Biographical And Historical Memoirs of Pulaski, Jefferson, Lonoke, Faulkner, Grant, Saline, Perry, Garland And Hot Spring Counties, Arkansas

David Lovegrove
David Lovegrove, 73, of Alma died Friday, May 18, 2001. He was a retired truck driver for Gordons Transport.
Survivors include one daughter, Cindy Lovegrove of Tuttle, Okla.; one son, David Lovegrove of Fort Smith; two sisters, Delema Fields of Van Buren and Gertrude Brown of Alma; two brothers, Jack Lovegrove of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Sonny Stephens of Haskell, Okla.; and one granddaughter, Amy Renae Lovegrove of Fort Smith.
Funeral service was held May 21 at Edwards Van–Alma Funeral Home. Burial was held at Gill Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van–Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were Harold Poyner, Matthew Poyner, Robert Hood, Paul Underwood, Gerald McClure and Bob Shambarger.

Robert Cox
Robert Lake Cox, 78, of Mountainburg died Thursday, May 17, 2001. He was a retired diesel mechanic and a veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeralee Cox.
Survivors include one daughter, Valorie (Lori) Cox of Crown Point, Ind.; three brothers, Tom Cox of Arkansas, Russ Cox and Mike Cox both of Indiana; and two grandchildren, Tanya Cox Edwards and Nikki Cox, both of Indiana.
The body was cremated under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.

Charles Brown
Charles D. “Speedy” Brown, 70, of Van Buren died Saturday, May 19, 2001. He was a member of Alma Masonic Lodge No. 735, a Navy veteran of the Korean War, a retired employee of Olin Industries and a Baptist.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Poague of Van Buren; two sons, Steve Brown of Virginia Beach, Va. and Paul Brown of Chesapeake, Va.; one sister, Louise Ball of Sallisaw, Okla.; two brothers, Jack Brown of Springdale and Jerry Brown of Alma; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held May 22 at Ocker Memorial Chapel. Burial was held at Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were R.C. Walker, Jack Brown, Jerry Brown, Christopher Poague, Jason Brown and Jacob Brown.

Ira Pless
Ira “Junior” Pless, 65, of London died Sunday, May 20, 2001, at a Russellville hospital. He was a member of Martins Chapel Assembly of God Church, an Army veteran and was a retired splicer/repairman with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Wolfe Pless; four sons, Richard S. Huhn of San Antonio, Texas, Rodney S. Pless of Springdale, Michael D. Pless of Rudy and Victor W. Wolfe of London; two daughters, Pamela G. Jones of Alma and Shirley L. Crume of London; his mother, Martha J. Pless of London; two sisters, Faye White of London and Helen Bowden of Russellville; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held May 30 at the Humphrey Chapel. Burial was at East Point Cemetery in Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
