. and Connie P. Zebell of Three Oaks, Mich.; three step–daughters, Rose Krueger of Westville, Ind., Judy McKinley of Middleton, Fla. and Mary Meyers of Cape Canaveral, Fla.; three sons, Steven W. Poor of Coloma, Mich., Tim W. Poor of Springdale and James E. Sherry of Hensley; 25 grandchildren and 23 great–grandchildren.
Graveside service was held June 2 at Freedom Cemetery in Chester under the direction of Edwards Van–Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Lonnie Bonner
Lonnie “Butch” Bonner, 74, of Van Buren died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at a local hospital.
He was born in Booneville.
He was a retired truck driver for the postal service, a musician and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dallas Bonner; two daughters, Lily Copeland of Van Buren and Janice Clark of West Fork; two sons, Jackie Bonner of Van Buren and Tommy Bonner of Monte Vista, Colo.; one sister, Edna Mae Beaty of Springdale; three nephews; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held May 31 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren.
Burial was held at Gill Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Conrad Smith, Charles Gilmore, Jerry Cottingham, James Beaty, Claudie Copeland, Carrol Copeland, John Szczerba and Leon Green.

Betty Reeves
Betty J. Reeves, 70, of Alma died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at a local hospital.
She was a retired LPN from Sparks Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Lawanda Huff of Van Buren and Christy Renee Bussett of Georgia; two sons, Jerry Don Gifford of Lake City, Fla. and Tony Reeves of Alma; one sister, Lillie Ann Weldon of Madill, Okla.; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was held June 4 at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Jessie Goss
Jessie Harold Goss Sr., 68, of Van Buren died Friday, May 25, 2001, at a local hospital.
He was a welder in bridge building and member of Pentecost Church.
Survivors include his wife, Willene; two daughters, Anita Butler of Fort Smith and Sharon Upshaw of Harrah, Okla.; one son, Harold Goss of Fort Smith; one sister, Gladys Ivey of Savannah, Okla.; two brothers, Troy Goss of Beaverton, Mich., Ray Goss of Michigan; one half brother, Edgar Stanful of Stockton, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held May 29 at Fentress Chapel. Burial was held at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
Pallbearers were Timothy Goss, David Butler, John Butler, Ronnie Butler, Matthew Goss, Jessie Goss, Brandon Upshaw and Kevin Mitchelle.
